Hi guys just got my phone today. I was using the xperia x10 before so I'm aware that Android has issues displaying high resolution photos of my contact while creating contacts under gmail account. To my surprise HTC One X also has the same issue. Even when I create a contact under phone (not gmail account) it still has the problem. Is there a way to fix this?

I'm running a custom rom (Wanam) on my SGS2, and he fixed the contact photo showing blurry issue.

Hi,
I came across problem with caller id photo quality is poor. It is blurry because stretched up.
This happen when you sync with Google Contact, because your original high-res caller id photo is replaced with Google Contact 96x96 size.
Is this still happening with Desire?

Noone is using Google contacts with photo having this issue?
I am having this problem. I think it only happens when you use the camera to take a photo when editing contacts. If you choose a photo instead of opening the camera to take a new photo, you will have the option to crop the photo and the resolution seems much better. I just tried it last night and it seems to work.
Later edit:
When you link it to the Google account, it scales it down to a very bad resolution.
it also happens when you link your contacts with facebook accounts

Ugh, this is not good. I just went over to the google forums, and see that this issue has been open for a long, long time.
Has anyone found any workarounds, especially for using the FB sync problem with Caller Id Photos?
I also have this problem, only on a Hero. The problem occurred when I flashed a 2.1 ROM on it. Sometimes the photos are blurry, and sometimes they disappear completely, replaced by the generic photo.
It seems to change when I connect/disconnect from wifi, but not every time.
Just thought I'd add the info, even though it's not on a Desire.
Hey guys,
Recently I have been experiancing some problems with the synching of contacts through Facebook to my Evo, specifically the picture aspect of it. Out of about 100 or so contacts on my phone, only about 10 actually have their up to date facebook picture as the contact icon. Everyone that I want with the picture is linked to facebook, yet their picture still doesnt show. I can see their status's and even their photo albums, but still no contact picture. Anyone know the answer?
I think its a app called syncmypix heard that works well
Swyped From My Rom But I Will Always Be A Mynion!
You could always manually switch their picture though edit contact to the facebook one. This may take too much of your time but it should work. Unless of course you already tried that.

Hi you guys,
i love my arc very much but one thing is pissing me off.
Every time i open up my contacts, it takes for ever for them to show up or when i go into an contact it takes forever.
I have synct my contacts with Facebook so i can have the fancy pictures. (perhaps thats the problem)
Is there a way to disable this so i can just get the pictures and not all the profile stuff too?
Or is it something complete diffrent?
Phone is upto date...
thx for your help
Mine is perfectly fine, every contact has a nice contact pic that I set myself.
Maybe it is the facebook stuff slowing it, I dont use any of that rubbish.
No problems here.. Got facebook inside xperia fully synced.. Are your contacts stored on the phone or in google? Do you have a task kilter running on auto? How many contacts do you have? Are you using the stock dialer and contacts app. ?

hi,
i've upgraded from a DHD, after syncing with facebook and putting my details in, the contacts in my contacts app dont all show the facebook profile picture.
Some do.....unsure why, but not the majority......
Never had this issue with my desire and my desire hd
i could wipe the phone and start again, or remove facebook data and then re-add
i'm also wondering about how HTC actually saves this data also, like since its related to my gmail account, some of the images may have saved to some of my contacts that way, making me think that they have the facebook profile pic attached, when in fact its not, its google saving this image to my address book, rather than the phone receiving this from my facebook contacts (yeah i know, i'm not too good at explaining this)
Bottom line, my phone address book includes facebook contacts, many of which dont actually have any profile pics attached to their contact on my phone.
PS: I'm just gonna wipe and start again, and see what happens
it happens on mine too. was wondering~
any solution so far?
I did a hard reset, it helped a little as now more of my contacts are showing facebook profile pic, but still not all

I believe this is an ICS (Android 4.0) issue. Get Haxsync from the Market (argh, Play Store). It resolves this.
