So I was wondering if anyone who has their device already could post some screenshots of their battery usage, screen time etc?
I know there have been some thrown around numerous thread but just thought it would be useful if people would post in one place?
Thanks
just wanna share some battery life stats..
1st power up of the phone.. did a full charge with phone off, once charging light changed to green, i powered up the phone.. 1st thing i notice.. it is not fully charged to 100%..
next thing to take note, the entire duration the phone is on is an additional hr plus.. i rebooted the phone once so im not sure what is the actual duration the phone is powered by the battery..
all in all, about 3hr+ with high usage of the phone.. notice how the phone was awake most of the time and the screen was on most of the time too..
cheers..

Only if this phone had some decent battery packed in, as in the Note, I'd have grabbed it. Why HTC why ?

Screenshots ain't working.
Is it true that there was yesterday a OTA to fix battery issues?!?! If yes, did it solve? and what is the version number?
These are my stats from first day...not bad given how much I'm played with it

Whats your screen on time?
1st post so I hope it's helpful.
I'm a big fan of the phone & love it, there are a few small issues I've noticed & I'll post these in the relevant thread.
People keep saying the battery life is dreadful but it doesn't seem much worse than my original Desire on similar use.
After the first full charge last night I plugged in the charger when the warning came on at 9%:
11 hours 2 minutes on battery, screen used 75% of the power while on for 4 hours 31 minutes.
Everything else used a few % each.
Brightness was on auto at approx 50% most of the time and on full for about half an hour; indoors I wouldn't want it as bright as that.

The battery you have seems to have lasted better than a few others who have posted here.
Was it heavy use or normal??
Thanks

Hi
Thinking about this phone or the one s. Just a quick q regarding the documented poor battery. Could i go out for the day - say for 15/16 hours send the occasional texts maybe a couple of photos/videos and the occasionally browsing the web - to check football scores etc etc.. should this handle that ok ?
is a pocket charger the way to go ?

That's how I intend to use the phone tomorrow, so i'll soon let you know.
The thing with this phone that is superb, there is hardly any drain when your not using it. It's extremely good for idle power saving.
dunno about you guys but i'm getting insane numbers in standby...
overnight i lose 1% with wifi, data and autos-sync on....
it's the first android phone that sleeps properly when screen is off...there's nothing keeping it awake.
i'm on 1.26 by the way
Well I don't think it's that bad on battery given how much screen time i've had....three and a half hours.
Only got 2% left so going to put it back on charge. These are my final stats for my first day after a 13hour charge

Hi everyone,
I received the OTA update 1.28 yesterday (the Netherlands). My most important issue before I installed the update, was the battery life; the relatively high usage of the 'screen' in particular.
A preliminary report about update 1.27/1.28 said the battery life would improve drastically, showing screenshots of how little the 'screen'-usage was. Well, in my case the opposite happened; the battery life actually became worse. I think my max screen-on time is about 0,5h - 1h less than it used to be.
Here are some images of my battery usage. As you can see, it's running for 7h 34m now, and it's already hitting the 48%. My screen-on time being only 1h 9m. Didn't do anything power-consuming today as you can see; a little bit of whatsapping, browsing, etc. I propably won't even get 2 hours of screen-time:S

For those who already received the OTA; how is your experience with the battery life? Did it become worse as well?
Same here. For what's it's worth, it might even have gotten worse...
How can you comment on the update after 24hrs usage?? Give it a week and a few charge cycles and then see how it goes. Or, better yet, factory reset the phone and add apps one at a time - it could be a poorly coded app causing the issues

Well, the fact my battery life became worse could be due to a miscallibrated battery, in which case a complete discharge and full charge (or stats reset) might improve the battery life. If a poorly coded app caused the issue, the app would probably show up in the battery usage list.
That being true or not, the battery life will probably not increase compared to 1.26, because the screen is using a lot of power, relatively speaking (more than half of the battery life is being drained by the screen). I expected this 'problem' to be solved after the update, but I guess the screen (and GPU?) are just very power-hungry.
The OTA update didnt really impact battery life (still crappy )... Im now running ARHD rom and the battery life is a lot better!!
Custom ROMs seem to be the way forward for now.

2 hours on battery today and I have only put it down for a quick 10 minute lunch and (1hr 40 screen time) and i have only lost 13% battery! Not bad eh?
I've been off the battery for about 3 and a half hours and last time I looked, about ten minutes ago... it was on 90% battery... for over an hour I've been listening to music as well on it.
Though, my battery life was not actually that bad on 1.26 either, but for the moment I have no complaints about 1.28... even though the spare core might not be working properly yet for background tasks... so I can only hope that battery life will actually improve with time!

1h 40 screen time and you only lost 13% battery? So you have 87% left? That would mean you can get around 12-13 hours screen time!? :what: Post some screenshots please with screen time, overall usage and brightness settings.

Im at 48% left,
9:30 hours usage with 1:30 of screen time.
Took it off the charger at 09.00 this morning and now the time is 18.11.
Been calling, mailing, texting, some browsing and syncing offline playlists from Spotify.
Running 1.28 OTA, non root, HT23 model.
The one thing I do experience from time to time, is backlight flickering. It just seems to come and go.
Cheers!
I have 11% left and here are my results.
4,45 hour talk time
1,08 hour screen time

Fully charge last night and when it went 3% and this is my stats:
3g was on for about 3hr,15 minutes games, and browsing for 1 hour max.
With 1.26 I have great battery life.
With 1.28 it's the same,great.
18 hours and still 64%.
Few phone calls, browser, and hours of listening to music.
Not bad at all.
I have a great HOX.
Is this normal, an hour of web-browsing with screen on auto-brightness and phone drops from 100% to 71% ? Wifi was off, bluetooth on but not connected to anything. I have Better Battery Stats too, shall I post up? On stock ICS.

He said the wifi was off, please read people.
not sure if "insane" means bad or good. But it looks about average. The average screen on time ranges from 3.5 to 4.5 hours. Mine is dead center of that.
Bluetooth not connecting to anything still drains a lot because it is constantly scanning for other bluetooth devices.
BTW your reception is in the YEllow. that means that also leads to battery drain.
So if you have better reception and your bluetooth is off then your battery would last longer.
Note: I use bluetooth a lot and I find it to be one of the biggest factors for draining. more than GPS and Wifi. Although, using wifi with strong signal actually saves battery.

I really doubt that, because I did the same battery test Techradar* does, which is:
screen on full bright
Wifi on
Gmai, FB, etc all set to update as often as possible
Run a 1.5 hour long HD video full screen
At the end of that test I was at 84%. (the Video was on my SD card, not streaming)
In the video they have a graph of their stats for different phones using this test. GS2 and GS3 are top 2.

You're doubting that our phone doesn't last that... Uhh.. Short? I've had this phone since December and had many discussions with others on here about it and we agree that 4 hrs is about right.
So with that test you're saying that our phone can get over 6 hours throughout the say with normal use? Highly doubt it. You have to realize a couple things.
1. Wifi consumes less battery than 4g
2. You should factor in a normal days use that means including idle time i would say about 2% per hour maybe less.
3. Watching a movie means no "touch" interactions which means it consumes less battery than Web browsing or playing games.
So yes if you just leave the phone on the entire time without touching it. It'll last a long time. But with actually interacting with the phone and using 4g data. Most gets 4hr. Screen time in 17 hours of use ( you guys do get 7 hours of sleep right?)
I don't really believe that test. I know that the 4s battery sucks balls. Our phone lasts longer with our 4g on. It is saying that the one x is shorter?? One x and s lasts longer than our phone. So yeah.

I'd say your battery life is pretty poor.
My battery is a little bit better. I don't have any screen shots right now, but it's usually around 3 - 3.5 hours on screen. Around 7-8 hours battery usage total.

Try downloading Gsam or watchdog from the playstore. Watchdog will tell you if there's a rogue app draining your battery and Gsam will tell you what's taking up the most power.
let your phone do a 3-4 recharge discharge cycles..then it would stabilize.

charge it to 100% then let it discharge(1 cycle of rechrge of discharge) although there maybe a better word to represent that(noob in complex english )..

With 2 hours screen on time over an 8 hour period and your steady curve on that graph, I would say you have some app, or some service eating CPU cycles constantly (these are called wake locks)...
Do this:
Download an app called CPU spy
Charge your device all the way
Pull it off charger
Open CPU spy
Then just hit the back button to close it.
Let your device sit for about a half hour. Don't touch it as much as possible. Leave the screen off.
Open CPU spy... post a picture of what your CPU stats say according to that app. Majority of your times should be in deep sleep mode.
Also, your battery shouldn't drain anymore than 1 to 1.5% each hour at idle. Unless you live in an area where there is poor reception (scanning for signal chews it up as well).
EDIT** ALSO...is your screen brightness on auto or is it manually adjusted a little brighter? If it on auto, then your battery life according to those graphs is absolutely awful. I have mine set pretty bright and I still see about 3 hours of screen on time
Give it a few hours of "normal" use and then come back here with a Betterbatterystats screen shot with Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged. That way we can see what is eating your battery. With only 4% gone, we can't see anything (too small of a window). Make sure you don't plug it in and use normally.
I have seen your other posts and I am wondering what it is that you really want out of your battery. If you think that you can get 3-4 days out of a charge, that is not going to happen. 1.5-2 days is a reasonable expectation and I think that you can get that, but you have to look at your usage habits. No kernel is going to fix that. No ROM is either.
If you are polling notifications (Facebook, G+. Twitter) or Google Locations (Maps, some app that requires location) or believe it or not using the XDA/Tapatalk app a bunch, then those will drain your battery quite fast. I use the Tapatalk app quite a bit and that and Google Now are my #1/2 battery drainers. Could I get rid of Google Now? Sure. It is more of a novelty at this point. I still get 1 -2 days of charge on my phone wihtout worrying about where a plug is.
Like I said, come back at the end of the day or tomorrow morning and post the Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged and we'll see what is draining your battery.
Another thing to note is that it seems your mobile network is typically pretty patchy. This can really drain your battery too.
I've been chasing wakelocks since I got my device and think I'm at a pretty good place. I get 2.5-3hrs of screen on time (about 20% screen brightness) across about 25hrs of standby time. Does anyone else get a lot of mmc1_detect and mmc0_detect wakelocks?
thanks woodrube. I will post my stats at the end of the day. I don't have a facebook or google + or any app that have notifications or updates by itself. I have the screen set to 20% brightness
how do I delete that dmux wake lock?
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to throw something out there...
Just got my shiny new Note 2, and its rad. But, just wanted a second opinion.
I'm aware that generally a Li-ion battery needs to be "conditioned" but usually you get a "fair" idea of battery life within a day or two. Now, had it for a day, on the day I got it, tried my multimedia dock for like 15 minutes...freaked out because I forgot it charges it too. Took it off...flattened the phone till it turned off and charged it, while off for 8 hours over night.
First day has been fairly standard really...much the same as my Galaxy Nexus. Currently on 2 hrs screen time, 36 mins of calls and I'm already down to 45%???
Is this "normal"??
I'm just a little concerned that I may have a crappy battery. I feel a bit "to soon to judge" so I might see after a week. Just wanted to know if everyone else had the same sort of experience.
Thanks in advance.

AFAIK the battery needs a few charging cycles to get it's full capacity. So it will become better.
Have you set the slider for auto brightness to minimum?
That made the greatest power boost for my Note 2.
If the slider isn't at minimum, your values look normal to me.
If it is, you should have more battery left. But here I have to refer to my first sentence.
Drained 55% in 2 hours of screen time and 36 minutes seems weird but it's too soon to judge. Get it down to 1% and fully charge your battery to the max with your phone off and see if it works wonder the next day. Do let us know the outcome.
Thanks guys. I definitely will.
I just thought me fully draining it yesterday would have made today pretty good. Your right though... I feel I'm judging a little too quickly. I just thought I'd get a surprise straight away with this phone as I know it's got unreal battery life.
What were your first days like?
Edit - My screen has been on auto all day too... Hrmmm, starting to worry... Haha. Luckily I haven't rooted yet.

Even if it is on auto, you can calibrate the brightness with the slider in the notifications.
For me it's bright enough if it is at min. And it saves you loads of battery.
Update.
Did a full charge from 10% last night... While on though, does that make a huge difference?
Did this code today *#0028# and like a battery stats reset tool comes up. After hitting quick restart it's drained allot slower. Maybe it didn't have that done out of the factory. Still feel I have a crappy battery though... It's only been 2 charges. Going to do 1% then charge off tonight. See how we go...
Anyone know what the code tool is actually for?
Cheers.

I got a 4 day juice after charging it for the first time with screen on for 4+ hours. Still getting the same or better at times. One thing i have noticed is that leaving the phone connected to the charger for another 20 mins or so even when its fully charged gives it a push in the right direction. U can try that out if u want.

My battery is also doing this but then i question which is the true percentage...so then i quickly take the charger out and its just drops in a minute so i know if it thinks its dead its dead.
As for calibration you will find a ton of useful info here : http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
Hope this helps pal.

So this mean that the battery percentage display is just incorrect and nothing wrong with the battery itself?

I would hope so as my device is 3 month old and im guessing ur device isnt that old...it would be horrible if batterys were going wrong that fast...no i would say its got something to do with the device judging the level incorrectly fo whatever reason and your idea of calibration is the right direction....i think im going to try as couple of suggestions in that link myself tbh.....if ur battery was to be lasting like an hour though then i would say somethings not quite right.

I just got in on monday this week, the battery usually last for about a day with 3-4 hours of screen on time with reading and web browsing, with a bit of gaming which seems to kill it pretty fast. I am currently let it charge overnight and the do a full charge cycle to see what will happen. Thanks for your help :good:

My battery jumped when I was playing clash of clans when my battery was at 10%. It went from 10% to 3%. So then I rebooted and it went back up to 5%. So when my battery was almost dead.. I quickly resetted the fuel gauge in synapse.. And waited a few minutes then it died. Then I plugged it into the charger (did not touch it) till it reached 100%. Seems to be fixed now I hope.

The battery seems not to handle gaming very well i think, those drop are from playing brave frontier am still currently sitting at 38%
I bought this tablet 3-4 days ago. I installed this warship game. I also noticed that it literaly jumps from 30% to 3% in just 5 minutes or less. But my battery charges very quick, which is good on the other hand. What is going on whit this tablets battery? My tablet is still stock, not rooted and bla bla... LTE version offcourse. I'm not sure, but i think it started draining the vattery as soon as i insrted the memory card.

That's the problem I had on me T700, thank God I don't have this issue on the T807.
Funny thing, when the T700 battery died, I'd turn it on after 3 min and would show battery at 23% again and I was able to use it for another 15 min or so
I also had the battery problem, too.
After three days suffering by test all the method I Google from internet, I return my T705y to samsung, and they replace the board and battery.
Now everything's fine, try it,just return tabs to samsung.
tab s 8.4 lte battery only shows 2100 mah fully charged
I purchased a new oem battery (4900 mah) and put that in and it is still showing capacity for the battery as 2100 mah...have not a clue what is wrong?
