Good morning,
I have a question. I've notived when i have installed AOKP b29 and i set the notificationbar to 50% transpirant, my phone gets allot slower. Anyone else noticed this? And is there any way to solve this? Becouse i like the 50% transpirant. ( it was also a problem on m4/ b28)
Thanks!

Ummm, quoted from rom control. "Transparency - turning this on might affect performance and battery life"
good day.
I didn't notice any/much performance decrease...

As the title says.
I am interested in your opinions.
Which one is the best for battery life?
Thanx
There isn't one in particular as it depends on usage and the apps installed

Hi folks,
Just a thought,
Is there a clear view on where real battery drain occurs, by this I mean (for example):
o Radio;
o Kernel;
o Keep Alive Apps / General Health Apps / Background Apps.
Incompatibility between components, e.g. Radio and ROM fight over timing or API issues or .....
Like dzontra11 I'm interesterested in having a phone (good battery life like my old 6210 or 6310i) and occasional Game Use with Internet Browsing (including Gmail sync). WIFI in the flat (90%) and a little 3G around and about.
So I guess I'm asking which combos work best for general use and still be usable. My phone (won't say which radio/ROM combo ATM) informed me earlier that the battery was low, which it was. The sodding phone turned off 2 secs later @ 17%.
In my past life I looked at a lot of system performance issues (usually the classic CPU, I/O & Memory). So I'm guessing where are the current thoughts on this are by people that know in detail.
Regards
Colin
Best I have had to date is DeFroST (all versions seem to be close in usage) with juice ultimate looking after things, gets me almost 2 days with moderate usage.
Hello,
I have just flashed AOPK 4.0.3 and Franco 4.0.3 to my GN but it looks abit more laggy and the battary looks like its draining abit faster, is that due to the fact its less then a day on the device? will it be better? can someone explain how to use the Performence tool on this rom ?
Max Cpu/Min Cpu and Scaling governer

Thx
1) Try a factory reset. Some times there are bits and pieces left over from your previous ROM. Standard ROM procedure.
2) if Step 1 doesn't work, reflash everything. Sometimes a bit here and there is off, resulting in a bad flash. It will only give you problems when those bad bits are needed, causing crashes or battery eating program loops.
3) If that doesn't work, redownload the ROM/Kernel. Verify the MD5 and flash that.
4) If you're having the exact same problem when trying all 3 steps, then it might be a ROM problem and you should contact the ROM dev and explain the problem and ask what you need to do to help him. However, it might not be a problem the dev can fix. Sometimes you have a phone that doesn't work with ROM X when the cell network equipment for Carrier Y in your area is provided by Company Z. Try another ROM/Kernel combo. Eventually, you will find something for you.

The lag may be caused by something as simple as your phone does not like the default setting for either the governor or the max cpu frequency. I would recommend to lower the max cpu setting and see if that helps. If not, try increasing the min cpu setting or change the governor to Ondemand or Performance and see how it works. If none of this helps, try a different kernel.
Good luck
Something that i did notice is the now and before the flashing my ram is still 300 only available and 370 used, is there a way to make it lower? thats after reboot...
Another questions is, my friend have a SG2 with Lite'ning rom on it, and his colours are AMAZING he still doesnt have ICS but he runs faster then my fresh nexus, how can i atlist make my colours as vivid as his? Thx
Bumped once, can someone answer please?
my friend's SG2 also show 850mb ram total and by a press of a butten it clears to 600 ram free and 250 working. why our phone shows only 750 and on my only 300 free all the time and 350 buzy while nothing working...
Hey, I'm curious to see whether there is something that I could do to my BUZZ to gain more battery it's currently got SPLASHMOD rom, and clockwork mod... I'm just unsure because it was fine for ages with the CyanogenMod but then deteriorated for some strange reason I hadn't downloaded something I shouldn't neither use something that would drain the battery so I'm pretty confused I'd be grateful if there was an explanation I'm pretty much a noob at this type of stuff so go easy on me.
Thank you for your time
Just decrease the CPU frequency.. If u dint set the CPU, then go for "Atutu battery saver" App.., it helps you to get battery life for whole day with experiencing all the stuff, For me normally batter drains in 9 or 10 hours normally, but after installing this app, it helps me to withstand 40+ hours for my normal use.. It just sets your CPU frequency low and optimises your mobile phone so that no resource will be using battery.... have a try..
try decrease the cpu and set sheduler on powersave
Like the guy above me try decrease your cpu and set your sheduler on powersaver. It works good for me. And you can also try to use other roms. Some roms just use more and really I have no idea why
I will yell you why.......
Cos some roms have so much sh#t running in the background that most users are unaware of,also app after app to do this and to do that will not help in the slightest.
Turn your screen brightness down, stop overclocking, manage your lmk and ooms, sort your syncing out, stop adding placebo scripts etc etc I'm bored now so I hope you get my point.

i am using splashmod v1.8 and im getting very good battery life after calibration
i used to use CM7 and get 20 hours battery life on moderate use..
with splashmod it goes upto 40 hours....with 2g networks, wifi sometimes and music ... + splashmod v1.8 is very fast!
How come that when I try a very good ROM/ kernel combo, and I try a different ROM (or kernel, or both) which I don not really like, and I configure the same combo as I liked before, that I cannot reproduce the same battery liofe as before?
For example, one day I ran AOKP M3 + franco.Kernel #18.6 and batterylife was very, VERY good.
I decide to try another ROM – which I did not like very much and do a clean install of AOKP M3 + franco.Kernel #18.6 again, but I never got the same battery life any more.
Earlier this week I was on AOKP b28 + GlaDOS v1.24 and battery life was abolutely AMAZING.
Yet stil I had to flash something else
Not impressed by the ROM I tried – I reverted back to the AOKP b28 + GlaDOS v1.24 config, but I am not getting the same results for battery life.
And yes, this is al “tested” in the same conditions (like wifi/ 3G, screen on time, usage etc)
Why is it that I cannot reproduce equal results when trying the same config on diff occasions/ installs? Can anyone pls shed some light on this?

There are so much variables that could influence that.
Give it a few cycles both times. One can NOT judge battery life on one cycle.
Is your reception (GSM/Data) any good or is it weak is one factor you can not influence.
How many mails are pushed, waking up the phone, how many messages, phonecalls etc. etc...
Over all, giving it a few cycles you should have "compareable" results (which means not the same but similar).
Circumstances were about the same.
May be I should just give it a couple of days
But sometimes it's just immediately right when flashed and remains so. When I try that config again after a couple of days, batterylife is remarkably poorer
Just strange.

Do you check for Wakelocks if your battery drains faster then expected?
btw: love Texel
No wakelocks since I used it for 3 hrs straight both times
Love Texel too really really nice place to live
Hi,
since a week I have the rom on my xperia pro. It is very fast, no problems. Only bad battery life. I use the kernel from the zip, 3.4.62-nAa+ [email protected] Sep 26 2013.
Can you help me? Which 4.2 or 4.3 ROM is much better in battery life? Which kernel can I use with this roms?
Accu consumtion shows 55% display. The brightness is on minimum, like 15-20%, backlight for buttons off, backlight for keys 25%. Is this a true treshold (55%)? on my stock rom is was 5 - 10%.
Is there a principiell difference between speed/battery-life on 4.1/4.2/4.3 android versions?
Can I change kernel (I know how to install) without news rom installation or wipe all/data/factory? should I delete dalvik cache? Is it enough?
thanks a lot! I hope you hae tipps for better rom AND battery life
best regards
samu
Same problem here
I'm sorry, i can't give a solution,
furthermore i am looking myself for a reason.
I have exactly the same problem with my MK16i, same CM-Version since about a week.
With a maximum use of approx 20 minutes a day, the battery hardly lasts 24h!
What is this? I see no "big" background processes running. Display : 35-40%, hibernation/ idle: 35-40%.
As if something is working in the background to make me insane!

1. Please don't compare ROMs for battery life, test them out yourself as comparing of ROM is not allowed.
2. Either use kernel in ROM zip(img file) or Raven's Dark Kernel. No other kernel will work with CM10.1
3. You can change kernel without flashing a new ROM, but the kernel must be compatible with the ROM or it will not run.
4. To save battery life, turn off your data connection when not in use, dim the brightness of the display, kill all background processes.etc. Please search for ways to save battery life.

If you have root, use greenify.

CM10.1
I use cm10.1 LegacyXperia with the darkKernel and with the Nova Launcher. Actualy I think this is best combination für performance, battery life and stability. I tryed beansteak 4.2, 4.3, LegaxyXperia 10.2 and others.
