Crt stands for cathode ray tube. As in what old TVs used to use. Its a type of screen off animation. Google is your best friend. Not being mean just saying

By now the OP probably knows what CRT is!
I have a hard time seeing what the big deal is. It is usually the first question asked in a new Dev thread.
Maybe its just me, but I want my phone to be awesome when its ON and not when I turn it off!
The CRT animation is very nostalgic to those of us old enough to remember black and white TVs and the way they turned off

The app in the market you suggest isnt very good. Way to many steps for one, and the animation isnt very nice compared to the nexus s. But thanks anyways.

Because then he has to look through it. He already did the wok of providing the animation. All u need is th little work of searching.

yes but that gets flashed, this is an app that half ass does what the nexus does stock, I love the leak but too slow compared to ACS 1.1

I get that but you don't need to look through it he should know. when someone asks for something or a link i provide one because its nice to do instead of searching forever for it.
hey guys.. that crt animation (screen shut off) and the screen over shot (orange glow) are actually add-ons to that rom. they aren't actually part of the rom. you have to d/l the rom, install it, then flash all the rest of the add-ons.
Why don't we have the screen on animations for the EE03 and CM7 releases...what's the difference from the screen off animation?

Yes, there is a thread for it using an app to install it, but I can't remember what it was called. The CRT on animation was borked from what I remember, but CRT off was working fine. Or was it vice-versa?
