Someone is going to post a pissy response so I'd suggest searching through the threads of where you downloaded the ROM from. I'm sure its been addressed as to whether or not its a bug

Will a ROM fix this??

I just got a new sgs2 thru a warranty exchange, but for some reason this one doesnt have a lockscreen. I press the power button and It just opens to my homescreen, also when I hold the power button it just shuts down instead of giving me the lil options of shutting down, airplane, etc. will installing a ROM fix these issues or do I gotta get a new one again?? Thanks

Yes a new rom should clear this up np. the rom im using actually gives you the option to remove the lockscreen all together. the prior user of your phone must have removed the lockscreen.... Either that or they have some shady software program that restores the phones at tmobil.

Ok good, tomorrow im borrowing my sis' laptop so I can root this phone and install a ROM. Hopefully that fixes it.

Cannot get stock Screenshot working!!

Help!! I flashed my rom to juggernaut v5. Everything was working fine until I found out my screen capture wasn't working. I uninstalled some bloat.. Not the ScreenCapture apk, it's still there. Help!! /:

Jugs doesnt have the stock screen capture. You have to long press the power button and screenshot from there.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Which screenshot are you talking about? The power menu one or the home key+power button combo method?
Juggs removed TW screenshot and added their own VIA power menu.

Just install a 3rd party screenshot app from the market than. Screenshot it by eddy kim seems to work pretty well..

how? how do i shut off this phone???

ok by no means am i a n00b but usually you would hold the power or a second or two and then a menu would come up and say: "airplane mode, data, restart, power off." (i think i missed some but you get it). but i dont have that when i hold the power button nothing happens also some how i have on screen buttons on LG8 and i dont know what i did???? how do i get that menu back?????
EDIT: i pushed this in ADB http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1213237&d=1342909128 (it was supposed to add the 4 in 1 reboot mod) and i got it from the 9th post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769661 then rebooted lost the menu and got onscreen buttons...... stock LG8 rooted
Pulling the battery always works.
But I would unroot and flash back to stock and start over.

Reflash your ROM
Just use quick boot to get to recovery
I'm guessing you have cm10/aokp one or the other
I've used quick boot many times with no problem on multiple s1,s2,s3 and nexus devices with no problem
Also by reflashing your ROM you overwrite all mess ups you did with out a wipe
@zander that was a cool find I didn't know about so thanks

Did you use some MOD for a specific ROM, on another one? Like the one from FreeGS3 on Blazer?
Check if the mod is compatible with your ROM.

link Ringer volume and notification volume

Anyway to do this. When I put vol up and down it only does ringer volume and not notification. On my s3 they were linked. Any suggestions?

I was about to post the same question but I found your post. I have exactly the same problem and just wondering if you found a way to fix that?
There is no way to link up since ICS. It was like this in Note I too. So Note 2 is the same is normal.
Now I am using Audio Manager Pro and set 3 shortcuts widgets - silent mode, very loud mode and low volume mode. Its linking both Ringtone and notificatuon when I set as profile widget only. Hope it helps.

How come this isn't possible anymore? Been looking for a way to make them link but big ended up with nothing working
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I've got the same problem & i just noticed before that sony‘s devices had that choice to make them link or unlock although they were not ics device.
But i still believe there is a way to solve it...
Im wondering if its jelly bean related. As my Mrs s3 could do it. Then she did an OTA to JB and it stopped working.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Bump for answer.
This isn't a JB issue though, my Gnex linked ringer and notification volumes up to 4.2. So I don't know why Samsung would disable this feature in TouchWiz.
Anyone figure this out yet? I installed the NOTEorious rom hoping it would have them linked but it didn't either. I had installed at least 4 roms on my old Epic and every one of them had this link option. Seems weird they would still not provide it. Also, I want the volume keys to change tracks when the screen is locked which even blackberry's had and yet Samsung still can't put it on the phone. All my old Epic roms had that functionality too.
I might try Jedi X rom, any one know if it add these functions?

Any way to fix home button wake up bug?

Dont know what else to call it really but I know this is happening with all of our devices.. which is when the screen times out and u press home to wake it up it takes u back to default homescreen. The sgs3 doesnt react that way and ive had to get used to hitting the power button instead. Any ideas? This would be amazing and greatfully appreciated.

I can't replicate this issue. I let my screen timeout and pressed the home button and it simply turned the screen back on to where I left it.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I've had it happen. You press he home button immediately after the screen goes black, and it wakes the screen up, but also takes out of what ever you are in and takes you to the home page. I've retrained myself not to go for the home button, but the power button.

This is really an issue, "immediately" hitting the home button when it goes to sleep? Why not just avoid letting it go to sleep or hit the power button? This seems like a non issue to me and I've never had it happen.
but my post does not help the OP so good luck with that, sorry for the editorial.

Are you using stock LEAK ?
I think this is a Jellybean 4.1 issue. My Note 2 has the same problem, but my wife's Galaxy S3 didn't when she was on ICS. Last week the phone updated to JB and now the problem exists.
This is definitely related to Jelly bean but I'm not sure if it is strictly a Touchwiz Jelly bean issue. It happens when I removed S Voice from the home button double press. It happens on the S3 and when my Note II comes in I bet it will happen on there too.
There are a lot of people that noticed it and I even saw someone open an issue with Google, although I'm not sure it is entirely a Google issue.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39326
The last line is the issue maybe.
"I want the single tap to be more snappy - for that I must disable s voice, but when I do it this bug raises its head. "
Do you guys have s voice disabled on the home button to save that lag time?
I disabled the s voice on the home button but still have the lag.
