See in these pics.. the text is overlapping.. any way to fix it?
You can either remove the upper tab or change the grid to 3x4. Other than that, nothing you can do. It's overlapping because the screen is tiny. You can also try making the icons smaller from the preferences.
If my memory serves me correct, there is a setting for this in the go launcher settings panel, I think you must untick auto size or fit or something like that. I have never had this problem before but I dont use go luncher anymore (I don't like it)
maybe its a your ROM? I am sure that updating my ROM once (I think to the Indian version) changed and aligned my icons better but I am not sure. I change ROM's often
Sticking with the South African version now thanks to Sir Doky
No such option as far as I can see. The only similar option is for the home screen, and it's for widgets.
Also it might be your system font because I've never had that problem with Go.

Can't you change the font size settings to make them a bit smaller, would that work for you?
From the GO Launcher menu, go on Visual, scroll down to Font, press App Name Size, then press DIY Size and select a smaller text size...

you're on the old version of go launcher
Who, me? That's the version that the custom rom I'm using has..

BTW my Menu:
And you noticed that in that picture!
No idea mate - does the wallpaper setter scale down the pictures to some kind of jpeg?
Mmmh that's weird..perhaps android compresses the image chosen as wallpaper pretty much like win7 does? BTW in my humble opinion you should share that wallpaper wether we get the hang of this or not
Hahaha, i just made the wallpaper. Even i view it on gallery, still the gradient is linear. Am a graphic artist that is why it is very easy for me to notice this.
Ok, will upload the original wallpaper later on my pc, so you can test it on your desires. Thanks guys

So do you think, this type of rendering is normal? It's like we're using 65k color format.

He is telling you to download a program called "Wallpaper set and save".
I have used it too and for some reason, it seems to make the wallpaper look better.
You should try it out.
And share the wallpapers so that we can see if ours do the same.

hahaha, my mistake, ok, let try that, thanks
WOW! that really did the job, thanks a lot. so the "gallery" of htc sucks i guess, or the graphic rendering of either Eclair or Froyo sucks, co'z as i still browse on the gallery, the linear gradient of the image still exist.
Anybody find another dialer that works with our phones? I'm not a huge fan of the stock dialer.
Go contacts
Dialer One is pretty bad ass.

Trying out Touchpal Dialer by Cootek... I used Dialer One on my Nexus One and got on well with it but want something with a crisper UI...
+1 for Touchpal dialer.

ended up dumping touchpal dialer... Watchdog was flagging it as hi CPU even when the phone was idle... trying out GoDialerEX right now but have a feeling i'll find myself back with DialerOne... stock dialer is seriously lacking! why cant i click a pic of a contact after typing a few letters of their name and get actiuons like SMS, call, Open contact etc. the way I can with every other dialer??
Same about TouchPal... liked the crispness of the UI

+1 on this one, most of the apps they have are very good and user friendly.
go dialer/contacts is the best out, a lot of options/themes and stable
yup tried all 3 mentioned here and liked go dialer/contacts the most clean with options and had the functions I liked.

Yup... I'm running GoDialer EX at 200 as opposed to the stock 240 density and all is well... The green "call" butten is a tiny bit stretched but its tons better than the way the stock dialer looks at 200
Anyone know of a dialer like the one is sense...it was great at connecting pictures to Facebook and still only showing my Google contacts

Hi I want to share the apps I use to make my Samsung Galaxy 2 look like it has a higher resolution. I tried lcd density but I didn't like it because it messed up a lot of apps. So I downloaded go launcher ex. It has a setting where you can change app icon sizes and grid sizes. So I made the app icons smaller and made it a 5x5 grid so I can fit more apps on the screen. Then I downloaded a font size app and made the font of the phone smaller. I also change the default zoom in the browser to far. I feel like it makes the screen look better than stock and not make me want the galaxy nexus screen so much.

Ok first view my screenshot at the bottom of this post.
My current setup:
LauncherPRO, status bar toggled hidden, black background, and custom dock icon images, black (so they appear hidden)
What I want:
Ideally, I want NO dock icons.
I use google gesture search for everything. There is an extra app that makes google gesture pop up when I long-press the search button, so i'd like to remove that icon as well.
Please help with any ideas!
Also I am liking the idea of invisible widgets.
I want to have secret ones, where I scroll left-side to open x app, or pinch and zoom one area of the screen to toggle wifi, etc.

Bump.
Essentially I want no homescreen.
Using the search button long-press shortcut to gesture search is all I need.
I might throw a hidden lock on there as well.
I want it to appear that my device is powered down to the average user.

I use Go launcher and Swipe pad. Nothing else on my homescreen. Toggling statusbar (swipe up or down) and no icons in my on my taskbar. I double tap to get to my app drawer. I use swipe pad for quick access to what I use most. I like it no one can figure out my phone.

First of all, sorry for my bad english .I'm not a developer but just a galaxy nexus owner that want a little more from his phone. :good:
So, i'm here to show you an idea that i think could be useful for us. Since i got my galaxy nexus GSM, i always wanted to profit about the large screen our phones has, and the bars are a little invasive. The statusbar and the navbar are very useful and i don't like to replace them with LMT launcher or somethin similar.
Last night i got an "illumination" (LOL) and so that's it:

}
A scrollable navbar that includes the statusbar with notifications. When you click on the clock it should show the expanded notifications.
I repeat that its only an idea. If it will be interesting , we could contact some developers and maybe a day we can have it ! :good:
I think it's a great idea! :good:
Great! I would like to know if someone can do this. I can help you
I love this idea~!!
amazing idea
If i get some free time I will look into it a bit more
thank you for your replies!

This is a beautiful idea to give more space.
