CPU overclock in Official MIUI v4 ARC S - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Official MIUI v4 . stock plus ICS kernel , this kernel doesnt support overclocking ,
I have tried doomlord's MIUI kernel, but it stuck in boot loop.
which kernel should i use for overcloking my cpu.

MIUI roms can use the equivalent cyanogenmod kernel, though with a few modifications... there should be a link in SaOSsinX MIUI V4 which can be o/c'd to 1.6, try that.

[Q] Kernel for overclock

Is there a stable Kernel for the stock 2.3.5 ROM? I want to overclock my Wildfire S but I want to be stable. Because before flashing 2.3.5 I tried to put custom Kernel for 2.3.3 from here but when I overclocked it, it freezes on screens and I need to pull out the battery. So is there stable custom Kernel for 2.3.5 stock ROM?
Maybe your CPU couldn't handle the overclock.
Each yield of processors are different some better than others especially when overclocking.
I had stock rom 2.3.3 with overclock kernel and I was running at 806mhz no problems.
Wait for a overclock kernel, theres none available yet, then try it.

[Q] which rom is the best ?

hi everyone!
I want to root and install a new rom on my friend's Xperia Arc ...
but I wanted to know which ROM is the best for high score benchmarks(like antutu) and the stabliest for the everyday use...
My option one is the JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.1
the 2nd Cyanogenmod nightly
the 3rd cyanogenmod stable...
if a better rom is not on the list please tell me
And can i overclock with the stock kernel of the stock ics ?
Cheers...
Arconium ICS V2.0 with Aroma installer
Mooded ICS 100.0 by Chaosfirzen
you need to root and unlock the bootloader... why would you have CM nightly 2nd and CM stable 3rd? and you can overclock the stock kernel but faliure can happen so use a custom kernel for OC
Arconium 4.0 ICS
CM7.2-Stable
heres a whole selection to choose from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
the best rom i would suggest is ka21 in terms of battery life while in idle mode, it gives me as low as 0.2 % battery loss per hour(measured using battery drain from play store). it is very diffrent and even has jellybean mod.
if you would want to overclock the stock kernel then use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673476 . if u have an unlocked bootloader, you can even flash custom kernels. note that an unlocked bootloader CAN be relocked.
for me its JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.1 which is good for everyday use.
UI wise for me its better looking with the original look and feel of the android 4, and usable than others.
But it all depends on personal preference.
I used every moded rom for xperia arc and i stayed with stock 4.0.4 with few modification (mainly Xperia S app, any modified sustemUI) and obviously DooMKernel chaos v5
With every moded rom I have some problems (Lockscreen stuck for few minutes <<i cant unlock phone>> , CM9 camera app sux, on JJ sometimes i cant answer the phone, ChaosFriZen eat battery in less than one day) Maybe my phone is "broke" but with stock rom I have no problems...
Arconium 4 with few files from KA21(SemcDlna.apk) and Xperia S apps
and KTG kernel
I tried Mooded but is full of bugs and not as fast as arconium

[Q] nAa kernel

can some 1 give me a link for nAa kernel v 2.6
i remeber when i used it with jb 4.2.2 i didnt get any lag or reboots at all
nAa only made 3.0.8 and 3.4.48 kernel for Arc/Arc S. 2.6.32.60 kernel was only for MDPI devices.
Try fusion kernel. One of the best 2.6 kernels.

what kernel do you prefer, Lupus v8 or Turbo kernel?

I am trying to decide witch kernel i need out of these two. turbo kernel 3.1 or lupus v8
both have pros and cons
Turbo kernel 3.1 (PROS) can install mostly all android versions (GB and up) both stock and aokp
Turbo kernel 3.1 (CONS) has a small but annoying glitch, in stock ics based rom screen animations are broken
lupus v8 (PROS) does all its supposed to.
lupus v8 (CONS) Can only install akop roms, ALS is disabled

Id say turbo has more pros and it's only con is in stock ics while lupus can't even use stock ics. But I think lupus has a little better performance though it'd hard to tell with jelly bean
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
depends...
if you want performance and speed(which most jb and ics roms don't have)you should use the Turbo kernel.
but if you want android's features, such as voice typing(offline)and other things you can use both, but i recommend turbo again(it's my favorite kernel,i manged to have all of JB features on it,but unfortunately i deleted the JB rom(slimbean) by accident)

i ll say turbo kernel 3.1 its better overall..and its newer than lupus jbV8..performance wise its very similar..in some JB roms i have more antutu score with lupus, others with turbo..little difference in each case..but just for more options, i d go with turbo 3.1.
