I can't decide really, the white one looks beautiful but i had a white galaxy s ii, and it ruins the continuity of the screen, makes the bezel on the front stand out and therefore it looks bigger , the gun metal grey version is nice, but it's nothing spectacular, which version will you choose?
definitely the gray...i don't want spuds asking me if it's an ipoop
Gray for me also
hehe .... just evened out the poll ... grey for me too
EDIT: just looked at the white again and now i cant decide i guess ill make the choice on the spot ... depends on how they look up live
i still can't decide
Going white. Grey looks too.... plain.
If im going to have it for a while it must be pleasing to my eye, I care not if people think its a iphone.
I will take the White:
-To change from N1,DHD and Sensation I had (and have)
-Because it looks smaller
-Because I like futuristic star wars black and white design
well i actually am still in a state where i can't decide
however i wonder if the white one is very infective?
maybe not the right chose of words, but i mean if the white will get dirty is it easy to clean or will it lose it's whiteness over time?
and before you are going to ask me weird stuff... i hobby allot with cars and in the garden and stuff.. >.<

Same here. White it is!
When I first saw the images from MWC I said grey.
Once I'd seen some high res shots of the two I quickly changed my mind.
I think the white shows off the design more and I think its a design that deserves showing off.
The only downside to the white one is that I don't like the silver lens surround.
Well we still need to see the final grey version, many bloggers pointed out the one from MWC is not final and the Vodafone video shows a different finish
I dont know why i obsses about it so much if it would end up being on a case, yes polycarbonate may be highly durable but there's no lens cover for the camera so it's vulnerable to scratches

where did u see no lens cover? its definitely recessed behind the silver ring its pretty well protected
the Desire HD is similar to this and its a very good solution

Maybe it's a little recessed, im not convinced, i own an inspire 4g and my camera lens has two scratches
Now this is a real camera lens cover
I can't decide either. I love the white from the front and sides, but I prefer the back on the black/grey.
I think I'd go for white out the two but I don't think I'll get the choice anyway as I'm with T-Mobile (UK) and supposedly Vodafone are getting an exclusive on the white version, other networks getting grey

Man I went back and forth on this so much, eventually called clove at the last minute and changed to white. Grey looks awesome though! I just thought the white showed off the body styling a bit more, and the glossy edges didn't stand out as much on the white. Plus I can find where I put it down much easier
White without a shadow of doubt... It just stands out and really shows of the curve and design of the phone. I've had the phone a few days now and there is still not many people out there using White phones will also makes you feel a little unique haha.
I was also undecided about which color to get but eventually I ordered the white one.
I like both but after seeing them both I went for the dark one.
It has to be white.
This phone is made to be white, it looks absolutely fantastic.
If I could only get grey, I wouldn't get one at all. The difference is night and day.

White looks great BUT get's dirty very quickly and could stain much more easily. I put my white SGS2 down on a desk at work and afterwards had a small blue stain from a drop of ink or so on it. It took a lot of cleaning alcohol and rubbing before that had faded away! With the 'texture' on the back of the One X I'm not sure that would ever come off.....so black it was for me this time ;-)
Grey here.
The White will end up a piss stained yellow eventually, regardless of claims made. The iPhones don't suffer such a fate because of the glass. Any polycarbonate discolours in time.
I also don't like the fact the white makes the phone more easily identifiable in public. People will know what it is as soon as you pull it out of your pocket. That's just asking for trouble.
It's a shame because overall I think the white looks stunning but there's just too much unknown risk for comfort.

I can wipe the ink marks easily. I saw some videos with some one writing with a ball pen on the back of white one x and wiping it so easily. So, I am with white.

there are already problems with the white one getting dirty and can't be cleaned
i got a dark one... seems better to me
It really depends on how you look after your phone...but here is the real truth. The polycarbonate body isn't all that tough despite what HTC have said. The white one IS stain resistant but not stain proof!!
But the real issues actually lie with the grey one.
1) It is a fingerprint magnet. Even cleaning it with a damp cloth doesn't remove the fingerprints easily. You will need mild detergent mixed with water on the cloth.
2) It goes SHINY when scuffed. In fact, a few grey models I saw were actually slightly marked out of the box from new.
3) Rubbing at it over time, such as in a pocket or from brisk cleaning, may cause the finish to change where this happened.
The big advantage of the white one, is that the texture differences are much less visible especially if rubbed or has fingermarks and is actually, and surprisingly, likely to look better if not exposed to too much staining risk.
Having said all of that, I think the grey looks more refined and sophisticated. BUT, I ended up with a white one for what I consider those practical reasons above. I absolutely hate when matte surfaces go shiny when they get rubbed/scratched etc.
The Xperia S is the absolute WORST plastic phone for a long time. A fantastic phone badly let down by the choice of casing material. The black matte surface rubs off VERY VERY easily. The white one stains almost immediately you have it and the staining doesn't come off.
This is one area I think Apple have pegged. The iPhone 4/4S phones simply do not age with careful-normal usage. A good choice of metal and scratch resistant glass surfaces. OR HTC should do what they did with phones like the Evo 3D, where you can replace the whole back with a new one when it gets scruffy.
Black? they only do White and Gray
Bought TWO WHITES ones... one for me and one for my wife... now having difficulty to differentiate between both ... but White is outstanding..

White!!
Oredered a white without seeing in real life. It was really beautiful when i first saw it. Nog i've send it Doa , and in the mean time I saw a grey one live in a shop. So if I wanted too I could get a grey one now, but there is no doubt I'm getting a white one again!!
I really didn't like the grey one... It looks like just another dark rectangle smartphone... You don't see the design as with the white one.
The grey one in the shop was full with fingerprints, smudge, uneven coloring, just weird. And the white one was as new...
And that from a guy that never tought he would want a white cell phone:d.
White and hopefully an invisishield is made soon incase of spills

Easy question. I'm going to buy this device very soon and I'm torn between the two. In one hand the white looks so 'in your face' and sexy, but i'm afraid it will get dirty extremely easily. On the other hand, the black is sleek and classy but honestly I like the white better; however, I'm afraid it will get dirty very fast and look bad.
What does XDA think? Which is your favorite color?
I think white bezels distract too much from the screen even though the white hox looks prettier, grey is more functional.
Grey because white will show marks more over time, also white makes it look to iphoney.
I have a white, had it for over a month and it's no dirty. Granted, I haven't been doing any dirty work.
Also, the bezel is pretty small, especially at the sides, you don't notice it, it's lively screen.
And my white one could hardly be mistaken for an iPhone!
Never seen a grey one, apparently the back goes shiny with wear.
White definitely looks better to me but I got myself the gray one because of the earlier mentioned worry that it probably will get dirty and white plastic tends to bleach (is this the right word?) and turn yellow over time and this might affect the future resell value (+ it looks really ugly). Also the gray one looks a bit more professional.
I have the white one, wish I'd bought grey

At first I definitely wanted the white one, but after a while I started to doubt and nearly changed my order to the Grey one. I had not yet seen either devices in real life, though I think I got a peek from the Grey device during class. It looked absolutely terrible imo.
When the white one arrived I was so happy I didn't change my order. Still am .
White would look really nice if the screen bezel was white. However with the black bezel its fugly!
I got grey. The white looks awesome but didn't want to deal with it getting dirty

I got a grey one because it looks classy and there is a sort of harmony between the screen and the color ( and i heard the white one get scratched more easily )
Grey will make it look bigger.
The white one will give the illusion that its smaller, you'll be looking at the screen only at first glance.

No..its the grey one that scratches more easily....
Let's make this clear, the white one does not get dirty, any marks I've got on it have rubbed straight off. Some grey ones have a problem with an oily shiny look when in contact with something for a while, infact its probably just the polycarbonate, the white one probably gets it too but because its white its much less noticeable. I don't understand what people mean by it looks smaller, but it Deffo looks better then the grey

I have a Nokia C5 its back side is of Grey colour look so shiny and attractive, you are right white colour can be easily dirty and if you got scratches or anything on your phone hope not, they will look so visible. But doesnt matter if you take care of your phone, If your mind says White then go for White.
White is definitely sexier. (Imo, the grey version is ugly as hell)

The grey one goes shiny if you scratch it or rub at it and it doesn't come off like finger oil/grease. The white one doesn't show these marks as easily. Honestly, if its durability from scratches, the white one is the better choice. Nobody knows how the white one discolours over months yet....that remains to be seen.
white only because when you look from the screen side it looks better, and i prefer the silver ring and not the brown (?) ring.

This is the first one I did with extended battery cover.

Bump just got done sprayed the red cover had to sand down the primer to get rid of any texture from the battery cover smothered it down with 800g then applied the paint. Here are a few pics. Also the texture will go away as the paint is curing andthe gloss will change as u can see from the pictures it starts out glossy and quickly begins to lose that gloss.
Enjoy the pics next will be the white parts.

That's could be the reason. If it were mine I would try a different color because u see some white ones already though this will be custom another color might be nice and more custom than a white lte nexus. I didn't realize the frame and screen are attached on the gs3. I planned on painting the white model silver bezel black along with home button and earpiece but seeing as how screen is attached to screen I'd rather wait til I damage my screen or just leave it as is til next nexus phones. Hopefully they are as easy to modify as the last.

Tuesday bump got the white paint ready and masked the nexus frame now I need to lightly scuff the body and buttons and hopefully paint today. Heat is not on my side though had to use a real slow reducer to get paint to layout similar to the red. Blue tape is low tack so I used that for the glass so it doesn't leave tape residue. Its a low tack fine line tape and the yellow is a 3m masking tape. Let me know what u think last is a sample of the white it will end up. Photos taken in a semi badly lit area so white is actually straight white.
Enjoy

I've been a while wanting to transform my black galaxy into a white one. I've been reading a lot of posts and I can see that the main problem is that it's pretty difficult to change the frontal screen into white, cause if you change that part the screen is going to break, And of course, buying a white full screen is insane cause it's just too expensive. However, I've seen a screen for 8 dollars in ebay (apparently it's not just the frontal, it's the full screen) and I would like you guys to tell me if you would recommend this screen:

It's way too much trouble. If you want to change the phone to white, you might as well buy a white GSII. If you change screen, you'll need the chrome bezel-ed frame as well.(black screen has a black frame). Then you'll need a new white housing. I wonder how many internal hardware components will break in the process?
Or you could make it black and white. Mine was originally black. All I did was change the back housing to white, and viola. All for just 12 bucks on ebay. I want some uniqueness in the World of monotonic black and white, red and pink S2s. A certain combination. Mine is a 2000Mah setup so it'll appear thicker because of the supplied battery cover.
(Also in my sig, but I uploaded higher res pics + more of them.)
Good luck.
I opted for an all aluminium-glass-carbon fiber appearance and feel for my black GS2. It feels like a completely different phone!
That is one good looking s2 man were did you get that???
MS1 Neatrom 4.4 Jeboo 4.x +
It's a normal Galaxy S2 with a Sweet-armor and some carbon fiber 3M Di-Noc cut to size on the battery cover.
The "chrome bezel" bit is part of the metal plate that the lcd is glued to.

I think it doesn't look that great with the back covering in black and the front part in white . Anyways I think the screen was good and I've just made a mistake. I think there was an error, and the screen costs now 86$. I should have bought it U_u

There was no error; $86 seems like a much more appropriate price for a GS2 AMOLED panel. You can buy the glass separately, and install it separately, although it is highly recommended that you don't. And do you mean front part in black and back part in white?

So you changed the front screen to white and the back to black? Or are you saying I made my S2 uglier than usual with the black in front and the white behind? haha I thought the black will blend with the screen well enough at certain angles. I don't like white front phones either, since screens are usually bluish black. I can't imagine what it'll look like with a white front and a black back.
Anyway for those wondering whether if the camera and vibrator modules are stucked on to it permanently, no they are just held with a piece of tape to the assembly and it's easy to pry them apart with a pair of tweezers with careful handling.

Yeah, it might be a bit bulkier, but it feels like much more of a phone, if you know what I mean. From the top of my head, the S2 weighs 116g, and my S2 with case and battery and all weighs about 158g. It is much heavier, but I like it.

It is true; officially, the Galaxy S2 only supports up to 32 GB, but that's because SDXC cards are formatted using exFAT by default. If you format it using FAT32, then you're good to go.
