Rooting-For new members here of XDA Galaxy Y Sub-Forums, Rooting is the Basic Mod we do on our Galaxy Y,Since we bought our Galaxy Y at Samsung stores so it comes with limitations to prevent messing up with your System-level files so the Root method is the answer so you will be the true master of your Galaxy Y.
Advantages &Disadvantages of Rooting
Advantages
-You're already the true master of your Galaxy Y.
-You can now use some Root apps from Play Store.
-You can modify now your Galaxy Y like Custom ROM's,Custom Boot Animations etc. that requires ROOT.
Disadvantages
-Your phone's warranty is already voided,It means that if you messed with your System files ,Then the phone manufacturer will reject your phone as it is rooted already,However you can UnRoot your phone if you have problems regarding the buttons etc.
-You can't use some of their Services that comes with your phone.
Just Google "How to Root Galaxy Y" then follow the directions so you can obtain now root access.
use search button and you will get information faster than waiting someone to answer. don't be lazy.
Ty for answer Sean De Jesus.. I heard for temporary root.. Is it exist? If I root phone, should I install custom rom or can only root? Would I got all settings like custom rom? What if something goes wrong? If they wont turn off or something..? I need more info..

Temporary Root will root your device but once you restarted or turned off your phone,Its gone. Its a good step for new phones to test if root is working fine on that device.
It depends on your mood or your knowledge about modding your Galaxy Y,If sonething goes wrong with your Custom ROM then flash back to your Stock ROM or if you have a backup called "Nandroid backup" you can restore it using Skin's CWM.
rooting is just made in order for you to be able to have admin privileges on your phone so that you can by-pass system restrictions
no need to worry, you can always unroot your phone
using the unroot.zip
ps: it's just piled down due to post like this, use the search button to find it
Pls search before posting..

Second method worked just fine for me, did you enable Usb-debug mode in the developer settings ?
(The developer settings are hid by default, you can bring them up by tapping the "Build Number" Dialog in the "About device" Section of the system settings)
Rooting with VROOT
Hey there, i've just got the Ace 3 too.
I downloaded a chinese software called VROOT and rooted my phone.
Later on install SuperSU which then updates into its binaries and asked me if i want to uninstall the chinese root app.
And in case anyone tries the CWM method and the phone stucks at 'rebooting recovery' .... just reinstall from KIES update or download the files from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S7275R and flash with odin ..
Give it a try, hope it helps !
Rooting with CWM is possible
A new unofficial CWM recovery is build.
Thus rooting with CWM is possible too.
Good luck!

I suggest You read up those terms first and then root. Even just searching those terms on Google and xda would do a lot good.
Download iroot >> www.iroot.com/
Install to pc
In Mobile allow > usb debugging (Setting>developer options>)
Connect with usb cable
Click root
Done
Try to root program like last comment also you can use kingo root. If it does not work, first you should check your firmware version.
generally Xperia S devices has 6.2.B.1.96 firmware version. This version has a problem with root and you can find how to root this version form xda
I used iroot and I says I've successfully rooted my phone. But it seemed very easy, is this a real root or I need something more?
Hello everyone
I would like to root my new 5T but I have no idea where to start. Rooting is new to me so I would really appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.
I've noticed that there are alot of different ROMS available, I have no idea what the difference is between all of them and which one would be the best for me.
I'm not looking for the most complex one out there. I'm from the Netherlands so it's a bit hard for me to understand all the topics on this forum and to explain myself correctly.
All help is much appreciated! :good:

Thanks! I'll have a look at that.
I read somewhere that some apps won't work on a rooted device such as Pokemon Go and that you have to install something in order for them to work. Could someone explain this?
Some apps won't work if rooted. Your options are to either not use that app or try hiding root with Magisk (one of phone apps that manages root access). If you use SuperSU for root access or have XPosed installed, then your only option is to not use the Pokemon Go (or whatever app was giving you trouble).
Hello,
I recently started using Moto G6 Play, and am wondering now what is the best and easiest option for root. I searched a bit on the forum and found one thread for root that includes unlocking bootloader and is more complicated than some info i have found on google - rooting with KingoRoot without pc (if that's even possible).
Device info: XT1922-3, 3/32gb
Build number: OPPS27.91-177-2
Android 8, latest security patches, available 9 Pie update.
Soo, my question is - Will methdos like KingoRoot work because that will suit just fine for me since i do not want to flash anything extra, but only debloat and optimize stock rom? And i suppose my bootloader is locked because when i power up with volume down + power it says oem_locked so thats another reason for pcless root.
Anyone can help?

DONT USE KINGO ROOT. For one you have to unlock the bootloader anyway so you can root please just use my guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-play/how-to/guide-t3929928 to avoid screwing up your phone with any root like KINGO root. You have come on here asking what the preferred method is and over 5,000 people are using my guide lol so my guide is the preferred. You need all that in order to pass play store safety net if you even want be able to download alot of games or if you download the apks the game won't load and KINGO root 100% fails safety net checks to make sure your passing it

Hi, thanks for quick response,
Well yea, i gave up on KingoRoot after some researching that it might not be safest thing to use. But it seemed pretty handy for my situation. And yes i saw your guide and considered it as option but didnt really find any more reliable threads (maybe i didnt search long enough tho). Btw, as i noticed you method requires unlocked bootloader so if you have some thread available about it throw it here if you can, if not thanks anyways.
Regards

It's not an option, it's THE WAY. It's how to root.
Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, use TWRP to flash encryption disabler and magisk.
Systemless root is the way now. Root is in the boot.img now. One click roots are dead.
The end
