Boost of the speaker phone???? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have no luck finding an app that can help my speaker sound better, downloaded a couple of EQ apps but the sound was bad, did you guys know any app out there that could make the sound of the speaker be great?

Volume+ ...... you can use it to control EQ. works pretty well

Yeah Volume+, just like the other 20 threads about this recommend.

Well, first I did say that Volume+ and 4.0.4 but then I editted it because I realized you were asking boosting of sound quality.
4.0.4 does address the problem with speaker being too low. I don't even need Volume+ anymore, but I keep it anyways just incase I need to bump it up even louder although I don't think it's necessary.
The app comes with a equalizer that you can play around with to make quality better. The app itself is free (legally) on the dev's website if you want to give it a trial run before buying. Just go to the Volume+ page and visit the dev's website as its linked on that page

Speaker volume is putrid!

Coming from an iPhone, the speaker volume on my Galaxy Nexus is absolutely pathetic. I'm a big speaker phone user and I could barely even hear the person on the other end unless I'm in a completely silent room. Is there any way to increase the volume [dramatically]?
Volume+ in the market.

Appreciate the help but says it only works on Gingerbread and says it doesn't work on stock ROMS.
Just install it, it works...
Edit: ah its about the speaker phone, then you'll need root.

For the full version of volume+ go to the developer's website http://www.androidaudiohacks.com/ he has the full version and a beta the he is working on for the galaxy nexus
i find equalizer a much better solution.
just install equalizer from the market (or volume +, but i dont like this one as much). the speaker volume will easily double. once you install it, increase each frequency to max, then just close the app. volume is now good to go.
There is more than one equalizer on the market. Which one is the good one?

I find they are both equally worthless. They increase the volume of your device, but they ruin the sound quality. I find the volume to still be unacceptably low even using these apps.

i thought volume + ruined the sound quality when getting to an acceptable level of volume. maxed out equalizer and it's great now. not atrix great, but good enough.
DSP manager is better than volume +, theres a thread with a flashable version which is optimized for ICS. Amazing results

The one by smart android apps is the good one, it hooks into the system audio api.and cranks it up. Just raise each freq.
Dsp Manager http://goo.gl/vySXF Enjoy

Does this version of Volume+ stay "active" in the system. I had problems with previous versions of Volume+ and Equalizer not working unless I went and opened it everytime.
I just tried the DSPManager in comparison with Equalizer.
(EDIT) It works fine but Equalizer will go higher to the point of distortion if all the sliders are pushed maxed. Edit The lower two sliders maxed out will go to distortion maxed. I have all about 90% and she is loud as my old OG DROID.
Equalizer All the way. Play a known strong music file while adjusting or comparing apps.
Another Edit On my GN equalizer has to be started just once when the phone boots. I just go to the app and hit it. I am going to see if the Dev will make it start on boot. Other then that its the loudest one I have used.
DSPMngr maxed out does not distort and is just a teeny weeny bit lower.
Going back to Equalizer.
About having to enable it every time (EDIT) I was wrong, this app does not auto run after a boot. You have to tap it only once though.

Are you saying that you used the equalizer in the Volume + app? If so, what are your settings?

[Q] Sound issues and question

Riddle me this: how is it that an application like "Lookout Mobile Security" can make my phone scream with a loud volume but when I go to play some media or music on my Nexus it is so soft? What is "Lookout..." doing that no other app can replicate in getting a decent volume?
You must remember, its playing a sound designed to be loud and heard, not a low quality song.

I have noticed when I first got my GN that the speaker volume was pretty weak for videos/youtube/music... whatever really. I use high quality mp3 (320 bit rate) for all my music btw.
There are some apps to help with this of course.
1) Volume+ works great and would fix your problems of low volume alone.
2) If you're really into modding your phone. franco.Kernel Also has options to increase volume and improve sound quality.
I use both of them and the sound quality on my GN speakers is what I prefer now. Sounds great. I know it sucks to have to buy apps to improve something that should be granted out of the box for such a high end phone but it is what it is.
All Galaxy Nexus kernels have sound boost in them.

I do have volume + (free) and it does nothing I can tell, to enhance the sound,,, but If I purchase the app, you say there is a difference?
Volume+ definitely works with the paid version. Or I just use equalizer which works and is free.

I have the paid one, so I can't speak to the free one. I just set the speaker volume to +10 on my GN and it sounds really stronger then stock.
Also description on Free:
A Cyanogen Mod 7 or MIUI ROM is HIGHLY recommended. Running this app on a Stock ROM/Kernel may result in it not working, being far too quiet, or getting even quieter. PLEASE don't comment or rate badly if you are on a Stock ROM as this is most likely the problem.
Thanks.

I have noticed the newer AOKP builds 37/38/39 have much louder sound. Not sure if it is the AOKP Build or the new version of Lean Kernel, but I did notice my alarm is much louder than before.

Volume boost app for rooted phones

Hey all. I came from the photon 4g. I am looking for an app to boost volume when I play music. Any ideas as to what I can use? Thanks.

I personally like using Volume +. Has worked great for me on every ROM but CM10. didn't seem to make a difference on it :silly:
I have noticed on alot of threads that alot of people like PowerAmp. I myself have never tried it. The is also Awesome beats. Its like Beats audio. Search for it. I would post a link but Im kinda short of time to find it myself. Good luck sir.
PowerAmp is just a music player with a nice built in equalizer, but because it is an EQ, and does not affect tye actual oower output of the hardware, it will eventually cause distortion. I use PA, but I keep the EQ in check and do not use it to make it louder.
Volume+ has always been a terrible thing for me, causing audio skipping and distortion.
Beats is an EQ, and I think it sounds like garbage.
What we need is something like Voodoo sound, like we had on the Epic4G. It is a kernel modification that works at the hardware level to increase power output.

Headset volume not very loud

So I picked up my LG3 for sprint over the weekend. Loving the phone so far, coming from a HTC one M7. Definitely prefer the G3 in every aspect however one thing I noticed is the headset volume is not as loud. Which sucks because I use my phone at the gym and it's a big difference from the HTC one. Is there an app that you guys would recommend to solve this issue? I saw someone mention the Beats Audio app, but can't seem to find it...
OR am I stuck until we can get a root and load a kernel to fix this?

Which headset/earbuds are you using?
Which music player are you using?
I use PowerAmp for Android (I also purchased the unlocker).
This app has hands down the best equalizer/booster/settings for any aspect of listening to music.
Try the free version, if it has solved your problem you may consider buying the unlocker.
Hope this has helped you out

Thanks Man,
I can use the stock music player it comes with since it has an equalizer as well and noticed it does make it louder. However, I mostly stream through soundcloud and so the equalizer doesn't have an effect on that.
There are also equalizers that will alter all the sound coming out of the phone.
No matter what the audio source is.
This app does that, you might give it a try.

You can change all the audio settings using ViperAudio search XDA and you will find the page, i have used this and doubles the volume and clarity, must have android mod..
I am using klipsh ear buds and they are super loud. Hurts my ears to go past about 75%. And I don't have sensitive ears either. I have a jl w7 13.5 which blasts my ears about 2 hours a day

How to get max of sound quality for music listening?

Yo,
I like to listen to music, so i'd like to tweak the sound parameters on the phone to my taste.
What can be done in this direction?
Maybe you can recommend me some apps that are good to play with EQ and other sound influenting factors?
Poweramp.
If you mean like full system equalizer, there ain't any good one out there. They tend to make loudspeaker really quiet.
