Dash Featured on TNT TV Series "Leverage"

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the Dash phone seems to be pretty
popular on the TV series "Leverage" on the TNT network.
The girl of the gang has a Dash and a feature close-up of it is at the 18 minute mark of last weeks episode titled "The Lost Heir Job".
The model she has is not branded (not t-mobile), and has the "HTC" logo on the top left corner on the front and the logo again appears where the silkscreen for "T-Mobile" normally would be in the front center between the display and keyboard.
Just a FYI.

even after all these years, people still recognize it as one of the best phones ever made. Much respect to htc!

Well its not reeeeally a Dash since its not T-mobile, its an excalibur. But good find, I wonder what ROM its running.

Defo you only need to look @ the smartphones catagory to know the Excalibur is cult and will be for along time

Either they are just running a video in Windows Media on fullscreen (very probable)...
or there may be the insane chance they are using WebCam++ or something similar (I seriously doubt it). However that would be cool if the video was a direct feed of them videotaping another scene! Haha, movie magic

On topic but off is it anygood? as don't get in UK but sounds good from reading TNT weby...

Dash (part of one anyway) featured in series "24" on Fox!

A dismantled Dash (the keyboard and PCB, no LCD) was used as the detonator for the sewer bomb that exploded in episode 3 (Day 8: 6:00pm-7:00pm, at the 6:46pm mark) in the new season of "24" that aired this past weekend.

Yes, I can't recall what exact movies or series by I read sometime ago a guy from this forum posted some pictures of the series where our beloved dash appeared. Maybe searching in this forum you can find them.

The guy on one of those car shows on HDtheater was using a s620...as a phone!

Yeah, I made a post of another searies called "Leverage" (do a search of that word in this forum for the thread) that featured the Dash.

I now I've seen the main characters in "The Closer" and on the fifth season of "The Wire" use a T-Mobile Dash.

haha yeah I saw it in a CSI episode one time where they used it to do a live video stream of a fight to their laptop. it was cool ahah but I dont think it actually has that capability though I wouldn't be surprised.

I dunno, it just made me laugh tbh - The idea that there might be a smartphone out there that somehow - I dunno - some feature of it's design or it's manufacture that makes it especially good as a bomb.. and then if it were discovered that this particular phone was the same one we all walk around carrying all day - what nickname do *you* think it would pick up once it became known..?
Yeah, so this thread made the thought pop into my head - but I would deny that XDA is corrupting me..
Slightly more back on topic - one of the characters in the British show Spooks used a dash regularly until he was killed by a baddie - He was probably trying to be ninja & sneak up on them but the ugly stock ROM colours gave him away in the dark.

Since they looked like they were taken from a warehouse by a stocking employee I doubt it was their desire to have those photos get out. Maybe that's why.

I was told my store would have them tomorrow in store but cannot sell them til the 8th. We can't even turn them on til the 8th or we face termination.

It can if too much power is applied. In this case no. It just etches the surface.

The most important part is not the amount of power (or pulse energy) but the pulse duration (you use pulsed lasers for this kind of stuff). If the pulse duration is shorter or almost as short as the heat transfer duration between the atoms/molecules, melting is not a problem any more.
The pulse is "gone" before the heat can effect the nearby matter. You will get really sharp edges.

To win this would be awesome but I've never had any problems flashing anything so "unfortunately" I can't enter the competition, on the other hand I'm fortunate to never had any devices bricked!

Quick update for all who entered...
Just a quick update for all those who entered:
We received over a hundred contest entries, most of which were quite epic (perhaps even of the 4g variety)! Picking just 20 winners (10 GSM, 10 CDMA/LTE) was tough, so I added in 3 bonus winners who forgot to write in what type of Nexus they own, but still provided excellent stories. I will send those three an XDA-Developers T-Shirt instead.
Winners will be announced in an hour, at 11:30a Eastern time. At that point, I will shoot off PMs to the lucky few who had the most entertaining and spine-tingling stories asking for their mailing address.
Thank you to all those who participated in the contest. It's amazing how many crazy tales our mobile devices bring us!

Be patient.
HTC already confirmed the OTA will start rolling out by the end of July.
They discovered some further points they wanted to adress.
Thus I guess we'll start receiving it by the end of next week.

I hear ya buddy cause it seems whenever I usually get a new HTC flagship it usually always beats everything else on benchmarks or at least very close.

Hahahaha!!! Same!

Benchmarks are all over the place. Here's my highest and lowest. Not too happy with it cause it seems HTC flagships usually do much better.
