Hey, those actually work in my own CM9 build.
And with an ancient kernel, though it's spewing a lot of debug messages about wrong IOCTL_KGSL_TIMESTAMP_EVENT arguments.
this is gr8, it should be posted in the dev, section.
in ur signature ur freq is to 825 ? i thought the maximum is 806 can u explain what app u use to make it that high ?

You can actually go as high as 864MHz depends on the kernel.
Check out the latest cm7 by Alquez, it supports that frequency.

Hi, im thinking od downloading roalex update 1 bravo what do you think are there any better kernels.thx
1) Never heard of it
2) AOSP or sense?
Its on the rom manager i have oxygen 3.3 rom od something like that
For Oxygen, I thought _thalamus' default kernel was best
What if. I wanted to change my rom how will. I het my previous settings back?
Not sure what you mean? All roms come with a kernel (otherwise they would not work) so when you install a new rom, kernel is replaced.
Rather than rom manager, I always suggest learning to do things manually using recovery. You learn more and understand more of the process.

oh thanks i understand everything now. but why can i only overclock to 1113mhz on every rom. dont any roms have a kernel that i can overclock more than to 1113 sorry if im being a noob

Some kernels can go to 1190 Mhz, but most desires cannot handle this, or even 1152
yeah but i saw some people with even 1.9 on desire and someone else had stable 1382 mhz on opendeisre rom but i would like to get 1.3 ghz.yeah but i guess 1113 is nice to
1190 is the highest. Back in the open desire days it was 1305 but this was not true. A mistake was made and the incorrect multiplier was used in the kernel. It said 1305 but wasn't really. 1190 is max. Desire cannot handle more

Hello everyone I rooted my phone but I also want to OC it but I must be sure it will not brick my phone etc...
The link I found is this: freshnewsarea.com/tricks/overclock-samsung-galaxy-y-to-900-mhz/
Is this safe to do and is it compatible with 2.3.6 Gingerbread ?
Thanks In advance (sorry for the stupid questions but I don't want to brick my phone as my Dad would be very mad at me)

thanks for replying but I see that custom kernel is still in beta stage so it can be buggy isn't it ?
Yes it can be. But there are a lot of users out there with the kernel. Just follow the instructions and flash it using one of the many methods. You can only OC it to 900 MHz though. 1 Gz is too buggy.

it's based on DXKL2
it's ok to install it over stock rom DXLE1
your baseband will be the same= DXLE1 but your
pda and csc will downgrade to DXKL2
Oops my bad Leo is right I just checked it.

Both a2sd and merruk kernel is compatible. You need to the a2sd darktremor.zip for the a2sd to work though.

Smartass v2 uses 2-3 frequencies and decreases/increases freq as per the load. It is the best performance with max power saving gov. It has quite good results in benchmarks in xda. Ondemand and interactivex are some others. Refer these threads, they are quite informative: (first ones enough)

#3 - The most power saving governor is Ondemand. If you need a high performance governor, use smartassV2, which offers some battery savings.

Hi all
I have recently rooted my phone and have installed advanced stock kernel. Now i was thinking of to overclock my device but after wandering over countless threads gave up. I want to overclock my phone to 1.7 ghz, have have tried KA Xperia SSpeed kernel v7 but after installing the 1.7ghz kernel my device went into a bootloop and would boot after approx 30 sec after the lockscreen appeared. Next i went over to Doom kernel but realized it was only for gingerbread (i am currently running ics .45 firmware) plus i could download the files anyway due to some network error. I could find anything else regarding overclocking, so here i humbly ask again, is there any way to overclock my device to 1.7 ghz stable? Plus there wouldn't be any risk of OC'ing to 1.7 ghz as xperia sl has the same hardware and is factory OC'ed, would there? Any Help?
Thanx in advance
anyone?
If overclocking causes bootloop then your phone can probably not take the higher frequency. Not all can.
Also get this flashed newest software - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34244504

how come? xperia sl has the same chip but it is stable while mine is not?
PS Jelly Bean!!!??? HOW?
Ur bootloader is unlocked?
And btw, every phone is different. Some take 2 ghz without a problem, others get bootloop at 1,6 ghz. Also, overclocking isnt that good. its better to use a fast gouvernor and sheduler.
U can get jelly bean with a custom rom.

Depends on ur rom, on ICS smartassv2 + noop is good, on Jelly Bean interactive(X) + sio.
Why do u want to overclock?

If you're unlocked then flash advanced stock kernel and then flash paranoid android 2.55, it's sooo fast!

Try using a cpu app like 'cpu master'. Use settings to find an overclock frequency that's stable. You don't have to use the full overclock frequency.

1.9-1.7 are the max frequencys, yes. But you use an app to lower the frequency until the phone is stable. My x10 had a 1228mhz max kernel, but my phone would only be stable at 1190mhz. Some x10 would only run at stock, no overclock.

I'm currently using ARHD 33.1 and flashed the lONELyX #022 kernel, but my maximum frequency is capped at 1.3 Ghz.
Powersave is off and i've disabled EDP limitation and disabled the cap at 1.3GHz, but i still can't achieve 1.5GHz, can anyone tell me why this isnt working?
I've searched through the kernel thread but others seem to be able to get to 1.4 or 1.5, and I can't find an answer

Your kernel may not support 1.5ghz or there's a problem with the overclocking app your using.
Give me the link of the thread!

i used it till yesterday evening and 1.5 GHz was working... does it happen only with #22 LI? did you use UV or normal version? have you installed custom apps that can handle CPU max freq? have you tried to flash it again/another kernel/another kernel version and/or another hotplug?

Used the non UV version, I have SetCPU installed to handle the freq, i can set it to 1.5GHz, but it doesnt go above 1.3, even on performance governor, i've flashed different versions of this kernel, LS, LM, but none let me go to 1.5GHz.
