[Q] DarkForest kernel on Verizon TimeScape ROM? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well... is it possible?

Only if the kernel is stock-based or CM7. I've tested out both with success on a stock-based ROM.
Any mention of CM9 or ICS won't work whatsoever.

The ROM has TimeScape which is added libs and frameworks. Its based off of CM7 I believe.

No, not CM7 at all.
Either its from the UK ROM or the Verizon ROM. Depends on which one you have. You're locked into 2.3.3 with that one. CM7 is 2.3.7.

The ROM is based off of CM7 which was also created for R800x. It is based off the Verizon version of that. Or Verizon stock...

CM9 is the most stable ics rom for r800x, and I believe most use the darkforest kernel. I personally use a modified cm9 along with dk kernel and it's pretty sweet
Edit: Idk about doomlord's kernels because I stay far far away from them
CM9 Nightlies, Codename Android, AOKP, and PlAyOSP are the best R800x ICS ROMs, and all run on the Darkforest v4 (v5 coming tomorrow) ICS Kernel.

thanks guys only problem is i downloaded the roms and tryed to install them but none of them would work:/

[Q] AOSP Gingerbread ROM

Just trying to see if anyone could point me to an AOSP Gingerbread ROM. I've been using a ICS ROM and while its good, I had been using Gingerbread on my previous phone. I was used to Gingerbread and would like to see if there is a real AOSP ROM for this phone. Thanks!
All roms for our phone are in the development section. Take a look.

Could u please giv me a link?
Seriously .... its obvious. Do you have the GSM version or the CDMA . The code name is Zeus for gsm and zeusc for cdma. You can get them on get.cm/?device= if you have a Zeus or zeusc

GSM, not the rom, kernel and instructions.
Hmmm, i ended up in a bootloop.
I flashed rom, then lupus cm9 kernel.

Why don't you use one of the CM9 GSM ROMs in the Development subforum? These you can use the included kernel so you're sure it'll work.
U need to flash the kernel 1st.
Regards,
Sdojoin
Ohh, so flashing an ICS ROM is the same as flashing a GB one?

Why aren't there many r800x gaming roms?

All I've seen are jellybean and ics roms that I really don't want. I want service on my phone but don't want jellybean/ics because of it's performance compared to gb. Any good r800x gaming roms?
To answer your question. I have tried several roms both on the Verizon model and my current GSM model. Stock debliated with no v6 supercharger or scripts gains you the best performance. Especially on Verizon's as it was stock based firmware. I believe I still have my old nandroid backup laying around. Stock debloated 2.3.3. Do not get 2.3.4. VZ broke the Google sync and it was never fixed
Because 99% of the devs didn't have an r800x. And as Sony only released ICS as a beta for GSM it was never successfully ported to Verizon's model.
I owned an R800x before getting a GSM model.

Edit - This should be a stock debloated 2.3.3 for VZ with root.

It's a nandroid backup. Put it on your phone and boot into cwm and restore it like its a back up. You have to be on 2.3.3 first.
