Hi there, everyone!
I own a Galaxy X, which is the brazilian version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with ICS with the stock rom, no mods or anything. I noticed that when i open de camera app and take a photo, the picture is bright, well-defined and stuff. But when i press the icon to save it in my gallery, the phone saves the photo with a horrendous quality. It gets tooooooo dark, even with flash. Anyway, it should keep the orginal picture and shoudn't do that, should it? I am an amateur when it comes to Android. This Nexus, or X as it is called here in Brazil is my fisrt phone, so, maybe, i'm missing a settings solution or something. Thank you, everyone! Greetings.
Is this when you take a picture and it looks all right but when you open it in gallery, the colours and brightness all get screwed? If so, this is what happens to me and I have yet to find a solution. Maybe it's just how it is...
Oh, that's it. Is there a solution? Is it normal?
There's nothing wrong with your camera. try upping your brightness to 100% then you'll see your photos in your gallery at equal quality as when made.

That seems to have worked, for a second I thought that Android morphs the picture to 'optimise' it. Thanks

Hey guys, what are the optimal settings for taking the best possible photos using the camera? Also, what is the difference between the flash symbol with an A and without? Thanks.
Flash without A is forced flash (always on)
With a is automatic and only kicks in if light is low.

There aren't really any 'optimal' settings, apart from making sure you're taking 8mp photo's. Whether you want to take pictures in widescreen or not is up to you. I prefer not. Apart from that, it completely depends on the lighting and subject matter. If you have a relatively steady hand, the subject isn't going to move much and the lighting is alright, then the HDR setting can take some fantastic pictures. Auto seems to fine for most things

Do note that when the camera is on, the screen brightness is automatically set the maximum brightness, so a picture might look quite a bit darker in Gallery. I've set my screen at 30% brightness during normal use

Hey,
Tried to go back to Stock Rom? Maybe there is a Bug.
Or your camera is defective.. but i don't think so.
Greetz, SoLdieR9312
This might be a silly question but were these pictures taken with your One X wearing a GREEN jelly/tpu case?
This happens on AOSP roms sometimes. I personally faced this problem too. Its one of the reason I hate AOSP roms. Camera is very very bad. Go back to stock and you will find there won't be green light issue.

Change colour balance, see if that helps
Change that settings too tonight after many shoots in a raw photos was better and better that make me think that isn't a hardware problem.
I attach another photo now is yellow...but I think is better, but I want to say that without flash they aren't green or yellow they are normal.

My one x does that too. There was some thread with a 'fix' for it. Search one x general. Post it here once you find it.
See if this helps

Hey what's up folks...
I've determined that the note 3 is just terrible in low light lol.. but something that annoys me is how the front facing camera defaults to "Beauty Face" mode every time you go to it or even coming back it after setting it to auto.. you have any idea if samsung may adjust that? Like some settings dont stick and they should have a lock option or save settings button...
would be nice if a dev could get in the software and add the option lol I would PAY!

Same problem, I hate the beauty face, it´slower than auto mode
I noticed too that the quality in low light is not good but not terrible for me.
Oh God, I hate beauty face. Its the reason why I use the google camera as I'm alway taking "beautified" pictures before realizing it. It must be something in the code of the camera app.

I am having issues with nexus 5x, with flash on & HDR off a the flash is pathetic in a Dark room the flash goes off but all the photos are dark? Or when there is a little light with flash forced on the room is no brighter??? Help.
In a bright room if I force the flash on the photo goes dark? This makes no logic?
A your else having problems?
Think I have found the problem, when the battery goes below 20% the flash looses most of its power.
Same problem here, when battery goes below 15% and i take a picture of near subject, the photo is almost all black. Does it happen to someone other?
I think however is a simply intrinsic energy saver...
Here's another thread with the same issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3382452
What have you guys done about your flash issues? Warranty?
I'm in the process of warrantying now along with garryboy. Just waiting for Google to send me the refurb unit before I send them mine.

It may sound stupid, but use the WhatsApp app..
I tried every other app than the stock camera and it doesn't take the photo after/before the flash turned on..
Tell me if it did work to you ?
*** EDIT : another solution that worked the best for me :
Use the camera nx with the zsl ! It works great with the flash unlike the stock camera app..
it work like a magic for me ! thanks
Has anyone else had issues with the camera crashing?
I have to either reboot or clear all apps in memory at least once a day as I get a error message saying Cannot connect to camera. The camera app will just crash and close with the error message.

Huh, same version i have here too...
Have you changed any settings from developer options?
No.

For me Developer settings are enabled, the only thing changed is the 3 transition animations set to none.
I have this problem and its very annoying
I also have the problem. Clearing cache or even camera data does nothing. Only hard reboot fixes it for a while. Annoying
I've noticed that when my camera crashes, it takes the last few pictures with it. Almost like it wasn't done working on them and since they didn't save, they're gone after you reboot!
I have been experiencing this problem since the phone was brand new. At one point I had the Chinese version of the phone and I never had a problem with it - only the international version. This makes me believe it's a software bug. Hopefully they have a fix soon.

Mine does that too
Getting this issue too. According to a thread here: https://uk.community.huawei.com/mate-20-series-20/mate-20-pro-camera-error-856 it may be caused by using a third-party launcher.
I'm trying the horrible EMUI stock launcher now to see if the problem persists.
I may just sell this phone. The camera quality is inferior to P20 Pro because two of the cameras are not stabilised. And EMUI is probably the worst UI in the world. I thought Samsung was bad but this is worse.

Not being picky but the tittle in your link is "Mate 20 Pro camera error" not Mate 20x.
I have the 20x AL00 with a 3rd party launcher. Removed the stock launcher via ADB. Never had any camera crash issues. Works flawlessly.
Same camera issue. I'll see if I can get a errorog once this happens again.
Only reboot helps but not long after you take some pics the issue starts again.
Try clearing data and cache for the camera app. That seemed to help for me, I have also since done a factory reset and no camera issues any more.

I did both, without any improvement.
Since going back to the stock launcher and deleting nova I've not had any further occurrence of the camera crashing
