Ok, so I've had this HTC Incredible 2 phone for about 3 months and I loved it completely but I desperately want the new Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.0. So I looked on youtube how to get it on my phone and they said I had to root it. So I did this.
My phone was already updated to 2.3.4 so I had to downgrade to 2.3.3. use the Revolutionary root method from Alpharevx. I did this and it was a success, I also got the phone rooted.
Getting TOO excited, I immediately searched a ROM for Sense 3.0 and tried to install it. I put the ROM on the root of my SD card along with this thing called SuperWipe that was recommended to go with the ROM to wipe my data. In recovery mode, I unzipped the SuperWipe zip and the ROM zip and when I hit reboot system, it was just stuck on the HTC white screen for the longest.
Now IDK what to do....
I can get to the fastboot screen by holding the volume down and power button but whenever I select factory reset or recovery, it just takes me back to the white HTC screen and stays there.
Here is what it says at the top when I go to the bootloader menu:

So what should I do?? Please help me
You can get to the bootloader so that's good. You'll need a ruu
Did you make a backup before trying to flash a new ROM, if you have that laying around you should be able to do a restore.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
Reflash your recovery. If you look in the noob guides there is one that will link you to recoveries.. reflash that.. then redownload your Rom and try again... If you did make a backup of your stock before flashing, once u reflash the recovery I would boot that up first. Make sure you update your recovery at that time and then go back into your recovery and flash again
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
I would also not recommend the super wipe tool. Using the recovery wipes are sufficient. Make sure you wipe everything before you flash the rom. Also you don't have to unzip the rom files.

Hey guys. So my friend wanted me to install a Jelly Bean rom on his HTC Incredible. I unlocked the bootloader, installed CWM and accidentally formatted the system once I got CWM installed. So now the phone has no ROM and S-ON. I tried installing stock 2.3.4 again from HBOOT by using PB31IMG.zip but that didn't work (SD Card is formatted in FAT32).
Is there any way to get this phone up and running again?
Info in bootloader is as follows:
INCREDIBLEX XD SHIP S-OM
HBOOT-1.07.0000
MICROP-0417
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16AB

If your unlocked and have cwm installed, all you need to do is wipe everything in the mounts and storrage menu in recovery except emmc and sdcard. Then just flash the rom of your choosing.
If you really feel or find the need to go back stock download this ruu http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/PB31IMG.zip, place it on the sdcard in no folders and boot to hboot. Hboot should find the file after a few secs, and prompt you to press vol up to update.
If you want s-off you will need to fastboot flash a misc img, downgrade to froyo, and then flash the unrevoked forever patch.

Try redownloading the rom. I belive status7 is either a corrupt zip, or the updater script of the rom is messed up.

Not sure if you saw i added to my post about it possibly taking several minutes to get past the splash and on to the bootanimation. If it takes more than 5 min its not gonna work. If thats not the issue i would wipe everything again, do the ruu i posted and then unlock by fastboot flashing the unlock_token.bin file, fastboot flash cwm and then wipe and flash the rom again.

Tried it again, it's been 7 minutes and still nothing. I also tried flashing Bugless Beast, it would boot to the same HTC Incredible screen, then reboot into recovery around 15 seconds later. I guess I'll give the ruu a try.
So I tried flashing a non AOSP rom and figured I'd give yours a try. It works!

Strange. You could try flashing aosp again and see if it works now. Either way at least you know the phones not screwed.
I feel SO stupid! I am not at all new to droids, or flashing roms, or recovery images, but the HTC Droid incredible 2 I got used today for my wife, I was stupid and now it's stuck on the HTC white screen. I had used HTCDEV to unlock the phone, successfully (on a mac, which is a big pain in the ass), and pushed the revolution recovery to the phone, and everything was working great, but then I had to push the envelope, and I installed the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery v6.0.1.1 (name: recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.1-touch-vivow-jellybellys.img) and tried to install RCMix.Energized.7.26.2012.Fixed.Kernel_Ver2.zip, and now the phone won't boot.
I have to get this fixed before my wife gets really mad! In ClockworkMod Recovery, I have Wipe Data/Factory reset (multiple times), Wiped Cache, Formatted Cache, Formatted System, Formatted Data, Wiped Dalvik, and NO luck, even with trying to flash several different roms, including:
Droid_Incredible_HD-XL-2.0.4.zip

I would try to push a stock ruu back. As far as what caused this I can almost guarantee you is because you didn't pull the kernel out and flash it as PG32IMG.zip in boot loader. If I was you I would go for s-off. Nor that hard and less hassle/ headache

O, and the pg32verizonradio whatever the rest of the name is, you prob just need to rename it, without the quotes, "PG32IMG.zip" and make sure that's it, no .zip on the end of that, you will have to have windows enabled to sho file extentions, put that file named exactly as I said on your phones sd card, in no folder or anything just on the card. Put back in phone, hold down the power plus the volume down button to enter bootloader, say yes when it asks, bam. You.should be good to go, just make sure you delete that file off your sd now or it'll keep repeating that... If I've helped would appreciate hitting thanks button...

Whatever is easiest I'm up for. I am trying to research how to get S-OFF, but I'm not sure yet. (I had the phone rooted with CWM recovery, I should have just left it alone. I forgot that the HTC phones aren't like the Droid Razr, where root and recovery is an easy one click installer. I guess with HTC I have to deal with the rom, the kernal, s-on or s-off, the boot.img, the recovery, and all that).
>>>>> and the pg32verizonradio whatever the rest of the name is, you prob just need to rename it, without the quotes, "PG32IMG.zip"
So you think it's ok just to name it PG32IMG without the .zip? Ok, I'll try that. I've tried nearly everything else. I wish it was like the Samsung or Motorola phones, where you could push the whole image to the phone with a windows utility. Thanks!

It needs to have .zip at the end to make sure its a .zip file, the extension, if you have windows to show extensions and it says .zip.zip its wrong. If your in windows and its named PG32IMG and its showing it as a zip file you're good to go. If you're s off you won't have to worry about all that other stuff just flash Rom and go that's what I was trying to tell you

I've never done it myself so I can't really help out with steps but I think all you need to do is flash a rom of your choosing and then flash the boot image of that rom. This is because you are S-ON. I would highly recommend just going S-OFF. It will make your life much easier.
Thanks for your help, I've tried many many times, through recovery to flash the PG32IMG.zip file that is supposed to be as close to stock as possible. I know it is not named .zip.zip, I am really well versed in Windows. I am able to go into the recovery I have know, which is the eEXT touch recovery, and install from SD Card, but it constantly hangs at the HTC logo.
Put the PG32IMG.ZIP on the root of your SD card, then flash from the bootloader - NOT recovery.

When you are HTC-DEV unlocked you need to flash the boot.img file in bootloader, or else the ROM will not boot.
Extract the boot.img file from the rom .zip file and put it in your adb/fastboot folder. Then, go to recovery and flash that rom. Then, in a command prompt at your adb/fastboot folder, type: adb reboot bootloader
Once you're at the bootloader, type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then reboot: fastboot reboot
Also, check out the "comprehensive guide" thread in the development forum here. There is a RUU listed that will (since you're HTC-DEV unlocked) take you back to the .97 bootloader and allow you to revolutionary S-OFF. That may be your last resort.

being you are s-on, the ROM most likely (since most inc2 root users ares-off) that the kernel is packaged into the ROM
you can't install kernels in recovery with an s-on phone.
so install the correct kernel for the ROM, using adb and should work
Don't feel bad. I was in the same boat. Thanks for the thread and the help. Off to get S-Off now...

It's asking for sim unlock pin with the sim from AT&T I got. I'm assuming I need S-off... what do I need to do for this at this point?
I have a Verizon Dinc2 given to me by a friend....I'm not a complete noob but not very familiar with this particular device...I know how to use adb and have rooted and modified several other models from the HTC lineup before
Here's the problem, the phone was apparently unlocked with HTCdev method, had clockworkmod recovery installed (v5.0.2.0) but then left with S-ON, no sd card and no ROM installed.
Every method I have found of rooting properly, or getting a new hboot on there, or downgrading or ANYTHING basically requires that you start with the phone booted, which I can't do because there is no ROM installed.
I have tried putting a ROM on an sd card and flashing from recovery, no dice.
I have tried flashing several different RUU (PD32img or whatever) from the bootloader, and I always get a 'bad image' or 'wrong image' message then nothing.
I have tried to perform a couple of downgrade methods thinking the RUU's included might install and help me out, and can't complete through adb because the phone isn't in the proper mode. or it will start a flash and give me an error of some kind.
I know if I could install a ROM, I could enable debugging, use charge only mode, even flash a different recovery, etc... but with no ROM, and no way to boot, I am at a loss.
Anyone know where I can go with this? the phone is pretty nice, and I would love to get it running, even just stock...Maybe somebody has a nand backup I could try running from CWM, or something along those lines?
The info I get from the bootloader is as follows:
***UNLOCKED***

If you have an sd card, put a ROM on it and flash it. If you still have clockwork installed, you can do it. Then you have to take the boot.IMG from the ROM and flash via adb

Flash via fastboot. Extract the boot.img from the ROM zip, put the ROM on your sdcard, flash the ROM in recovery, boot into fastboot and use the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" then you can boot it.
