I copied my Xperia game launcher from a Nandroid to /system/app and it refuses to show in the app drawer. How can I get it to show?

Make sure to do this on the apk in order for it be seen correctly
chmod 644 /system/app/<filename>.apk

Yes
rw-r--r--
42-4--4--
rwx rwx rwx
421 421 421
that's equivalent of chmod 777

Games shouldn't be crashing due to the launcher... The launcher doesn't seem to be compatible then.

The Xperia launcher won't work due to lack of framework & library files. Not going to happen at all & you'd need the ICS version at the very least (which won't work anyways).

Thought so. Get Games doesn't work either.
Most of the Sony Ericsson apps won't work in non-stock based ROMs. I've had success with widgets but that's about it.

Hello All,
With some helpful advice from these forums, I was able to replace the China Unicom boot animation from my Xperia ZL with a stock version. FYI, this was located in /system/media on my phone.
However, I still have the China Unicom shutdown animation playing on shutdown. Any ideas on where this might be, and how to remove/replace it?
Please help me get this annoying Chinese branding off my phone. I would sincerely appreciate it.
This is just a guess, but try replacing ShutDownAnimation.all in system/app.

Actually it was an .apk, not .all.
Lol I meant apk but autocorrect was being autocorrect.

Hello,friends.
I think that you may need to place shutdownanimation file in the folder below.
/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/shutdownanim/shutdown.mp4
(set permission : rw-r-r)
Please try it.

The original boot animation which came up with Google's Moto X in 2013. I've resized it to QHD and it's working fine on my Moto Z.
Instructions:
Just flash it with twrp.
Enjoy

You can try editing the build prop.file
Goto root explorer /system mount folder in R/W and open build.prop file text editor. Scroll down to the bottom and see if there's some code like this "debud.sf.nobootanimation=1" delete this last line, save and reboot.
Let me know if this works.
