[Q] Default Google Search to black google/bgoog? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Is there a way to default Google Search to use the black version? Or is there a modified APK that does?

bGoog just came out with an app for Android that's on the market (Google Play) which is probably what you are looking for: Black Google Mobile

Nice, just what I was looking for. Now we just need a way to set it as the default search button (I can set it to long press, but not short press).

Awesome! Did you try disabling default Google?
From the instructions:
• Configure Search Button
✞ Short|Long Press Search > Check 'Use by default' > Black Google|Voice Search
☆ Using short press may require disabling default Google, see steps below.
• Disable Default Google
✞ Settings > Applications > All > (Google) Search > Disable|Uninstall [or]
✞ Settings > Applications > Manage Apps > All > (Google) Search > Clear defaults [or]
✞ Home > Menu > Manage Applications > All > Search > Disable
☆ Some versions like Ice Cream Sandwich require a free launcher, such as Nova, to remove the default search bar.

Yes,I already tried that. The option to clear defaults is grayed out, so I just uninstalled it with titanium backup. Now nothing happens when I short press my search button. Long press works though.

Go into TB and change the new search you downloaded to system app, that should fix it.

Or an easier way is to post the app here, and I will manually install it

I'll appreciate it if you can post the app here, and I can just DL and install it manually.
Thanks

it's ok now, somehow yesterday I was able to DL the file from the market

[Q] superuser settings disappeared on cm10.1

I'm on the latest cyanogenmod nightly with superuser integrated. I disabled it and now it's gone from my settings menu so I can't reenable it. help appreciated.
Is the app still installed. Download it from the play store.

I'm having the same problem as OP, need help solving it. Downloading the app from the play store didn't help as CM10.1 has Superuser integrated within it.
Reflash the rom?
figured out how to get the "# Superuser" menu item back...

I just had this same problem - I disabled root via the "# Superuser" sub-menu off settings ..then it disappeared.
...I then also noticed my "{ } Developer options" was gone... (not sure if one led to another or not). Anyhooooo... I re-enabled developer options (via tapping build number a bunch of times) then, inside developer options, turn "on" dev options, then when down to the "Root Access" options, selected then enabled "Apps and ADB".
Tada .. "# Superuser" is back in the main settings menu.
fyi .. I then went back to developer options to turn them off ..as I usually don't have them on unless I'm coding... noticed that the "{ } Developer options" menu item disappeared again. No worries though it reappears if you do go back and tap on build number

How to change Default APPS in the OP3 CM13

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is a way to change the default browser in the OS? And i dont mean goint to setting apps and changing defaults browser. Try going to Settings > Apps > Browser > Open By Default > Clear Defaults
Next, try opening a Link, if it asks you in which app you want to open this link, choose the bing one. If it doesn't ask you that and it still opens up in the default browser do the following:
Settings > Apps > Browser > Open By Default > Open supported links > Ask every time
Good Luck!

Try disabling the stock browser and then open any link.
On mine the stock apps do not lose their default status even when disabled and until that is removed another app can't be set as default. I went to the stock browser and removed it's default and disabled after. Then I had to add another browser besides Firefox so that it would pop up the once or always toast after clicking something that would invoke a browser call. No idea why this phone makes you work so hard to change defaults. Never had a problem before.

Google Assistant

Is there a way to use this without it recording web browsing/search or location history? I don't care for it to be customized to me, just to answer general answers without my privacy being compromised.
Have tried the build.prop tweak to revert to Google On Tap but doesn't seem to be working.
Thanks

You can disable all data collection from Google, including the Google Assistant, using the following steps:
1) Go to Google My Activity by search myactivity on Google (sorry; it doesn't allow URLs)
2) Open the hamburger menu (three lines)
3) Click Activity controls
4) For each desired section, toggle the switch to the off position.
To delete any current data:
1) Go to Google My Activity by search myactivity on Google (sorry; it doesn't allow URLs)
2) Open the hamburger menu (three lines)
3) Click "Delete activity by"
4) For "Delete by date", click the dropdown box and select "All time"
5) Click the delete button at the bottom of the page.

How to make google apps work again after 028s update (no root required/no twrp requir

Hi there,
I saw that a lots of people are having google rh-01 error after they did the ota update so i'm going to show you guys how to make it work again. This tutorial can also help for other problems related to google apps crashing for leeco mobile. Also this tutorial fix the problem of not being able to use the 3 home buttons under your screen since sometimes they got glitched because of play service crashes.
First of all you need to go in
System settings>App management > clear the cache for all the google app we going to delete by going in storage and delete all the google apps, such as :
Google play store
Google play service
Google account manager
Google service framework
And any other app that is crashing because of the 028s update, you can reinstall all of them through the play store after it is working again.
After having it done please reboot your phone and go in the Lestore app which is in chineese but dont worry i will try to show u in picture what to do.
1- Start Lestore app and follow everything i have said in the uploaded pictures of this post or if you have trouble you can do what this guy is doing, it's the same :
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8VU270w99bA
[1bis - between the 3th and 4th picture you can add your google account by going in
System setting > Account > press Add account and press google.].
2- Now you should have everything working again, only one last thing remain , be sure that when you go in :
System setting > App management > Google play service > Permissions > Make sure everything is activated.
System setting> App management > Google play store > Permissions > Make sure everything is activated.
I hope this is going to help you if you guys have any further questions let me know.

What are the practices you talking about ?
If you are talking about the ads added in phone manager with the new release you can disable them by going in
System settings > Press on " Dual sim & mobile network" > press "data management" > press "connection control" > now disable wifi and mobile data for the phone manager app.
Or simply choose to download an app like adguard or adaway or any other similar app to block ads.
LeStore does not connect.
I was able to connect using a china VPN.
