[Q] FM Radio? - Acer Iconia Tab A100

So I've seen supporting and non-supporting information and wondering if anyone has a definitive answer...
Does the A100 have an FM radio chip and if so, has anyone had any luck using it with an application to listen to FM radio?

No, it doesn't.

Thank you, I guess this review (http://androidcommunity.com/acer-iconia-tab-a100-review-20110822/) threw me off but thank you for confirming

U can download stitcher, it streams FM radios from all over the place, hopefully they have the one u r looking for

That's not FM, that's web streams.

Its got live streams as well from FM radios

No it doesn't, it does web streams ONLY. It has no access to built in FM hardware and contains no tuning controls; I know, I tried it.
It also requires you to sign up for an account with them before you can access any of the streams it offers.

I think u misunderstood me, it doesn't have access to built in hardware since the tablet has none, but it streams certain local stations, when u go to live channels it let's u pick states then cities and u have a few options in there from the famous stations.
U don't have to sign up, u can always sign in using facebook

Yes, and those are STILL web streams, not FM stations (their original source might be FM, but you're not getting them that way. Accuracy, first and always, try not to mislead people).
Also, give some random app access to my Facebook account? Yeah, riiiiight.

Sorry to pinch a nerve but wasn't trying to mislead anyone I was trying to help him find a way to listen to FM content on a tablet without a transmitter.

[Q] Video Out?

I'm going to guess this is a no but would be something I would love to be able to do!
I would like to know to I sold my EVO and then a few weeks later I got a huge flat screen lol sucks right. But I got the g2 and still would like to get something now but not sure if its possible.

you can stream wirelessly via DLNA with the Vision. check Twonky out on the market.
whatever you're streaming to must be DLNA compliant, if it needed saying.
Ill take a look at it! Thank you

Here you go.
also, if you want a nice resource on how to use DLNA, their website is pretty helpful at explaining what it is and how to use it.
I am not a twonky spokesperson, in fact I don't even use it anymore, but when I was doing DLNA streaming, it was my fav. there are others out there, just do some googling for android DLNA apps.
happy streaming!
Oh sweet thanks for the help about to look at the links right now

The xplay has both a fm receiver and transmitter. But it has been disabled somewhere in the software. FXP is working on a fix.

If you have unlimited data, the fm radio apps on the market are way better i find since you can get stations from around the world
The one I use though wifi is called tune in radio.
Sent from Silent Earth 3
Would definitely recommend tune in radio... even with a poor data signal it can keep your stream going... only downside is that since it buffers there is generally a bit of a delay...

Is there way to check the progress?
Thanks for the explanation, looking forward to had the same feature like this fm station on my play.
Internet radio was a bit annoying when it comes with buffering. xp

Why would I want to pair my Samsung T.V. to my Samsung Epic Touch 4g?

Hello everybody, I have a question and I know there is a wealth of Tech wisdom on this forum. How can I benefit pairing my cellphone to my samsung t.v. set via bluetooth? I want to learn new things to do with my cell phone.

I tried this and it does not work for me.
Look for Samsung remote un the play store. Both the tv and phone need to be connected to the same wifi to work.

I am currently using Samy Go remote because it is the only remote that works in Tablet Mode. But my quest ion has to do with bluetooth and not wifi. I love streaming thru wifi. But why do they have bluetooth?

I'm guessing it has to do with options. I imagine not everyone has wifi.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
yeah I used the remote app before. Works fine, has all the buttons the normal remote does. All of them don't fit on the screen though. You actually have to scroll up and down the remote from what I remember.

I don't BT to my TV, bt on my TV runs my keyboard.
That actually seems really cool to me. Do all sammy tvs do that?

Allot of the newer ones do. Mine does allot more MINE. Dont even need a PC for the TV now.
I have a Panasonic viera plasma instead of a Sammy set and it works great from my phone. It uses wifi to connect instead of bt.
With Allshare, I can view pics and stream music but not videos.
Comes in handy because my couches tend to eat my remotes, the phone is always in my pocket
It looks like the general consensus is that bluetooth from the phone to the tv is worthless and wifi is way more useful.
If I helped you out in any way please thank me. Thanks.
I connected my phone to my google TV made by Sony. I can use it as a remote to control the TV but that's about it. I'm sure you could transfer files if you found some reason you needed to lol.

Muisc over LAN?

What music application will allow me to stream music from my pc to my phone?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Not sure if it's what you're looking for but ES File Explorer can do that. Or are you looking for something more along the line of Google Music but on a local network? I don't do that with my phone so I can't honestly name a program for you. Like I said, ES can access the music and play it so you might give it a shot and see if it's what you're looking for.

Set it up. Pretty nice.
I'm wondering if I can set up my own server without there software.
Which I've done. Just like an app to play it.
It is your own server you are hosting the files locally with the option of accessing them from a wan. None of your files are able to be viewed by their software

I've got 20 days to figure it out.

Pandora

So running root box 3.6 and have my phone pimped just the way I like it. Now when I open and play Pandora, I can't create a station. If I click add station, it changes to pick a station page and then changes right back to my stations and I can't enter any info to get a new station? Any help would be great. I have rebooted, reinstalled and no changes?

I have the same problem too but i don't think it's the rom because i think i had this problem on a different rom, i'm pretty sure it's pandora.
For such a mainstream app,, Pandora GUI really sucks.
I'm in the middle of some other things right now, so I can't try to duplicate your problem. I just wanted to use your thread to complain about Pandora.
Definitely an issue with Pandora, it's been bugging me for weeks
