All,
I want to perform a full format of my Tab including the storage so I have a pristine system when I install the Roman Kang Milestone4. What is the best process, cause if I format the SD card in the recovery, everything will get wiped including the ROM install.
Thanks for any info.
You could do a format then transfer the zip to install the rom?

I have a question, does the internal storage (the "sd-card") also get wiped if you do a full wipe (data/cache/factory reset)?
Lets say I have JellyBelly installed and do a backup of it do I have to copy it to my computer if I install another ROM if I don't want to lose it?
Hope you understand

No internal sdcard does not get wipe Only your personal info on the rom does (apps, contacts etc...) your internal sdcard remains untouched

Thanks! That was what I wanted to know
Hi there!
I'm willing to perform an absolutely clean install of a ROM and want to format all partitions in recovery, even the internal sdcard, system etc... Doing so will remove my current ROM I suppose, so I won't be able to boot up the phone only to recovery or download mode. But in recovery I can't access the phone's memory so I won't be able to put the zip file back after formatting.
I used to install ROMs on my old Desire HD this way:
1. Wipe data/Factory reset
2. Clear cache + Dalvik
3. Format all partitions (boot system etc.)
4. Format SD card
5. Toggle USB storage
*PC detects phone*
6. Copy file
7. Install zip
Is it a proper way of insaltalling ROMs on Note 2 also? If yes how do I put the .zip file on the phone?
Thank you for the help!
Regards,

Hey guys! So I flashed the sd card file that supposedly reverts your storage to how it was before but the internal flash storage that came with the phone did not change. It's still the same as it was when i finished flashing a 4.2 ROM. I flashed the zip from my external zip file or my actual sd card. Is there anyway I can get my flash internal storage back to the way it was before flashing that 4.2 ROMs? Thanks :fingers-crossed:

Did you wipe cache and d cache and fix permissions before and after you flashed the zip?

Here were my steps! I wiped system data and cache partition. After that, I restored my nandroid back of my Jedi-X9 ROM. Then after, I installed the zip. Am I missing something? The external sd card is fine! The internal is the same as it was on my 4.2 ROM. I understand that the 4.2 ROMs change your internal storage because of the multi-user support. When I go to storage in settings, it says 3.53GB for 0. I'm pretty sure that it is referring to user 0 from my 4.2 ROM. Any suggestions?
I just flashed LiquidSmooth v2.5 with the following steps:
CWM backup onto internal sd card
Move Rom and Google apps to internal sd card
Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
Format /system, Format /data
Install Rom, Google apps
Boot
However, now when I look at the internal storage of my phone through settings, there is 12.05GB available, but only 1.68GB free space. I have not downloaded any apps, and I have no media on the device (pictures, music, videos, etc). When I connect the phone to my computer and explore the internal storage, there is nothing there as well. I think there is a lot of stuff taking up room that I can't see. How do I get to those files to delete them and make more room? Is the problem that I am not using an external sd card?
Thanks in advance.
Get disk usage from the market. It will show you what's using your space.

I just downloaded and used it. It says that 9.3GB is system data? Is that possible? How can I get rid of that?
Go to the root required section and choose /data. That should give you better results.

I currently have a Galaxy S4 and looked at the nexus 6 if I have to buy a sealed phone vs the new galaxy. Since everything is internal when making a nandroid do I need to transfer the nandroid to a computer then wipe? If I wipe the phone then how do I flash a new ROM if the internal is wiped ?
With the galaxy s4 I would just wipe the phone then load off the SD card slot.
Hi there buddy, I think you might be on the wrong forum here. This is the forum for the old galaxy nexus by Samsung, not the nexus 6. With that being said, I have a few devices without an SD card slot, and the way I flash ROMs on those is by creating another partition that looks like an external SD card. Most custom ROMs do this. Another thing that is commonly done is when factory wiping from a recovery, the data partition might be left alone (only wipes system, cache and dalvik cache). So you might be able to get away with having the ROM files in the data partition. Hope this helps!
