[Q] bricked or screen problem? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night i sat my phone down for a minute i sent a text and when i came back it had a weird screen on it. I tried taking the battery out and rebooting it but it took me right back to the same screen I entered recovery after my 3rd fail of getting it to come back on it showed the recovery screen but i had to press the buttons alot to make it switch options and even then it froze on me i was trying to back up my SD by mounting it then restore a back up but cwm so after a few failed attempts i used flashtool to restore the stock firmware hoping that this would fix it. It failed i tried it a few times but no changes.
The reason why i don't think it's fully bricked is because it shows the screen in the pic but when i press by where the unlock slider is my phone vibrates and when i slide it to the right and do my pattern over the screen i can change the volume and when i turn it all the way down it does vibrate and i still get notification sounds.
My MMI code stopped working a few weeks ago i dont know if this is what would cause this because i do know ics is coming for xperia devices but since my MMI code stopped working i was no longer able to get to the service menu through the dialer i tried *#*#SERVICE*#*# and looked at youtube videos that said add commas and stuff and that made theirs work but it did not work on mine.
i tried taking the SIM card and sd card out and turned it on it did not work so it has to be something wrong within the phone itself
My cwm is now gone since i flashed the new firmware and i don't know how to get it on because the cwm for locked bootloaders requires the debugging setting on which i can not get to now. So please give me advice on how to fix it! if all fails i will just take it in to the ATT store my phone is the r800at ftw

Bricked means the phone will not turn on. Ever. That's a LCD problem.

samsung galaxy nexus wont unlock

Hi I have this problem my samsung galaxy nexus wont unlock. The phone worked fine 10 minuts ago then clicked the power bottom to unlock but it just stays black screen
and i have to pull out the battery and turn it on aging and there is 75% battery left so that's not the problem
after a hard reboot with pulling out the battery, you still can't unlock your phone?
fine
after a battery pullout i will unlock fine but it's just thet some times theres is no response when i click the power bottum to get to the unlock screen and the only option is to pull out the battery
is your phone rooted? if so, go to cwm, backup, and flash a clean rom. Then if it works, try restoring from ur backup
Not rooted
The phone is not rooted and totaly like origina. I tried to root the phone but it dient worked beacuse the fastboot driver wuldent install so no change at the phone it think but culd it be that, that is causing the problem
same here
I had the same problem once three weeks ago. The Gal N would just not respond to the power button. I had to pull the battery AND the SIM card. It has never happened again since then.
All stock phone, no root, no unlocked bootloader
Sounds like 'sleep of death', there's a thread on it - eta here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360880
It seemed to be some app stopping the phone waking up, for some ? lightflow, others ? juice defender. I stopped following the thread so I don't know if a definitive fix was found.
You could try a factory reset and see if that fixes it...

[Q] Phone is stuck on bootloader mode

I have looked all over this site and i cant find anything relating to my specific problem
My phone battery completly died so when i got home i attempted to charge it and it went straight into bootloader mode. All of my buttons are working so i dont think my volume key is stuck, but when i select any of the options in bootloader it just goes back to the previous screen.
Everything had been running as normal til now, i have no custom ROM's and nothing has recently been installed or updated.
Any help would be appreciated!
I bought a parts phone that did just what you are saying...it turned out to be the battery-just plain was no good even tho it appeared to charge etc etc.-and when I put in one from my other phone it ran perfectly...worth a shot if you have access to one.

NEED SERIOUS HELP! QHSUSB_DLOAD Brick

I was messing around with my phone and entered recovery mode (PhilZ Touch) and I kept tapping the empty part of the screen. Then the screen turned off, but on again after a few seconds. Then the phone wouldn't boot past recovery mode. I was stuck!
I researched the problem online and found another forum that posted a flashable "fix". So, I flashed it and then to my horror, realized that the zip was meant for a completely different phone!
Now my phone won't display anything on the screen, won't enter into Bootloader/Download Mode nor Recovery. I can't even do a Cold Reboot!
When I plug the phone into my computer though, Windows makes the USB connected dinging sound and attempts to install drivers but fails. In Device Manager, there is now a QHSUSB_DLOAD entry that appears and disappears depending on whether my phone is plugged in or not.
Does anyone know how to fix this and get the phone up and running again?
Preferably ASAP!? I literally have no phone... not even a landline!
Bro am in tha same boat...am about to send mines off to mobiletechvideos and they'll fix it for 50$ thats the only option ppl been saying...i tried the other way but its a headace and it dosent work for me ...
I ended up solving my problem, but not in the way I wanted. Since my phone was 100% dead, I went back to ATT since it was still under warranty. I told them a story about how the phone had been malfunctioning lately and then just completely died. They replaced the phone under warranty, so now I have a brand new one.
There definitely doesn't seem to be any easy way out of this problem once it strikes. I still don't know what happened to make the phone unable to boot out of recovery, even after wiping stuff, factory reseting, and reflashing roms. All I do know is that I have never had a problem with PhilZ until I started to rapidly tap the blank part of the screen (I like how it vibrates... I'm weird like that). This caused the recovery to never want to exit. Every time I reboot the phone, it automatically went to recovery, even after a full power off or battery pull.
Nevertheless, I am still going to root and mod my phone... just carefully.
You have a hard brick, which is nearly impossible to fix.

Note 2 boot load loop fix - cause System Memory full

Hi everyone. This is the first time ive posted anything on here. I will try to fully describe my problem that i really need help to fix.
My wife got my old Note 2 is rooted and she got my
Dad's old unrooted Note 2. After deciding that she didnt want a rooted phone she decided to use my father's unrooted phone. Due to apps updating and the internal memory getting full she ingored the warning message not really realising the outcome. The phone eventually shut itself down and is stuck on the Samsung logo (boot loop). So i gave her my old rooted phone back because she said that it just died. The same happened to the rooted phone too.
I asked before what she did and i was told nothing it just died. So i had nothing to go on. It wasn't until a week later when I tried to sort the problem out she said the System Memory was getting full and a message came up warning of this. So now I believe the problem is that the on board memory has got full and the phone seized. Much like what happens to a PC when the main hard drive gets full!
When i attempt to boot the phone up the Samsung logo show and stays on, never booting up. This happens with both phones. When i hold the Home key, Power button and Up volume switch. The phone loads the first Part of the boot up and at the moment it goes to the system screen it goes blank for a split second and back to the start of the boot. No matter how many times i try it fails. So I can't Factory reset or erase anything because i can get to it that screen.
So I try something else. I press the Home button, Power button and the Down on the volume to access the Download mode. This works fine. So i used Odin to try to put Rom onto the phone hoping this will solve the problem. Both phones connects to Odin alright and I can set up ready to load a rom onto it, however when i press start on Odmin to do its job everthing starts ok but then it goes red with a Failed error message. This happens when i try this on both phones, I seem to be stuck no knowing what to do. I have tried using all the ports on my laptop (window 7) and that makes no difference. The same happens on both devices.
I think i need to clear the memory somehow but have no idea how to do it when i can only access Download mode. I would be very grateful for any help on this but if all else fail I will try to build up static on a ballon and see if putting the near will wipe the memory, lol. Only joking. Im desperate to sort this out.
Any ideas?
try to flash twrp with Odin and download mode. Then enter recovery, connect it to PC and make some space.
But I really doubt it, apps won't install even when you have 500Mb free, so I think it might be hardware problem

OP3 rebooting to blank screen (with white notification light)?

Hi all, my unlocked and rooted (for the purpose of titanium etc) 5 day old OP3, running latest stock Oxygen is rebooting itself several times a day, but not rebooting back into the OS. It shows a blank screen and the notification light is lit white.
To get back into the OS, I have to power it down and restart. Sometimes it doesnt make it past the boot animation. It freezes, and reboots (again, to a blank screen with white notification light).
I've spent a couple of hours this morning wiping it (all apart from internal storage), and re-flashing.
The problem then got worse, as when flashing the stock ROM from recovery, or side loading it, the phone would reboot when it got to 90%. Whether I use TWRP (3.0.3-0), or stock recovery, I encounter the same problem.
I tried flashing a slimmer ROM (AICP), which flashed successfully, but I'm still getting reboots to blank screen with white notification light.
Any ideas?
P.s. I took a nandroid backup before encountering any issues, however the phone reboots (to the same state) when about 50% through restoring it.

I think I'll have to its pissing me off now, goes great for hour or two then I'll get this black screen 4 or 5 times in a row
I have the same issue.
I tried some ROMs (cm13, RR, OP3lite) and always the same.
I already contacted the support and they wiped my phone by taking a remote session through my computer.
I now have OOS 3.2.1 stock, not rooted.
I had a reboot since but I will let a few days to see if the issue is resolved

How long after the wipe/back to stock did it happen? after a bit of Google search seems to be happening to few sd820 devices
I don't know how much time after, maybe 6 hours later or so...
I had a freeze yesterday evening and had to reboot my phone.
Everytime it freezes on reboot and I have to wait 3 to 4 tries before the phone really boot.
Try to flash stock rom with unbrick solution. If ir does not help, apply for RMA ticket
I created a RMA ticket this morning.
My phone will go to repair center
I raised an RMA request on July 19th, which was approved July 20th, yet I've still not received return mailing labels from Arvato.
Not even slightly impressed.
My situation
Hi there,
This morning I decided to relock my bootloader to give it a complete stock-Android feel to it. I had already unrooted my phone at this point. It was then when I thought it was a good idea, since I unrooted it, to delete the BetaSuperSU rar file as well as the TWRP folder from my phone files. I then opened a command prompt in the AndroidSKDSlim folder and typed: fastboot devices, fastboot oem lock
And then I went on my phone and clicked the power button to confirm the locking. Since then my phone has not booted up yet, and I get no vibration when I press the power button. No button seems to be responding, but the white LED light is permanently on. What should I do now? My computer doesn't recognise my phone either!

Have you tried holding power and volume down for a few seconds without the cable plugged into the phone?

I received a mail yesterday evening saying that they can't take my phone and I have to do a factory reset.
I replied to this mail saying that I did multiple factory resets and even do a remote session with a oneplus tech support.
They sent me a mail an hour after with a number and the process to send my phone.
