Quesion on ADB drivers..

How do I et the drivers updated manually? When I goto Device Manager, I get the ! next to it in the yellow triangle. So I went to update mnaully and I couldnt get it to. I have 64bit win7. Ive looked high and low and cannot find what I need. When I go and do CMD prompt I get the daemon started blah blah but no serials. Here is a screenie.
So any and all help to get this **** rolling would be appreciated. Thanks.

I tried and reinstalled the HTC drivers but nothing.. still the same issue.

Go to the Android SDK page and re-install or update your SDK. This should correct your problem.

edit: I did just install the most recent one..
Im going to reinstall it now.

And how can I install framework-res resources ?

Yes. Original to decompile and compile. Use ICS to compile if you are having problems with the Original one.
To install sources on Windows
open cmd [if you are running x64 with java x32, open C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cmd.exe]
cd [your apktool folder] [exemple: cd C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents]
apktool if framework-res.apk
done.
To install sources on Linux
open terminal
cd [apktool folder again]
apktool if framework-res.apk
done. Actually it's the same steps as on windows, but anyway...
Just remember you must have java jre/jdk installed. And the framework-res.apk must be together with the apktool.jar.

In this case, you need to run framework-if.bat Running apktool.bat won't be different. You can also path\apktool if framework-res.apk

[Q]after decompile-compile apk in Astro it had got problem with parsing

I was decompiling and compiling my ICS apk I used API 14, android-sdk rev20, and apktool ver 1.4.3 then I have been done this but It has a problem parsing package

apktool 1.4.3 has compile problems.
Update aapt.exe by taking it from android sdk and try to compile again.
Should work fine.

It is one of the most disgusting error i have ever faced in windows store. I had tried everything but it did not work. Every time it will download half way then it will show this error. Happened to mobile once and i end up resetting my phone but resetting PC takes up a lot of time. After searching through internet and doing stuffs like system restore , disk scan etc , I found the ultimate solution. Worked on my PC and should work on mobile too.
Steps -
Download this shortcut file ( http://1drv.ms/1PaoCvW ) . Dont worry its not a malware.Laugh
Open it.
It will take you the packages folder on your C drive where you will see lots of folder with names like " C384BBF6.Uber.Win10_qkjwzh68xexq0 " . These are the app data of apps you hae downloaded from store.
Find the folder of thta app which is showing error.
Delete it or rename it to something lese.
Try to download the app from store now. It should work.

CD Installer USB option - possible to repurpose?

When I plug my phone into my PC it offers me the option to expose the phone as a virtual CD ROM drive presumably mounting an ISO on the filesystem.

Think it'd be possible to change the ISO to mount windows 10 or linux live CDs?
edit: Seems the file mounted is /system/etc/PCTOOL.iso and seems like my PC would boot from it...

If you replace /system/etc/PCTOOL.ISO with another valid ISO file, that'll mount when you choose that option. This was done a long time ago on the EVO 4G LTE. The ISO was replaced with adb & fastboot tools and an automatic command prompt.

I don't see why something like that can be done on the 10 as well.
P.S. At one point I even tried running Ubuntu from it, but that got crazy, lol

Drivedroid requires root, was more of a thought exercise to avoid rooting the device.
