No contact icons in messaging app

Contact icons are not being displayed in the htc messaging app, though it works fine otherwise and the icons show in the people app. My rom is skyraider sense 3.3.2, but the people, gallery, and messaging are the stock htc ones (as are most of the apps.) Anyone know why this would be? Thanks.

Stock aosp dialer?

Is there a way to replace a sense dialer with a aosp dialer? If so how can someone link me to the dialer, as far as installing would you delete the sense dialer and replace it with the aosp dialer. Also would there be a problem syncing social networking contacts to an aosp dialer on a sense rom? I deleted sense from ava 10, am running aosp boot animation and also the aosp lockscreen.

there is a dialer in market called youlu that looks like aosp dialer not the prettiest skin but work on all roms you incall screen is still sense use remap rosie to change dialer button

I would think that the only way to get the actual aosp dialer would be to run a remove sense script. If you're gonna do this you should just get an aosp rom. Also, with the social network integration, the aosp dialer has some, but not nearly as much as sense so if you want that I would stick with sense.

I just asked the opposite question.. I like the sense dialer more then the AOSP dialer.. too funny.. to each their own..

Install stock Froyo dialer and contacts in Skyraider Athena?

SkyRaider Athena is one of my favorite ROMs. Build in the sense framework with the look and feel of AOSP Android, for the most part at least. I would like to replace the sense dialer and contacts apps with the stock Froyo dialer and contacts apps and the gingerbread keyboard with the Froyo keyboard. I hunted them down, put them on my SD card and tried to install them using Astro, app installer and Root Explorer but to no avail. All I get is a message saying that the installation has failed. I tried using appmonster as well, but I didn't see an option to install from the SD card. Is there any way to replace the sense dialer and contacts with the stock dialer and contacts apps and if so how would I go about doing so?

Dialer/Contacts Alternatives
Don't know much about SR Athena.
I do know DialerOne (my preference) and Go Contacts do a nice job of replacing dialer/contacts features that I liked in the stock dialer, like speed dial, etc.
Each has a different look and feel from stock, but each has it's own strengths too.
May be worth a look.

ASOP Calender and Messaging apps

Anyone know where to find the asop gingerbread Calender and mms apks? Don't like touchwiz Calender or iPhone messaging. Update.zip would be nice

[REQ] Import sense 3.5 messaging app and widget to sense 2.1

Hi,
I have a shipped rom 2.3.6 odex with sense 2.1 unlock, rooted and S OFF.
I was wondering if any of the devs can import HTC Messaging app and widget from sense 3.5 since it nicer.. (it has different colors for the sent and incoming messages in the thread)
