when i dragging phone screen lock, phone is switch off suddenly. and the phone does not open. when i plug charger no any led notification and any response. when i connect phone to pc driver seems "qhsusb_dload"

i only setup game and play game, and watch film.

Already tried to remove the battery for a minute, then put it back?
yes, i tried this many times..
I know what qhsusb_dload is. It was shown to me when I was unlocking my bootloader whit the testpoint method. But I don't know how it can be shown suddenly, and you didn't nothing. Maybe a hardware failure, when it is happen suddenly.
I hope solving my problem and i hope not hardware failure. too thanks and regard for replies

If I remember it well, what I read, then its mostly a hardware failure or a software failure, what happens whit a bad rom. You didn't do a update? A official from Sony Ericsson? Try to recover your phone whit the Sony Ericsson tool (Sony Ericsson PC Companion) then the tab Support Zone
When phone recovery from Sony Ericsson work, you will lose all your data on the phone, but the data on your sd card will maintain.
Thanks but sony companion recovery is not see my phone, when hold back and plug cable

Then I'm afraid that I can't help you. But if it's a software failure, it can be repaired whit SeTool, but it cost money. Search in the Arc forum, and you will find something about SeTool and how to repair, but it's not free.
But if you still have warranty on your phone, then send up your phone.
You can try the testpoint method to unlock youre bootloader, because whit the testpoint method your computer ask for a driver for qhsusb_dload, maybe it's work for your phone, but I can't guarantee it. But you must have a generic branded phone.

Have you found any solution....pls let me know.....im also facing this problem
Hello guys.
My Sony Xperia S got Hard bricked after i tried to partition my SDcard from TWRP recovery which unfortunately failed due to some reason.....
I had boot manager installed for dual boot and i had sony stock firmware 6.1.A.2.55 on the native and CM10 on loop ...
The partition was tried in TWRP for loop in Ext4 format
My Xperia S now does not respond to fastboot buttons as well as all other combinations ...
It doesnt light any LED not even while its connected to the charger..
The only thing that happens is when i connect it using USB cable without any combinations and the computer detects it as SEMC flash device..
Is there any method to flash using this mode?
I have tried every method on all the forums.(flashtool, fastboot, taking battery out ,power+vol up,everything )
Guys please i need serios help any experienced suggesions would be helpful ...
Please help :crying:
PS: i had never thought that trying to partition the SDcard would brick my phone..

Okay ill try that for sure and let u know
Wow i don't know how ...but just as i connected it to the charger the orange LED shows up .....But there is no sony logo anyway ...lets wait
nope nothing happened except the LED that glows :crying:
How the duck did you take your battery out? It has an INBUILT one, why would you take apart the entire phone?
Then, after telling you how stupidly you did that;
can you go back into the recovery? (probably yes, but it's weird)
Did you ACTUALLY take apart the phone to take the battery out? (probably not)
Do you have an unlocked bootloader? (i think you do, but not sure...)
Do you still have warranty? (probably yes)
Try again, because if the orange LED showed up, it's probably not too late...
Now go and use FlashTool once more...

yes i took the phone apart took the battery out ...waited long enough for the capacitors to discharge and then again put it in...
no i can't get back into the recovery ...i can't even boot the phone and no combination is working
yes i have an unlocked bootloader
no on't have the warranty..
The orange LED glows up while charging only
the phone does not go to fastboot or any other mode so i can't use flash tool
the only thing that comes on the computer when i plug the USB is "SEMC flash device" ....which non of the tools recognise
Guys please ...is there anyone out there who can help me? :crying:
I do believe you DID have warranty up until the moment you took apart the phone (I think the repair service guys would fix your phone without chacking for a locked BL...)

I'm starting to think that my case could be a corrupted bootloader, where I have to use JTag to try to save, but I don't know anyone who have a JTag, neither in my country.
I don't know what could be, but I still entering in flashmode or fastboot and my PC recognize my phone with testpoint, so I think that maybe is not a hardware problem...

Hi, I decided to post it here because it seems that anything I post on Xperia Ion forum is not read, it is inactive.
I already searched everywhere and I'm loosing my hopes. I'm trying to revive an Xperia Ion and this is what I get:
When I plug the phone in the wall charger the red led turns on for some minutes and then turns off.
The same happens when I plug on PC, when the led turns off it is detected as "Somc flash device" in windows device manager and this shows in flashtool:
INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
Nothing changes if I plug in pc with volume + or - pressed, it don't goes into fastboot or flashmode.
I hope you could help me. Thanks

The screen on my Xperia S is not working. I turn it on and nothing comes on the screen except the LED backlight. The touch screen is working because I can still respond with it like unlocking the screen and people can still phone me but I just can't see the screen. I have tried the power and volume up button, plugging in the cable while holding volume down and I tried taking the sim card out. I think the only thing I haven't tried is repairing the phone in Sony PC Companion as I don't to lose my data. P.S I tried backing it up in PC Companion and it didn't work.
If you have an hdmi cable and hd tv try to connect it.
Dissemble the phone and check whether display connector is connected to the motherboard. it may disconnect because of fall or something like that.

if i missed anything just ask
i suggest trying to repair your phone via sony companion, (support zone > repair phone > follow instruction)
if the above method doesnt work try flashing a FTF via Flashtool (look for a tutorial if needed if not i dont mind explaining)
if the problem is still there , look around for Xperia S/ion/acro/blah blah(what ever you have) blackscreen on google ,and if you cant find anything then you will have to send your Phone for Repair, unless your good at repairing techy stuff
it may not be a hardware fault, ive had simular problems before, (it was simply a bad kernel install)
USEFUL INFO
you will not lose anything on your SD card if you repair using sony companion or flashtool, however you will lose apps and settings. take note flashtool is a quick method but is less safe

I know you posted this awhile ago, but this same problem is now happening to my phone and I was curious if ours have anything in common, or if you ever got this resolved?
My phone is 12W13, and ABAC model numbers (you can see these listed underneath the back cover).
I have read through the other threads and from what I understand I may have a "soft brick" it also mentioned to ask first before I do anything, so I apologize in advance. I tried to update to JellyBean 2 days ago and had a game that froze I did a hard reset not knowing that it could potentially cause problems, I have done it in the past with no issues. PC companion downloaded the update and I followed the instructions as usual held volume key down plugged the usb in and it initially recognized my device but only for about 3 seconds. Now everytime I plug my phone into the PC it either says "unknown device" or it doesn't do anything other than start charging it. I have tried usb debugging mode switched between MTP and MSC modes all with the same result. Also I was reading the thread for "RECOVER SOFT-brick" and it provided the link for the flash tool and my device was not listed. Thank you in advace for your time and patience.

I am not sure what the update service is that you mentioned, I tried the repair option with pc companion but the computer wont recognize my phone when i plug it in. Tried while it was off held the volume down and plugged the usb in, the device looks like it is doing what it normally would when I am updating but then it just goes to the charge screen. So I assume that is not the repair that you were talking about, unless I am doing something wrong. I don't have the option of bringing it to sony right now because I am working overseas right now. Unless maybe I mailed it in I didn't want to go that route because it is my main source of communication for while I am out here.
Thank you again for your time.

I already have that update service I used it when they released the update before JB it was a new build#, the program worked great unfortunately it doesn't do me any good now because it still doesn't recognize my phone and I tried several times with all the diffirent modes and options combinations I could think of. I am not near a Sony store and will not be for some time, I may have to try something more drastic or just purchase a new phone. Thank you again for your assistance

Settle down dude, dont do anything drastic. First read up on soft bricks. Now i need to know does your device boot? you dont exactly describe the condition of your phone. If possible try flashing it with flashtool and the latest JB ftf (to enter flash mode on our lt28at ion you connect the phone to the usb cable, hold vol down and connect the usb cable to the pc when flashtool tells you to).

My apologies, yes I believe my phone does boot so far the only issue I can see as of right now is that I cannot connect to my laptop or anyone else's. I have tried holding the volume key down and plugging in the usb numerous times with no luck it only charges when I do this. I have read up on soft bricks and it seems simple enough but I didn't know for sure what the problem is with my device, other users had mentioned that along with usb issues I could have messaging and phone call issues. I have been using wifi and the tango app for communication for the past four months because of where I am located there is no service and also the reason I have not brought it in to a store. But back to flashing the device I have never attempted it on this device or any other so I was a little nervous about permanently bricking it, I looked at one link in another thread that had the latest JB ftf and my device was not listed. Also is there a specific flashtool you recommend? Thank you for your help

That was exactly what I thought initially as well so I did a back up on my computer and installed win7 ultimate after it was installed I made sure all of my drivers were working and up to date, I also tried it out on several other computers just to make sure it was the phone. Also just to be sure my computer was working properly I had one of the other guys here plug his phone into my computer and it came up instantly.
I think I may have misunderstood the fast boot question I thought the question was if the phone would boot from being off.

I followed the instructions from both of the threads, but I keep running into the same problem. My device is not listed among the drivers to install, I scrolled to the right on each one just to make sure it was not part of a group. Before I got this reply I followed the tutorial basically the flashtool for dummies like myself and down loaded the correct firmware for my device. I followed the instructions to run the flashtool selected my firmware started the flash tool, it told me to hold volume down while plugging in the phone just like I would with pc companion and probably 3 secs after plugging it in the only thing that would happen is I would get the usual windows prompt that "the device is not recognized" I thought for sure this was the solution, perhaps I am missing a step? I am officially at a loss now lol I even went to the threads specific to the ion lt28at and it was all quite simple right up until plugging in, any more insight would be greatly appreciated.

I appreciate the link but that was basically instructions on how to start the flash tool properly it seems, I still can't get the flash tool to recognize it is plugged in. I believe the issue is with the device driver, problem is the ION lt28 is not in the list of drivers. Is there another one that I am supposed to use that is compatible? I thought it had to be specifically for my device, again I appreciate all the help you all are giving me this is becoming a frustrating process for what seems so simple

Try Flashtool-drivers [ do a googole search ] download it and see if you can find the drivers there.
I know this is over a month old, so i'm sure the info is no longer helpful...but this 'driver' issue has plagued Ion owners since the phone released...
in reality...its not a problem...but just 50 members all sort of saying the same thing in different words...
the Lt28 series of devices does NOT need any model specific driver from that install_drivers.exe app in flashtool's directory...You ONLY have to install the flash mode driver (for an Ion with a locked boot loader) or flash mode and fast boot drivers for unlocked bootloaders, if you play on using fastboot with flashtool for various services...
you DO NOT need to install that entire list of drivers for an Ion...they have nothing to do with this series of phone...all other necessary device drivers are automatically installed when setting up PC companion, or simply plugging in the phone (if you skip pc companion)...
any issue with flash tool and it saying 'device drivers not found'...you're missing the flash mode driver...and nothing else...
Hello, I've been searching for a situation like mine for a while and was unable to find it.
My phone had the screen destroyed over the weekend and I purchased one that would not turn on to replace the broken screen. I swapped the motherboard from my working phone into the broken phone.
When I hit the power button, it vibrates and the screen will get power (no display, just a blank backlight) and the phone will power back off.
It will not boot in safe mode either.
Is this a symptom of a broken motherboard? Or are there other things I can try? I have not had a chance to hook it up to try the pc companion.
I have the old screen assembly (with the flex cable and such, digitizer and LCD are shot)
My phone is not rooted, and it is unlocked.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading!
Update:
Connected to Sony pc companion. Pc companion recognized that there was a phone and allowed me to run a repair.
Charging light came on during process (was not responsive previously).
Still will not boot. Only charges when hooked up during repair.
Still no recovery mode :/
Are there any secondary recovery programs available that you would recommend?
Sorry for the double post.

Update:
Connected to Sony pc companion. Pc companion recognized that there was a phone and allowed me to run a repair.

I'm thinking that you might have a hardware problem rather than a software problem, but if you want to try to play around some more with possible software fixes... you'll want to learn how to use Androxyde's Flashtool program. It allows us to flash firmware onto the Xperia Play, with both locked and unlocked bootloaders. (Also, I'm not sure if you are trying to get the phone to boot into a stock recovery, but the Xperia Play does not come with a stock recovery like most other android phones. If you want a recovery on it, you would need to install one).
Here's the site where you can grab the most recent Flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php

For hardware issues.... here's a thread that I had bookmarked that gives good tips for repairing the hardware on the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332296
Good luck!
Thank you! I spent the whole weekend trying the software fix. It had no result so I tried the hardware like you suggested. I swapped the ribbon cable and it did the trick!

:good: That's good to hear. Good work with sticking with it until you got it fixed.
