I am going to be buying a bluetooth headset soon for my HTC Universal pocket pc and I need help in deciding. Personally I would like to go for the best in BT headsets.
Personally I believe that the Plantronics Voyager 510SL is the best I can get and there is to be offered. I already have a Motorola HS850. Haven't used this one yet. Would anyone know if Motorola HS850 is compatible with the HTC universal? How about the Plantronics Voyager 510S BT headsets?
Anyways I would really like to know whats the best there is to offer and anything beyond plantronics.
Samsung WEP200 , Brillant BT headset and works well with UNI
agreed. Just bought one 3 days ago and it works perfectly with the universal.
Plantronics Voyager 510S
Alright looks like i am getting the best of bluetooth headsets in the market. The $400 Plantronics Voyager 510S. Just bought it off Plantronics and is arriving today. Will post pictures and performance data after testing.
Looks like it might be better than the Samsung WEP200
personally I hate these droid-headsets . personally I prefer the nokia hs-12W
Plantronics Voyager 510SL
My Plantronics Voyager 510SL has just arrived and is charging right now.
My motorola HS850 is garbage compared to the Plantronics Voyager 510SL.
I would say the Plantronics is the best bluetooth headset from all this research. .
Everything about this device is excellent. It has auto-answering, not only compatible with the Universal but other cable phones too.
You can hook it up into a phone jack and you are ready to go in home or office. Its wireless signals coverup the whole house, downstairs or upstairs and there is no disturbance what so ever. There are three earpieces included to fit all ears.
Even the HS10 phone handset can be placed right on which is robotic and lifts the reciever with the touch of the button!! Hands-free reciever??? WOW!
I use iTech BT headset. Has worked perfectly with all of my handsets till now. It wont hurt your wallet either

Plantronics Voyager 510SL Plus and HS10
Its amazing. I have never seen anything like this before. I guess this adds up to my knowledge database. This is some new technology never heard of. Indeed now it seems that Plantronics keeps their reputation and no wonder why Neil Armstrong used the plantronics headsets on the moon. These Plantronics guys are totally at the NASA scale and cannot be compared with a mere company like HTC. Infact we at xda-developers are far greater than HTC. The hardware upgrades i am talking about wont come for another 5 years. Especially Windows Photon.
Check this out for Plantronics Voyager 510SL Plus.
I hooked it up to my corded phone and there is a microphone that goes to the phone speaker. As soon as the phone rings the reciever is automatically picked up by this robotic device when it hears the phone ring. The call is forwarded to the headset which has wireless coverage throughout my office. I then answer the call and when i am done the robotic device sets down the reciever.
Amazing isn't it? This robotic device is called the HS10 accessory kit that comes with the bluetooth headset.
Motorola HS850 is no match to Plantronics. Motorola = Garbage in - Garbage out
Is this Plantronics Voyager 510SL also compatible with the HTC Wizard (imate K-Jam) ?

Any device that supports bluetooth. I think HTC Wizard has bluetooth so yes it will work with it. The Plantronics Voyager 510SL costs about $500-$600 USD along with the HS10 accessory kit.
What headset are you all using with your HC Touch?
Let us know what audio quality is like for handsfree phone function and listening to music/MP3s. Please also share your experiences in using the included HTC headset (which I think is appalling)

Had it two days - Sony DR-BT10CX Bluetooth stereo/handsfree - great for running and excellent sound quality for both calls and music.
Cheap too!
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/Sony/DR-BT10CX/Bluetooth/Stereo/Headphones
That looks great.
Unfortunately I have already a great headset... with 3.5mm connector.
Is there any MiniUSB-to-3.5mm-adapter?
Thanks

Yes, but this is without microphone. Just for listening music.

Doesnt have a button but it has a mic

Thanks, but the description says:
Description
Use this adaptor to convert the HTC Touch extUSB socket to support any 3.5mm stereo headphones. The adaptor also has a hangup/answer button for normal voice calls through a stereo headset.
So I think it has a button
Thats great
Jawbone headset is amazing
I have ordered one of these after hearing from many people just how good these are. I got mine from Expansys.co.uk

Man, those things look/sound badass...I might have to pick one of those up - I don't really have a quiet car, and I LOVE driving with the windows down! Hefty price tag on eBay though - pay to play though, right?
If you are looking at the DR-BT10CX, I suggest you get the DR-BT20NX instead because it got a remote for music - same earbuds and receiver essentially.

The HTC headset works fine for calling and music. For use in the car I have a jabra BT5020 and quality is good, auto-pair ofcourse.
I'm thinking of DIY-ing the usb to 3.5mm audio jack, does anyone have any idea how the usb connectors corresponed to the audio outputs? thanks!
Been shopping around now, since I saw that Jawbone...but I'm wondering...
Is there a Stereo Bluetooth headset with noise-canceling technology out there that anyone knows of???
I've been searching, but to no avail.
Motorola S9 for Stereo and Plantronics 665 for phone
If I am not listening to music I use the Plantronics 665. If I want to listen to music and take calls I use the Motorola S9 stereo BT headphones. The S9 is amazing for quality and fit. Don't let the strange (to some people) design fool you. These are high quality headphones. I have compared these to the Motorola 805s (DJ style) and HT820 (behind the head) and expected the S9 not to sound as good - not true. All 3 Motorola headsets sound great, but for the size the S9 sounds overall just as good if not better. I didn't like the sound of the Jabra BT headphones and the Plantronics over the head (590A) headset sounded good, but not as good as the S9.
By the way I tested a Jawbone and was not impressed at all. Didn't like the fit, sound was only OK and if you need the noise cancellation you have to press a button on the unit for 3 seconds to turn it on - each time. Certainly this is good technology, but for me the Plantronics 665 fits better and over all sounds much better.
I am using a Jabra BT620s for music and calls. Sound quality is very good. Nice fit, good battery performance and fits nicely on my head It has blue leds on both sides that blink when in use, its a bit weird at first but once you get past the oooohs and aaaahs from everyone its great
Has controls aswell (next, previous, volume up/down, accept call/hang up, play/pause) The accept/hangup key has the extra function when not in a call, it activates the voice command program so you can talk commands to your phone
has anyone tried SE HBH-DS970 with this ? comments ?
thx
sorry this is a double post
Anyone tested the HTC Touch E100 or W100 Wired Remote Control?

http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=150194
-Does it work on the Touch?
-Does it work with HTC Audio Manager?
-Does the FM Radio works?
What's the difference between E100 & W100 model?
Regards,
tigabert
I have a Nokia CK-7W buildin carkit in my car (company carkit) which also had bluetooth. Unfortunatly this bluetooth connection gives alot of problems when calling.
I can hear people fine but they hear constant break-ups in the connection. I tried it with a Sony bluetooth headset and everything worked fine.
So dont use the touch combined with a Nokia CK-7W
I'm using the Sony BT20NX and theyre absolutely the best. High quality stereo audio with AVRCP (?) remote profile which works with Windows Media Player, Audio Manager, and TCPMP. The headset is comfortable to wear, blocks outside sound so you can enjoy music at a low volume. The sound is clear and the connection is solid. The buttons are easy to use and I use it for MS Voice Command too, which is awesome. Perfect headset, if you can still find them (I heard theyre discontinued).
What is the best bluetooth stereo headset?
That's sort of a tough question to answer... I doubt many of us have experience with a large enough variety of headsets to say what's "best." You're going to get a lot of personal opinion.
I have a Motorola H700 and have been very happy with it. With my phone on the charger in my office, I can be anywhere in my house and hear clear as day. The volume goes plenty loud, it charges quickly, and is quite small and comfortable. My callers usually can't tell I'm on a headset. The flip-out-to-answer feature is really nice as well.
DR-BT20NX by sony.
Are definitely not the best
The H700 is very popular. Unfortunately, it isn't stereo.
I'll be sure to stay away from the Sony DR-BT20NX.
Check out the Jabra BT8010. It is a bit big though.
go 4 snookey s9 motorola i think i used correct name
these r those neck band ones go 4 it

I have a Sony-Ericcson HBH-DS970 and really like it - very small in-ear buds with great sound, and remote control unit for music.
Still use my Jawbone mono for when I'm just making calls - but if I'm out for a walk and want to listen to music and be able to take calls, the HBH-DS970 works great.

Hello! Asking for a nice bluetooth headset that looks like the motorola s305 that works with the captivate. Any recommendations? Or the s305 is good enough?
I like the s305 because it is cheap and has good reviews in amazon.

I have an s305 and it's worked perfectly with my Captivate.
Great! I'll be buying that then. Have u encountered any problems with it yet?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I also have a pair of the S305s. They work great with the Captivate. I've had them for about two weeks. During this time I've experienced no problems with them. Call quality is great; people say that I sound very clear. Listening audio quality is decent. I wouldn't recommend them (or any bluetooth headset) if you're an audiophile. I consider the audio quality good enough though for my purposes (running/working out). The built-in controls are convenient and work well with Pandora, Grooveshark, and the default media player. I would definitely recommend them for the price.
Blueant T1 is my fav, one ear headset that streams music. DLs phonebook automatically aswell
I have been using a pair of S305s for almost a year. I love it. Its comfortable, I wear glasses and read people had problems with others on Amazon. I too bought it for the price. Its really easy to set up, I have then linked to my phone, TV, and ps3. The controls are great, they didn't work with my iPhone, but work great in both the android phones I used. They last me all day. I use them in the car ride to and from work, and most of the time at work. They still hold a charge that will almost last me two days if I forget to charge them.
I would definately recommend then and would not hesitate to buy another if I needed one.

Motorola HT820 is a great stereo headset that works great!
if you want more freedom with your headset, you might want to take a look at the sonyericsson mw600. basically, it lets you plug in any pair of earphones/headphones you want. you can also plug in speakers for instant wireless sound system, so the use is quite versatile. i've had mine for quite a while and i've never looked back.
Just looking for personal experiences. Please provide links.
This is the easiest question ever.
Jabra BT3030. You plug in your own preferred headphones that YOU like.
I think their NEW version is called the "clipper" or something.

I have the new Motorola S10-HD headset and it is light and comfortable. Sound is decent for wireless headphones. Paired really easy and battery life is good.

If your looking for stereo, this headset is very comfortable and sounds great.

Samsung WEP870. Not only good for music, but the unit separates to let you use it as a bluetooth jawbone type headset. Adjustable volume, answers calls from the headset, and has 2 mics, as well. $~30. Bass is *excellent*, as is battery life.
