SRS effects distorts with any earphones

i´m here again LOL
Continuing with the improvement of my DHD....
I´VE detected that in the music player (i´ve tried some music players)
there are a problem... when i change the sound effect to DOLBY MOBILE, works fine and better than without it...
but if i select SRS effects the music distorts in any earphone that i use (since high quality big sony earphones... to the htc little earphones...)
If I select SRS effects without earphones it does a frightful noise
there´s some people that happen it?
I don't get this effect.
I'm using a pair of SoundMagic PL15s (surprisingly good yet incredibly cheap) and I have no distortion at all.
I'm running LeeDroid 3.0.0 and his 3.0.2 kernel.
I'll see if I can dig up the bundled HTC 'phones and see if there's any difference.

It think it's because SRS boosts bass.
Try using equalizer bass boost and you get the same effect.
If you turn the volume to 13/15 the distortion is gone.
I tried it with some crappy only one side working philips earphones to my beloved Razer Carcharias headset and both had the same effect.
(I'm using ARHD 5.1.3 btw, which has the headphones volume fix and 10% boost on loudspeaker. I had the same effect with froyo though)

EDIT:AHH you have just given me an idea.. MAYBE ITS possible that i have a earphones distortion because the all the audio outpunts are boosted 10%
when i try to select the equalizer and select bass boost my earphones (Factory htc earphones & SONY mdr z 1000 ) also.. distorts. BUT IN FEWER DEGREE THAN SRS...

Yes. Full eq for speaker, phone, and blutooth. You have to flash the zip which you can find in xboarders thread

To clarify, clamman asked if DSP manager can increase the volume of the speaker, not change the EQ. I am curious as well..

I don't think you know exactly what an equalizer is or what it does. An equalizer adjusts the intensities of specific frequency bands independently. For example, it lets you increase the intensity of bass frequencies and lower the treble frequencies if you wish.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equalization
Equalizers are NOT volume knobs.

no one has any ideas to make it louder? i need help please lol
The speaker already gets fuzzy at max volume. It's pointless to try and use software to force it to get louder, it's not a high quality speaker.
I'd be more inclined to take it apart, and replace the speaker with a higher quality one, but that's only if you're really willing to put some effort into things.

where can i get a louder and better speaker that will fit?
I have no idea how loud you want your G2 speakers especially when the speakers are not the best ever. However I believe if you are running a sense rom and you flash the Unity Kernel (In my signature) it supports a 20% audio boost you may try that. They are also currently looking for another way to boost audio so maybe in awhile the audio boost will be greater.

So.. increase the volume of all frequencies and then you increased the overall volume?

It depends on whether the said equalizer (such as DSP) is actually boosting the frequencies above their "normal" levels, or just allows you to "cut" the various frequencies below their present level.
For anyone on Gingerbread, the app Volume+ allows you to boost actual volume, in addition to an equalizer, and with different profiles for headset, speaker and Bluetooth. The volume increase is not huge, but its definitely helpful. Its a paid app on the Market, but free on the dev's website:

yeap i know that is what i mean
Maybe i misunderstood you
Search "volume+"
Equalizer
If you have cyanogenmod you can enable the equalizer in DSPManager, select a custom effect and put all the frequencies to the top. If you don't have cyanogenmod I suppose there will be similar equalizers in the android market. Althought the music sounds higher, it's also more distorsioned. Sorry for my english !
I have tried all equalizer even used CM7.2 and the beats audio but still no help. I think it's better to keep phone in vibration mode.
Seriously, get volume+. It does work on this phone.

Xperia S Headphone Volume

I have read quite a lot about this issue, but haven't found a solution yet. The volume output on my Xperia S is very low, but I know there is something which is restricting it from producing a louder volume because when I play a movie using MX player the volume is very loud and crisp.
How do I increase the volume through the headphones? Any fix/mod fr the same?

make sure that your phone is rooted,go to play store, download beats audio installer,it did wonders for me....if its still not loud enough
download poweramp, select the loud preset and boost the preamp all the way up
the reason why mx player produces louder sound compared to the stock players because it uses software decoding as opposed to hardware decoding which lets it bypass the inbuilt limit the same applies to poweramp
XS
try volume+ on the playstore, the volume 's good but the sound is not good :|
cheers :good:
Did you delete the sound level alert apk? I had this issue of it not going above half volume because I deleted the apk before anything else. I had to put it back and let it warn me before removing it.

Exactly my case. Removed SoundLevelAlert.apk and now can't increase volume with headphones plugged.
I copied the apk back to phone, installed it, but nothing changed. I still can't increase volume over 8/15. Rebooted - no luck.
It was a system app, maybe you can't make it work by just installing the apk?
Any ideas?
//Sony Xperia P, ICS
MX player can play audio files if you do a little tweaking in the settings. The audio quality is just awesome using the h/w+ decoder, beats any market player app in this regard. Hope they make a audio player. Poweramp was good but the sound quality was terribly unpleasant on increasing the volume so I ruled it out.
I have the same problem, but do not delete anything. Any idea?
Hm, I don't have these problems. I'm using the Headset which was delivered which my Xperia S or the SONY MDR XB-500 and I think it's loud enough.
My Musicplayer is PowerAmp. So maybe you could change your musicplayer?
Buy headphones with increased sensitivity
i pushed the attached app in system/app !
set permissions to rw-r-r and it gives me warning everytime i exceed the volume and i can exceed the volume to 100% max !
this apk should work with all stock ics based roms !
Would you please care to tell us which headphones you have cuz maybe your headphones might not be compatible with Xperia ... But if you are having issues with speaker too than its altogether a different evil

Saved my day Batman! Thanks!
All those who have their headphones volume stuck at 50% or 60%, just flash this zip in CWM and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache - http://d-h.st/caM
Reboot and enjoy. It is confirmed to we working for most of the people.
I noticed louder music when bass boosting and all those fancy settings in stock player and poweramp are turned off
Acid Audio Engine v7 did the job for me and the sound quality is much much better and louder now.

Walkman has awful sound. I use Xears XN1 headphones and PowerAMP + Beats Audio = best sound. No one different player and sound mod has something resoult like this way.
If you mean loudness when you talk about good sound I cant agree with you. Good sound is clear sound.
Yeah bro I read your replies yes I know that using power amp only gives not extreme quality song but can u tell me how to use beats audio with power amp
And bro have also used viper sound mod but didn't got that quality........
I mentioned that I am inspired by galaxy s1 dsp manager its setting of vm8688 where can adjust amplifier level and bass in DB if anyone of u know about that......
And bro remember to give method of using beats audio with power amp surely will try that........
