What a strange problem. First time it happened to me today. Play Store notified me of updates but I couldn't update the apps due to errors 941 & 921. Trying to view one of the apps returned an error too (forgot the code). I was going to uninstall Play Store as Mawdo suggested, but then I thought of trying to restore a nandroid backup which I had taken yesterday when everything was working fine. I restored the backup, and Play Store updated and downloaded apps with no errors.
Obviously this is a bit convoluted and time consuming than just uninstalling the Play Store update, but I wanted to share that this works too. Something during the course of the day could have borked Play Store on my phone.
Happen to me to last night. It seem google was working on the store because it works fine now.

The Google Play Store is experiencing some issues, they will be resolved shortly. Sit tight.

How do you update back to Play once you update the apps you need? I guess it doesn't matter THAT much, since it's essentially just a name change, but I'm wondering.

problem with widgets
when i try to put snote widget in the screen, its says dont have space in screen lol??????
cleared google play and everything works fine
try this but bear in mind that i'm using a custom ROM so it might be a little different with you. Go to Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Access Point Names (or APN). Now select the APN that u are using. (I chose MTN Data since i'm MTN. Now go to "Proxy". There should be a number in there, delete everything that's in there and leave that field blank. Go to "Port" and clear everything as well. It worked for me.hope it works for u too.

Hi everyone,
I have a GNex running 4.1.1 via the OTA Upgrade from 4.0.4. I am rooted, but running the stock google rom and kernel. My dilemna is that ever since I upgraded to JB, when updating apps, it'll download to 100% and sit there. I have to force stop the app, then as soon as I jump back into the play store, it updates my app. Would reinstalling the gApps help does anyone think? I really don't want to do a factory reset... Any ideas from anyone? Thanks!

Hi i have an Samsung Galaxy S Blaze and i was having trouble with the Play store to the apps will get to 100% when updating but wouldn't complete and i searched around and actually found this thread while searching lol but i found out that if you uninstall the updates to the Play store like when i did it it went back to 3.47 and when i tried updating all my apps again it worked just fine so it looks like it's a Google Play issue not your phone
So you can try that hopefully it works but it looks Google Play store updates automatically which i don't know how to stop but like the link says to try out AppBrain App Market which i am trying to set up now

Hi all, looking for a little help here.
My wife and I both have AT&T Galaxy S3 phones. We updated them both to Jellybean through Kies.
For some reason on my wife's phone, I can't update Google Now (google search). In the play store from her phone it says her device is not compatible. If I log into the play store from a computer, it shows her device is compatible but when I try to download it, it says oops and to try again later. I tried clearing cache and data on the phone but am still having the same issue.
I was able to update my phone to the new google now version with no issues.
Any suggestions?

I had issues with Google search FC'ing on me earlier. I used TiBu to uninstall it completely, then re-installed from Google Play. Fixed my issues. You can see if it will help you.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately these phones are stock (not rooted) so I don't have the option to uninstall. If it why my phone I would just root and try your suggestion.
Sadly, that is a no fly zone for my wife.
Hey I had this issue last night but I did Mr Robinsons method with the rooted official JB he provided and I was able to update the Google now as you described.
Anyone else have any suggestions? I can't root her phone so I need a non-root alternative.
This issue seems to have just resolved itself today. Checked my wife's phone when I got home from work and it let me update no problem. Thank you to those that offered suggestions.

If it happens again, try clearing data for Google search.

I recently bought a Zeki TBD753B. It was cheap thats why I bought it. It has Jelly Bean on it.
I have read through every possible post I could. I found out I had to root the tablet and install google play.
I have followed a lot of the posts I have seen. I was able to root it, but for some reason Google Play just will not work properly. I can get it installed but everytime I run the app it crashes on me after 5 to 10 seconds. I get "unfortunately Google Play has stopped working". I have even used Link2SD to change it from a user app to a system app. At this point it won't even load and i get the stopped working message right away. I can only assume that I am missing some kind of file. I tried the newest versions of Play and even an older version down to 3.5.19. I have tried clearing the data and the catche. I am at a loss.
The only reason It is such a big deal to me is that a majority of the apps I want to download seem to be only on Play.
forget this post
I finally got it figured out.
It had something to do with the version of Play I was using when I installed it.

Which version did you get to work and do you have a link to it?
So I rooted my phone because i wanted full control over it.
I know a bit about android and stuff because im an app developer. But I have ruined my phone because i wanted to go back to the old market. I dont like the new google play so i decided to delete everything associated with google play store. And i know google play services updates the store so i also uninstalled it. When i realized that i couldn't have the market, i decided to revert back to google play. But now all the apps are saying "google play services error" or it needs an update. I have downloaded the latest version off the web (i cant get the play store to work :/) But i have tried lots of versions of both google play and google play services. None work! Any tips? I might have deleted the marketupdater.apk or something. Not sure....
Any help appreciated!

Maybe flashing a matching gapps package with cache/dalvik wipe might help. Though not if your on stock. Though if on stock flashing your stock ROM again with just a cache wipe might help.
Only guessing here though. I'd usually just flash my whole system from fresh if I came across a problem like this because I'm OCD about things like that.
Hi,
Anyone getting an error on Google Play Store installing apps or app updates? Some weeks ago one of my installed apps had an update and when installing it gave an error -- no error code as far as I could see. The update continued to be listed every time I went to the Store and stayed there. Finally I decide to uninstall / install the app hoping it would fix the issue. But no, then I couldn't install the app all together, producing the same error. I've contact the developers and after some weeks they replied saying it was an issue on Google's Store. I've reach Google which after investigating, are not aware of any similar problem. I've also done all the procedures recommended in such situation like cleaning cache, data, ... from Google Store; removing and adding back Google ids on the devices, nothing. Unable to solve this I finally gave up some days back.
Yesterday, the problem started with another app update. I see the update, click install, it downloads, starts installing, gives an error and goes back to be listed in the available updates...
Any help welcome.
Thanks.
Same thing happened to me, the reason is Google Play, I uninstalled Google play since my Chinese version didnt come with one, I then had to use a third party installer and installed the newest Google play and everything went back to normal and was able to install all the apps I havent been able to in the last 2 months but didnt care enough to figure it out until last week when I got fed up.
Hi,
Thanks for the inputs.
I've the EVR-L29 running Google services so I can only remove the updates from the Store, data and cache; which I did but didn't solve the problem. I also removed Google user, reboot, and added it back. Issue still persists...
I've contact Google and seems they are not aware of any similar problem. At least that was the feedback I received.
I do see a couple of comments of other users of the app I can't install with the same problem; someone with a Xiaomi and another user with a Huawei phone.
Any ideas? Thanks.
The only thing I can go by is what occurred to me I couldn't install chipotle app or anything, it took uninstalling it, I do know there is a command to uninstall apps and there was an app as well, been awhile but if memory serves me right, the app you used to find the location was App inspector then you had to uninstall it through and adb command line. I would check to see what version of Google Play you have installed. The version I installed that fixed my issue was version 25.4.20-21
