can somebody help ..the phone still under warrenty ..my son cracked the screen ..can i send it to samsung or att to replace it
I'm sure you can send it to Samsung..your warranty will be void and it will be expensive to fix..the screen itself costs over $100

If it's under warranty call AT&T or go see them and they will replace it for you.
If you do end up sending it to samsung let us know how much it costs to replace.

Correction If it is cracked it may not be replaced under warranty but AT&T should tell you how to get it serviced.

Any luck? I have a smashed screen, too.
Can either of you upload a pic of the damage? Sorry for making you relive the horror but I would like to see how well or bad these devices take a hit.
Did you happen to have a screen protector? I have one on mine its a good idea to have one if you didnt

I would sell it on eBay and the money you get I would put towards buying the same phone or a new phone

not really what i was thinking, but thanks anyway.
I was quoted £30 to repair the screen which is fairly cheap here seeing as I've been quoted between £50 - £70.
also the unlocking of this phone has somewhat evaded me as of late as for a while I was led to believe that you needed special leads and programs to do so, but I'm sure a few hours trawling through here should get me somewhere.
Again thanks for the help dude
In American money I think 30 pounds is about 50 bucks? So to get it repaired would be the best way, but I wouldnt pay more then 30 pounds because phones on ebay are selling pretty cheap and you could of bought a used phone, just my opinion..hope this helps

thanks again good advice but yeah I think getting it fixed would probably be the best route to take, as i said if I had all the required tools I would have just done it myself.
But those touch screens are notoriously hard to remove.
Alright man good luck

Anyone know where I can get an OEM replacement battery cover? Mines scratched a little and I want a new one, Samsung's site only didn't list them for the At&t model. Ebay was a no go.

I would like to know this as well. Tired of having a protective film on the back over as it reduced the feel and easily get dirty.
Could OP let us know how much it could cost??
Thx!
So I bought my phone from Sprint. I wanna get a protection but am not sure which one to get. Am I allowed to get the best buy one? Also, are there better options I have besides Best Buy and Sprint? Lastly could someone tell me how either would work if I say cracked my screen or dropped it in water? Thanks!

Call geeksquad and see if they will even though you bought it from sprint they are 1 dollar cheaper and have no deductible

Best Buy I will not allow you to get their protection plan because you did not purchase the phone from them they only allow that with iPhones. Also with Best Buy if you cracked screen or drop it in water they will places with Sprint I am Not sure if they will replace it if you drop it in water but with that Best Buy is not cover lost or stolen. I use to work for Best Buy so I know

I had mine replaced. It was great for the 20 mins I got to use it. And then SDS hit it lol. If you get an official one it fits nicely.
We have a phone tech at work who did it for me and he said it was easy to do.
You think if I paid to have samsung replace it that would be best?

Well, you'd still have an intact warranty, at least.
My mrs had a note 1 and last December smashed the screen, it was approx £200 to get it replaced, which was almost the value of the device at the time. So I bought her a note 2 for xmas. She's either very clumsy or very cleaver

I smashed my Australian GN2 - but a couple of months after buying. I don't think the glass is as Gorilla as they claim. The official ways to get it fixed all seem fairly expensive but there are some diy videos on youtube and there seems to be a difference between replacing just the glass and replacing the whole screen.
I sent mine in to SquareTrade a few weeks ago. They charged me $99 (deductible) but replaced the screen and the chrome edges. Phone looks like brand new.

I have tried turing the phone off and back on and even taking the battery out for 10 minutes yet the crack in the screen is still there.

Lmao wait. Are you saying you think taking the battery out can fix a broken, glass screen? Unfortunately you have to buy a replacement screen and install it, over pay at a local store or if you have insurance pay the 130 deductable

I agree though, anywhere you send it to is likely gonna charge close to what you already found. You could Google and check ebay and craigslist for galaxy repair service to be sure though.

What screens have you been changing? It seems pretty straight forward I am just not wanting to replace the lcd as well as it can get quite expensive. The hardest part it seems is getting the class off and unstuck and cleaning it all off any tips or suggestions?
