[Confirmed!] Galaxy Ace's boot.img / Kernel won't work and won't brick Gio!

So I was busy building a Rom when I forgot to replace the Ace's boot.img with Gio.
Once I reboot the phone got a bootloop at Samsung and it had a fading away animation..
I was scared lol! So I looked back at my workspace and noticed the it was still Ace's kernel.
Conclusion:
Galaxy Ace's boot.img / Kernel does not brick your Gio! Well.. This was only tested with the StockLite Rom
Did u knew that htc sensation boot img also work

You are awesome...
You can't brick Gio by flashing kernel. You can flash even ARMv7 kernel. It won't work but it also won't brick your phone.

[Q] tun.ko

sorry.. im just wanna ask.. is that gio have tun.ko? stock rom? cm7 nightly? im confused im install droid vpn.. but.. no tun.ko

1. Support of tun.ko are in Custom Kernels
2. From where u can get one? U cant get one since its a kernel module which will be builded when u apply it in the device manifest of the compiler ^^
is that cm7.2 from marcin have it?? which rom have it?? which kernel have??

[Q] Stable rom ????

Hey
I have tried many roms and i can't get a decent for my gio.
Cm9 and cm10 is not stable for my daily use.
Don't get me wrong , i like it very much that there are people who can do this all.:good::good::good::good::good::good:
So what i like to have is a rom that has a working stk app (need it allot ) and the sound loud enough (message sound on stock rom was not loud enough)
So can someone guide way to the right rom.
Thank u in front:laugh:

Well CM 7.2 is very stable and has DSP Enhancer that is very good. My phone doesn`t have a very good battery life with CM 7.2 so i use other roms Also stable and fast roms that i used are Adrenaline and DebianDroid , both very fast and good
I will try (SGS2 jb v10 rom)
It looks great and stable
I will download it but not now maybe after 4 day's
I will post a reply when I flash it

Hi
Thx (voetbalremco)
But I want more explain!!
Can any one help me?
My brother realy liked this rom when I showed it to him...so plz help

i model came out later than the 'normal ace'
Has stock gingerbread updated out of the box
From outside its an ace, not from inside.
Thats why you need to check the 5830i forum and download roms there, not on the 5830 forum.

Ok thx

ace model i is not the same as ace+.
it is an ace with different modules, kernel, and updated to have 2.3 out of the box instead of froyo.
does not have armv7 processor.

I have checked this rom in the both (5830 & 5830i) forums, and the rom was in the 5830 forum
So, I think it will not work on my brother phone (5830i)
And I was want to try flashing the rom, but I remembered that I haven't the original stock rom to flash it if the custom won't work
So I will let this crap rom go to hell
