No experience with those particular batteries, but I do have some experience with ebay batteries in general - again, not bashing this seller or this particular product, but typically what I've found is you'll get a 100% charge for the first week or two, and after that those batteries will degrade quickly. If you don't mind switching out batteries it may not be that big a deal to you, but getting my case off and back open and rebooting the phone isn't my idea of convenience. Personally, I'd rather spring for an external charger if I'm really in need of extra battery time...
Good luck with those

I also found this battery on ebay with a 3000Mah rating:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3000mAh-BAT...026630?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27bd710a86
Unfortunately it does not come with the extended back plate for our phone but this is the correct battery model. Wonder how long this battery would last.

My cousin bought the 2x1800mAh and gave me one a couple days ago. My battery is still good but thought I'd try it out. On average I get about maybe 9-ish hours per charge. Over the past 2 days with the new battery, I got 7 hours. I use my phone a lot and I work in a building that's network-resistant so it gives my phone extra work trying to get a signal. Like Lookin4Trouble said, if you don't mind switching out batteries then it's not a big deal. But if my OEM battery ever dies, I'd rather waste my money by taking a take a swing at the monster 3600mAh Mugen battery.
But right now I am using the ORIGINAL Samsung 1800mAh battery of Epic-Touch-4G... It is slightly bulkier than the one came with glide... But fits TIGHTLY with the glide's original cover without any issue... Initially you may find it tough to close the back, but don't worry, it will fix like glove and phone will work perfectly... I am using this now in my glide...
The original glide 1650mAh battery + cover will have half or one mm play (gap) initially.. After placing the 1800mAh battery of Epic-Touch, that gap was gone and phone battery life is also improved a little bit...

Ebay batteries are a gamble.
I purchased 8 AA rechargeables last year, they were advertised at being 2500mah. When I held them, I noticed they were too light to be 2500mah so I used a battery analyzer on all eight, the results were as expected

Well I ended up buying this battery.

I get about 2 days of light use now vs 1 day of light use. I would say that it is worth it for 12$ Also I think that the captivate glide is too thin.
Well I took the plunge and decided to order the Galaxy SII 4G Touch battery. I will post up pictures and results afterwards. I am just hoping that the battery will fit.

OK so it's been quite some time now since you have bought these batteries, so can you provide some feedback please? Are your batteries still usable (have not swollen, still hold charge etc.)? If not, can you tell me how long the batteries lasted you before they needed to be replaced? Can you also provide me with specific links to the webpages you bought your batteries from?
Many thanks.
Well I have changed a dozen phones after posting that. But if my memory serves right, it gave better battery life than stock battery and I have experienced no problems during the few months I have used.

I've bought Mugen (standard, not the huge extended) and I'm very happy with it. >4 hours screen time.
Sorry to resurrect an older topic, but i am debating getting a new battery with how flaky mine has been at times lately.
Im curious about the 1800mah one that fits in the standard case/backing. Are all of the functional numbers the same? Would it mess it up voltage wise to look up one of those batteries instead??

In case you need an extended battery now, I can report success with a Mugen 3200mAh unit that was intended for a Sprint Touch Pro 2. It cost $70 or 80 when I bought it around Christmas time from an eBay vendor (couldn't find it anywhere else online). Turns out the person I got it for had a Touch Pro 1 and this battery was not compatible so it's been sitting around the house ever since. I just popped it into my EVO 4G and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Boots up normally and is charging as expected. Of course the back plate does not fit over the fat battery so I left that off and replaced the jelly case which stretches over the whole thing well enough.

Hero batteries work also.. a lot of HTC phone's use the same batteries. I have like 4 batteries for my evo lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280492889203&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I bought these a while back.. worked great in my hero and work just as good in my evo. Plus now I have a standalone wall-charger. Took about a week or so to get here since its coming from Hong Kong.. But it was well worth the ~$10 for 2 batteries and a charger..
ok, i stole its soul for you.
well im glad i order mine from seidio since it comes with the back case but this is good info so i can pass my oem battery to my wife for hero hero with weak battery life
Lol. Nice evo . It's the humpback of xda.

that is disgusting! but more power to you hahaha...lets hope seidio lets you buy just the ext battery cover
oh sweet mother of god i would feel all grossed out if i tried to handle my phone and it was all squishy at the parts that aren't touching the battery or the frame...
How's the battery life with the 3200? After doing some battery life tweaks and mods mine seems to almost be sufficent with the stocker, but it can always use some improvement.
If you don't mind sacrificing the case, I would try cutting a rectangle in it that would leave the protruding part of the battery exposed and let the case hug the phone the way its supposed to. If you cut it just right, the batt should stay in place since it looks like it has a bit of an edge for the case to grip on to.
I'M starting think I should just cancel my order for the 3500 battery and get me 2 1500. What do you guys think?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm using the battery from my tp2 as a spare, and carry it in the smaller pocket in my jeans,i don't even feel it there sometimes. With battery tweaks and charging it in my car (usually around 30 min at a time), I only have to occasionally change to the 2nd battery. If you are sensitive to bulk, then go for 2 batteries to split the load, otherwise a bigger battery is more convenient.

Given some of the results from BatteryBoss, I'd say that the battery isn't going to perform at a full 3500mAh. It will still be more than an OEM battery, sure, but I couldn't justify doubling the size of the phone to put it in. You might be better off getting another OEM battery, HTC seems to give about 99% of what they say.
if that site batteryboss is accurate then Mugen's batteries are crap. twice the size for 50% more juice. however, some anecdotal evidence to the contrary: after buying the wrong one, i bought another Mugen extended battery that does work for the TP1 and the recipient is very happy with it. reports that the 3200mAh it lasts about twice as long as the OEM battery.
probably smart to just get another HTC 1500mAh. after the latest update battery drain is much less of an issue anyway.
So can I just go in to a sprint store and ask for a hero battery For free?

The batteries + charger that was listed earlier in this thread work GREAT I've been using them for a few days now great freaking deal ($10 shippped)
Anyone know if the Tilt battery here will fit the Evo with a modified case / back plate? http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Extended-Li-Ion-Battery-RHOD170/dp/B002Y24MJ2
I know Seidio makes a modified back plate that looks like it would fit this and according to battery boss this is the gold standard of extended batteries.
Also confirmed, the Mugen 4500mAh battery for Sprint Touch Pro 2 works in the Evo as expected. It's very... thick. About as thick as the Evo with a jelly sleeve on. Put together it's like the Evo has it's own little podium to stand on.
Assuming batteryboss tests are accurate then true capacity is closer to 75% or ~3375mAh. Main purpose for me is a power supply that can run GPS tracking apps like Cardio Trainer all day uninterrupted. Thickness not an issue since the whole package is tucked away in a Camelback.
Got it on eBay, I don't know where else to find them. Mugen is OOS and ridiculously expensive anyway. An alternative would be an external battery pack that supplies power through a USB port, then cable it to Evo.
Did anyone had tried ebay 2000mha battery? I winder what is the best and cheapest battery that I can get that does not require new cover.

I got the battery, I didn't notice a huge difference but I haven't tracked it at all.
They're are lying to you. basically any battery that's the same size as the stock battery is going to have the same amount of power as the stock battery. The only way to get extra juice is to add extra bulk. However, Seidio makes batteries that don't add extra bulk. Those are rated at 1750 mah. While I still you won't get much more battery life out of these, there at least a reputable company you can trust.
Andida is suppose to be better than a no-name battery. It is a name brand, just a cheaper name-brand and known in China. I bought their 2000mah battery and it seems to be about as good as the stock 1500mah. Then, i found that BatteryBoss tested the Andida 2000mah and it actually tested to be worse than the stock 1500mah Evo battery. I wouldnt want you to waste your money. I guess Seidio would be the only option because Mugen didnt do to good either at BatteryBoss. Sucks too, because they are so expensive, but if you MUST keep the factory battery door and want more juice than thats about your only option. I bought the 3000mah ebay battery with extended battery door and it is just awesome!! Yes, it is bigger. But, its actually VERY nice and looks and feels good with the bigger cover. Oh, and it is hard to kill . I turned on every radio and streamed music over wifi to bluetooth speakers for hours last night trying to run it down and only lost about 7% in the 2 hour span of doing this....
I tried the Andida 2000 and was not better then the OEM battery. Also have the extended 3500 from ebay(10.00) and works well, go a whole day+ with wifi, gps, sync on with mild to moderate use. Switch off and on with the oem and extended.
The 2000mah battery is garbage doesnt last longer than oem bat like others have said. I bought a 1800mah battery from ebay. its been over 24hrs and Im at 22% after 2hrs of calls, 30 txts, 1hr web browsing, & 1hr of pandora, bt is on all day too! I highly recommend, here's the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x1800mAh-Battery-Dock-Charger-Sprint-HTC-Evo-4G-/250661324218?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5c9445ba#ht_3914wt_807
The andida 2000 I purchased was a good battery but I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I currently have a 3500mah battery. I see that there are also 2000mah galiliO batteries now available. I was thinking of getting one and comparing it to the stock battery and the andida 2000. I don't know if the galilieO batteries are 2000mah or just the re-labeled 1800mah batteries that are all over ebay.
@snowplow
you say the only way to add more juice is by adding bulk, but then in the next sentence say seidio is able to do it without adding bulk? not really making sense there! seidios battery i believe tested to be in the 1400s, below the OEM.

Just bought 2 for $16 with a charger... So I'll let you know. Can't see myself being uber angry if it is the same as stock, as having a few spare batteries for mere pittance is great. Gotta love that eBay...
Galilio 2000mah. We'll see.
I actually got the Galileo batteries as well, so far, I'm seeing a little better than usual battery life. which makes me optimistic, considering you don't see the true potential until a few charge cycles, I just got them yesterday.
If you guys are running after market batteries here's a tip.
I have been running my Sedio 1800 mah (I know tested only comes to 1500) and lately my phone has been powering off on it's own. It happened to at the same time as I was running various gingerbread roms so I thought it had something to do with that. After some experimentation I realized that it was happening when I dropped my phone on the desk(ohh, yes I have a tpu case on the phone). I thought great, its a hardware issue and I don't have a warranty. Then after a long day streaming and lots of phone calls I needed to swap batteries and I installed my stock battery. I then noticed that my power off issues went away. I dropped the phone on the desktop 10 more times and no issues. So apparently the Sedio battery doesn't fit quite right in the phone, so wedged some paper at the top of the battery to try to give a little more pressure on the battery pins and that seems to have solved the issue.
the galilios are good batteries for the price, but i believe them to be closer to 1300mah based on my results vs stock.

Just got a "Galilio" 2000mah yesterday. I'll be seeing how it works out over the next few days and report back. It is blatantly for a TP2 but fits VERY snugly in the EVO, (almost too snugly) and is a pain to get in and out. I have to use the corner of my back cover to pry it out...but if it gives me more battery I'll be taking it out less...

I have the exact same thing!. I actually had to rake a razor to one of them and Shane off a little bit of plastic from the top of the battery. Just a tiny bit. Fits perfect now.
There's already a discussion regarding this battery and others at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925298
That thread is more current than this one that started in Sept '10. Should we use that thread instead of keeping 2 very similar ones? Just a thought.
I have the Andida battery- worked great for a few weeks. Then I started to notice it would lose its charge fast. But this battery stated it was for the TP2- either way it fits the Evo. But when I had it on my TP2- it would hold a good charge.
I love the ebay 3500 batteries- great and still holding a charge (had it for almost a year). I use this one I am going on a long trip or Army training.
I have two of the Galilio 2000mah batteries- made for the TP2- no need to shave any crap- fits perfectly on my Evo. I measured both the OEM and the Galilio batteries- no difference. The Galilio is worth my $9- and I want that OEM look- I also ordered a white OEM Htc back cover. Read somewhere here in XDA- charge your batteries atleast once on a wallcharger- not usb. I find the batteries last longer.
Note, i did buy a generic 2000mah (non Galilio brand)- that was crap.
I have (2) 3500 mAh batteries, (1) 3000 mAh battery, (2) Galilio 2000 mAh batteries, (1) 1750 mAh Seidio battery... and others.

I bought a case for my Xperia play from them and it's seriously the best £2.50 I've spent in a long time. I've tried 4 cases ranging from the obscenely expensive to the acceptably cheap and their case is by far the best. Easy clip on, easy take off (though it wont ever come off by accident) and it feels/looks very nice.
Cannot recommend it enough, especially after seeing all the negative reviews for every other case in existence for the play.
HOWEVER - this was my first experience buying from Ecell and all was well and good. Unfortunately, hundreds other people have had DREADFUL experiences with them, ranging from fake sd cards to tampered/used/busted phones being delivered and even negligence towards contemporary buyer/seller code and morals.

I suggest you visit that link and consider carefully before purchasing the battery. I too was thinking of buying that battery but was turned off by the comments in that link.
If you do decide to buy it, let me know if it's worth it please!
EDIT: LOL jgregoryj1 beat me to it
E-Cell are a bit hit and miss, had some good and bad experiences with them, Looked at that exact battery for my play but just looks too good to be true in my opinion
Brought a case from them and it arrived in 2 days. Great case for the play too
But then again once brought a Motorola Milestone from them which took 3 weeks to arrive and came all in chinese. So like I said, the companies very hit and miss. So you take the chance with anything you buy with them
Saying that, Unlike some other people, I think the stock battery on the play is bloody marvellous. Really appreciate it after the crappy 1230mAH battery I had in my last phone - the HD7. You were lucky to get half a day out of that.

yeah i actually found this link "http://fotios.org/node/2173" whilst looking for other vendors selling that battery after i saw the posts about it in the battery thread. They seem fine with cheap items and bad with anything +100 dollars from what people are saying on that forum.
I ended up getting the mugen 3600 myself, but i thought id post up the link so people here could make their own informed decisions, if anyone does buy it, please post and let us know how it goes, i think alot of people would be keen for a bigger stock battery at that bargain price(if it works).

i have also an 3600mha battery for my r800i and the duration icreased to about 50%.
The extended cover is really nice and fits perfectly. the only problem with the extended cover is, that it squeaks.
The extended cover also improve the gameplay with the xperia play because with the thicker back you can play really good with the gamepad.
Found this extended battery on ebay, was wondering if anyone on here has tried it, i know it looks hideous, but if you know your making a trip somewhere it could come in handy if it works the way its supposed to. Its cheap as hell too.

9 bucks... can't be too great,
but what can you lose? lol
Seems to me that if the larger aftermarket brands have trouble meeting the stated mAh rating on their batteries, what more of unbranded ones that goes for an even lower value?
I also still have very clear memory on exploding phones from third party batteries years ago
I bought a cheapo 3800mah and it lasts barely longer than my stock extended battery. I wish samsung made an official 3800mah version

Buy 2 stock batteries and solder them together. Works great.
3500 real mah. I didn't think the 2000 extended batteries would fit under the cover from the Hyperion I had here. I agree though, if I can solder it up in an evening, Samsung certainly could work up something.
hopefully more phones in the future will be like the razr and give us a factory extended battery closer to 3000mah.
Razr maxx when I had it for a week was sick! Hard use all day, charged every other day, seriously insane battery life. If that phone ever gets bootloader unlocked, I would be all over it again.

Have you done this solder thing? Any tips?
if you look at the battery in the phone you can see that there is some space at the top of each terminal, use this space to solder a fine piece of copper wire to a second battery. make sure to solder the batteries in parallel, positive to positive and negative to negative, to retain the same voltage.
i remember taking apart a so called 3500mah battery from ebay and they were just two cheap 1500mah batteries tapped together. Apparently in china 1500X2 is 3500.
Why does everyone want extended batteries? 99% of people have access to a power cord most of the day and just don't need it. Granted, I'm new to the phone, but I really hope I don't need to carry around a huge battery or two. Personally I'd rather charge it more often. Just my own opinion.

I bought a 3600 mAh extended battery for a few dollars on ebay. Despite the fact that it makes my phone look like a beached whale, it totally got rid of my power shortage anxiety. My most useful ebay purchase so far..

Even If it's 1500 that's still 3000mah for less than $10. Pretty good deal.

they start loosing capacity after the first few charges and became unusable after 3-4 months.

As long as you know that I don't see a problem. Spend $10, use it for 6 months, buy another one. Much better than spending $100 for a mugen.
Even the Samsung batteries lose their capacity over time.

It needed more space than I felt OK taking up in someone else's thread.. So here.

Hey guys with so many options and reviews I am so confused on which battery to get. Currently I have the 4200 hyperion battery but honestly it is way to big for me and I miss the slim GS3 feel. So whats the best standard battery to get, should I get an regular Samsung 2100 or maybe the anker 2200? Also what is the best slim charging case out there? I found one on ebay for 16 but dont know how reliable that will be.
I'd say get the Anker 2200, slight improvement over stock while keeping the original size.
Okay cool and, whar, kind, of external, charger, case, do you recommend?

I don't really use charging cases so I wouldn't know. I use the Anker 4400 so I don't need any charging devices, personally I don't really find it adds that much bulk with extended batteries.
I just bought a cheap 2300mha replacement battery + an external charger on Ebay. Total costs were like 6 Euros. I will test them and provide you with details once they get to me
or you can wait for the 3000mah samsung battery coming up next month
It will stay slim
Size difference

I saw some pictures of the 3000 battery on one site but showing that Samsung has not released it yet I don't know if I should use that as guide material. However, the picture shows that the battery is ever so slightly thicker. Your phone may work on a soft case but a hard case, not so much. But eh, we will see once it comes out. COME ON SAMSUNG LETS GET IT OUT HERE!
I have found out from Samsung website themselves that the new 3000 battery will come with an extended cover so it will increase in size for sure. So any other choices for slim battery if not i think i might go with the anker 2200 over the OEM!
ive got an 2400 motec battery and im pleased with it
