just a question thought.. are u trying to make the bt handfree buttons to work also? like answering the call or something like that? if not then i think nearly every BT handfree should work if u set it up properly because it just need to play the sound and record the sound just like it would normally need in the "normal call"
Just tried on ics rom LP2....i can confirm that bt handsfree not working on skype....

Not sure if this should be in accessories or not but I've been looking into getting a head unit for my car and have been wondering whether there is good android integration on decks these days. I was looking into the Kenwood excelon series but I didn't know how well they function with the e4gt, Google music, usb, and bluetooth. I've tried searching the Internet for my answers but have gotten various answers, so I decided to get your guys input.
Not sure if blue tooth connectivity or usb would be better- I've heard that id3 tags won't show up by way of bluetooth in some cases. I want a deck that I can select my music from since it's against the law to use my cell phone while driving here, and I would like to continue using Google music because everything is in the cloud. If need be I could always put music on my sd card but that is a last resort. Any ideas, suggestions, experiences? Thanks!
Edit: I don't know if this is useful but I forgot to add I'm running stock rooted gb el29 until ics gets fully stable (I know it's pretty much there already but I'd rather not bother with bugs right now)

U can try adapter to stereo u currently have...bluetooth adapter works great for talkin on phone and listenin to music or usb if u want to read music and charge phone at same time..
But would an adapter allow you to select music through your stereo or would you still have to select music by way of your phone?

I hate the chokehold that Apple has on stereo integration yet no love for Android. I don't get it.
All the id3 tags work fine on your desk? Also does Google music work with it?

Not sure what you're asking me. Tags for over the bt adapter to the display on the head? No. They don't work on that for me. But the player works fine.

I have a sony deck, and the stock music player app works over bluetooth. MP3 track titles show up on the deck, I can pause, skip tracks forward and back, and fast forward/rewind using the controls on the deck. I have tried a couple of different music players and only the stock Touch Wiz player can be controlled from the deck. I can listen to other music player through bluetooth, but loose the deck control.
FYI I've used calk's GB and ICS roms, stock rooted, and Blazer GB with the sony deck.

Perfect that's more or less what I was wondering and it seems to be predominate that only the stock player works with id3 tags showing up on the deck.

I'm trying out a friends pioneer this weekend and I'm almost positive I'll get a pioneer deck or a Kenwood excelon. They seem to be catching up with android use finally according to reviews. I would say it's partly google's fault and partly stereo brands. I imagine it's hard to plan to integrate android when it is so fragmented.
Just out of curiosity, has anyone here tried using a tablet as a head unit? I'm curious how much audio quality you would have to sacrifice..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Check out mirror link head units... I believe Sony has a model coming to the states soon... supposedly they support full integration with your phone...
As far as the tablet goes, if you can run your audio through your usb your audio quality should be as good as the quality of the music files on your tablet and the quality of the sound system in the car...

Hi,
I've opened this thread so we can talk about the FM Radio developement for CM9.
I'm not developer, however I would like help this galaxy W comunity.
Any of you know some similar threads that can be useful for us?
I did a little search on XDA but can´t found any useful information :S
You can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631046
I don't know if this method will work for galaxy w. But be careful, some people get hardware problems etc. after using this app.
In play store search for spirit fm.

Spirit FM works for me
Hi again,
After searching more I found a way to put FM Radio working on our device
You can use "Spirit FM" apk.
Please see this thread .
After downloading the apk you need do the following steps:
1)Install the SpiritFM apk
2)goto Settings->Regional Band->Your country's band
3)goto Settings->Audio->Method-> "qdsp5v2 Altern". Custom ROMs use Audio->Method = "qdsp5v2 Altern". If must reboot for normal audio, enable Debug->Mute kill mediaserve
4)Enter your Station number and enjoy the music.
This works for me in Portugal
Big thanks for "mikereidis" that develop this apk.

From what I know, mikereidis developed the app by doing reverse engineering from scratch for the radio chip.
I bought the app when my galaxy s had the exact same problem where cm7 still didn't have fm radio support yet. And I am very satisfied. It worth the money IMHO

Hi,
I saw some bugs during the tests. If I'm using Spirit FM and receive a call, the apk stops and I start listen the incommig call. This is the expected result.
The problem happen when I stop the call. The Galaxy W I8150 crashed and did a reboot.

Hello. I bought a Go Groove flexsmart Bluetooth FM transmitter. It has controls to change next track pause etc while streaming via Bluetooth. When I first purchased it interacted with my S3 fully. I cannot remember if the controls stopped working after I flashed a ROM. (Devils reject v5). However if its based off of att stock ROM and using stock kernel shouldnt it still work? I can't skip tracks anymore and its kind of annoying regardless of what music player I use. Anyway any help or similar posts are welcome.

Headphones are the antenna. I don't see how it's possible without them.

FM Radio
I have an XPERIA S with the mod'd FM radio app that worked without the headphones plugged in, but it had to be in a VERY good reception area to pick up a station.
The other way, is just get a 3.5mm stereo plug with approx 60cm of cable (aerial) attached and you've got a cool antenna and then just play the radio through the speaker.
The menu has the "Play in Speaker" option already ... so you've already got all the best options.
Walks away and looks for Bluetooth headphones....
[Update]
Cool. With a metre of cable attached to a 3.5mm stereo plug I can listen to the radio on my Bluetooth headphones
I have the phone in the best reception location and via the magic of Bluetooth I can listen to the radio (and answer calls) approx 6 metres away.
Schumann ....classical music... all very civilized.

The mod is working in that case, you aren't hearing any sound because without the phones the signal of the station you're trying to hear is too weak...
