[Q] About CM 9 beta5 flickering option - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Hy ,
I randomly found an option in GalaxyICS settings to reduce flickering (I know it's gone in beta-5) but I just feel a lil' bit of flicker still and I don't seem to find that option anymore , can someone help me out 3 ?

Wait? Your galaxyics settings work?
Sent from my GT-S5660

No , not in the application , in System settings , srry for that I forgot to mention ^^

Well, they probably removed it because they thought flicker was completely gone.....
Sent from my GT-S5660

Nope , I used it in beta-5 , but I reflashed the room and can't find it anymore oO wierd

Playing with the CPU settings will help fix some of the flickering, and there is a setting about something like "Use Hardware acceleration for 2D Applications" and that will greatly help.

but i see that in beta-5 flickering is gone...or isn't?

my favorite rom is the rom I choose to use at any time, modifying it to my own preference and making it original and tweaked to my taste,so it doesn't matter which rom I use because I just Slymmod/winzip the crap out of them until my base is to my liking lol.

See the development section of this forum for the unofficial cm9 rc-0 rom.
The only thing that doesn't properly work is the camera, but maybe the fix isn't far away. And the last time i used bt it wouldn't connect to my pc, but that could be my own problem.

Instagram

Hi , Dear Dev's
Does anybody have a Idea to...let Instagram working on ICS ? Or does somebody know a ICS ROM ( Galaxy Gio ) where Instagram does work ? because on the ICS ROM of "Maclaw" , It doesn't
TO DEVS : Can you make PLEAS Instagram working on ICS
camera isn't fully functional and maclaw clearly said that instagram wont work with ics. and all ics roms for gio are based on the one made by maclaw, so no, instagram wont work on ics for gio
If you did some research, you would know its not possible without openmax drivers. Also, you started a thread about this just a week ago with some answers like:
lemmymet said:
Sigh, let me explain something
Instagram is stupid, i hate people who post everything they see on instagram&twitter
But now on-topic:
Apps can't communicate to camera, it's too much work to get that working.
You can't adjust the app, its closed source so forget that
You can adjust ics but that'll be a horrible task
I say: live with it

However, if you REALLY need to post pictures of what you're eating, use jotly ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...gle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=jotly+android), it can upload from gallery. Stop bothering the developers if you can't do anything about it yourself. They are well aware of the issue.
If you absolutely freaking have to, use gingerbread. Problem solved?

Not to be a jerk... but here I go; I find that 99% of the issues reported using MIUI are because of the MIUI ROM. It was GREAT about a year ago, but there are so many obvious issues that just are not being fixed, like the broken themes app, many of the settings panels, your issues that you mentioned, the all-to-common Chinese character in the English version, and the one thing that bothers me the most... the HORRID orange color theme in the default theme (which happens to have my favorite lockscreen, icons, fonts, and wallpapers).

You have a good point there but the theme app has been fixed just that the online themes are all for the old miui version and not v4 so most of the themes dont apply properly... and the chinese characters are extremly annoying so you have a good point they dont fix the issues fast enough...

Will let you know after it finishes downloading the 208MB file....at 5kbps so in around 12 hours
These MIUI links from Chinese servers are always so slow...
How is it? Is it laggy? I find all MIUI roms slow dunno why. They take up too much memory. Hope v5 is better. With all respect to MIUI devs I guess its the device itself having 512 memory.

Does it have english language? And, is it with some bugs?
Just not able to download it. It downloads at 5kbps and fails after around 5 hours anyway :/
Just use a download manager such as JDownloader and it will work guys (idk why, but Baidu is really slow w/o a download manager).
About the rom: downloading at 2mb/s here, but idk if I really want to try it out, thinking about because I'm fixing my gf Defy+ that got some problems after 3 months of use w/ MIUI 2.8.X
Miui V5 for Defy is still under closed beta, I dont know why you share it now.
There are still bugs, dont expect a stable experience this time.
miui not my type

Edit: ok, this "beta" rom, is working fine, just uninstall some **** like keyboard and others, and will work Fine, no more Crash or FC, just fine.
Thats all im gonne say atm, kkthxbye.
Is the lockscreen laggy like in V4? Can you answer the phone always or its buggy?

Suggest ROM for better battery life!

Hi Guys,
Please suggest a custom stable ROM for best battery life. I have Samsung Wonder which i think is not very old and has very good battery. I recently rooted it and installed CyanogenMod 10.1, this ROM is great and on full charge it gives around 12-13 hours of battery life with Wifi On.
I normally turn On wifi and email exchange application, so please let me know if we have more option to increase battery life.
Thanks all
I suggest you One of a Kind.

This device doesn´t support auto brightness. Neither in the stock ROM, nor in custom ROMs. There is simply no light sensor to support autobrightness. This device only offers a proximity sensor which also works in CM9 and this is telling me you have no clue what you are talking about.

So just because you faced some flickering while browsing you are claiming this ROM is not stable?
I assure you it´s way more stable than a stock ROM can be and this flickering means nothing. Probably the most unstable part is located in front of the LCD and pressed some buttons while browsing.
This is a screenshoot of my CM9 and it can last up to 7 days with one charge:
i am sorry honeyx that I posted my short experience of using this ROM
