I have question about the dropbox in the One series.
They offer 25GB storage space in dropbox for 2 years. What happens after 2 years?
How much does dropbox will charge you to keep the 25gb space? Any info about this?

For the actual prices you can check the Dropbox website.
The files will stay, but in order for you to use the Dropbox service you need to delete the files below 2GB, then you can use Dropbox free again!
it sucks but it is the truth

Why not check out my guide for getting 20+GB for free (without a time limit on)?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24393368&postcount=28
Dropbox have in the past said there's a time-limit on their promotions, and then changed their minds afterwards.
Fingers crossed they'll forget; in 2 years the cloud storage world will have changed significantly.
With all the competition going on in the cloud storage world, two years from now, the free version of Dropbox will probably be 25gb for everyone anyways. One X users are just the first to get the upgrade.

yes but box, frankly, sucks. No desktop syncing - it's all web based.
Dropbox is way more powerfull.
And to answer the question earlier, you will keep the files up to your old limit but cant add new files unless you delete files down to you "new" limit. two years is quite good, worth $100.
They double up on DropBox.
Now 500Mb for each referring

Try to upload all your photos and videos to dropbox, they will give you some extra gb for free
Having trouble finding where to get the 50GB on my account page. Anybody able to point me in the right direction.
edit: Nvm, just got the upgrade email. Thanks anyways.
i got the 50gb when i got my gs3 before. should i get another 50gb for the note?
dropbox gives you 50 gb just for buying the note 2...register within the app they will send an email telling you how to get the other 48gb..they give you 2gb off the bat. i just did it literally seconds ago

Two years isn't too short, but I know what you mean. And to whom it may concern: I just logged into my existing account, and then I got the email about 48 GB automatically.
I never got an e-mail from dropbox for my additional 48 gigs.... Anyone else having this issue?
**edit**
Please disregard. I unlinked and relinked my device and got the additional storage... SCORE!
I also got 50 gb from dropbox.....great

MediaFire happens to be one of the more well known cloud storage solutions available. And while they have a nice offer, 50GB of free cloud-based storage (and a 200MB file upload size), there has been one item that may have kept them from being fully adopted by Android users — the lack of an app. That being said though, the MediaFire Android app has recently come available.

Probably would have taken me a while to realize the release without your post :highfive:

Is there a legitamate reason to upgrade to the 1.50 per month plan? Is there a benefit? I'm only looking for to backup files and pics. And I'm confused as to what it means by limited for the timeframe that we can store our files on the free account. Anyone know what that means?
Like all the other free storage, its a year more than likely, then after that, you pay the fee or they cut you down to like 2g....most of them are this way. You can only get a couple gig for free with no limits

I have had the free mediafire account since 2009, I still have 50GB of available space and all the other benefits and limitations of the free plan.
I looked into this but truly I feel Adrive is a better deal. You get 50gb free with a 2gb file size upload limit or 1000 files at a time. I've had this service for 5 years almost and they have never decreased it, only increased the file limit. The only issue is the android app kind of sucks but it gets the job done. It's definitely something to look into.
FREE UNTIL 9/26/2013
From now through Sept. 26, you have the opportunity to score an extra 10GB of Google Drive space, no extra charge.
The requirement: Install the new Quickoffice app for Android or iOS--which, incidentally, is also now free. Then sign into your Google account via that app. Presto! You get another 10GB of gratis storage.
Google recently purchased Quickoffice, and the fruits of their labor have finally bloomed. The app is now being offered for free for both Android and iOS, so you can do your document creation and editing without paying a cent.
Best of all, if you download the app, you can get 10 extra gigabytes of Google Drive storage for free! Sign in with your Google account in the app by September 26 and you’ll receive that 10GB for two years. Don’t expect to see it immediately; Google says it’ll be added to your account in the next few weeks.

Enjoy....

Well, it is not free UNTIL 26.9.13, it is free without restriction, only that extra 10GB you can claim until 26.9.13. Also "recently" is very inaccurate, Google bought it more than 1 year ago.

Huh? You lost me buddy!
It's free to download in the play STORE!! FYI
And to your "recently" quote! They may have bought it a year ago. But it's now being announced that's it's available for free until the 26 of Sept. But the Sept 26 date is for the extra 10 gigs of space you GET.

No, I did not lost you, buddy. Let see:
"FREE UNTIL 9/26/2013" ... definitely not true, it will be free without restriction, that means also AFTER that date.
"Google recently purchased Quickoffice,..." ... also not true, at least I think "recently" should be maybe couple of months max, not more than a year in this case. In this case is June 2012.
from your last post "But it's now being announced that's it's available for free until the 26 of Sept." ... also not true, it will be free without restriction (as I already told).
You are only right about that until 26.9 you should get free space.
Also, I see what did you probably mean with "FREE UNTIL 9/26/2013" now, you were talking about that free space. But from the context of subject of this topic it was not clear.
But nevermind, Happy QuickOfficing for everybody.

Alternative i say only because I use DropBox, I love it.
BTW, on Copy I have only 22 gigs. You have that free space only from referrals?

Just tried and got 48GB
Ok. Thanks. Not sure why you got 48GB, but it's close enough to 50 that I won't complain either way.
I also got 48GB. Technically, when combined with the 2-some-oddGB that dropbox gave me from the start, it ends up being like 50.7GB total, so maybe that's why they say "Get 50GB of Dropbox free!" I mean, after all, 50GB is such a nicer number than 48.

Thanks again for supercharging your Samsung device with Dropbox!

I'm glad this promo is still active, as the 50GB from my ATT SGS3 "hack", was due to expire in the summer of 2014, but this'll extend it to the end of 2015, by which time 50GB should be the new minimum free amount of cloud storage anyway.
edit: fwiw, I also used the "virtual machine MAC address hack" (google it) to get another 20GB free, so I've got a total of 70GB for free (which is the max you can get afaik).

Same here, FWIW.
The 50GB that I got from my SGS3 is expiring June 2014, and the 50GB that I was supposed to get from my Note3 (during setup) was neither added to my current 70GB quota nor did it reset my expiration date.
Perhaps the way it works is that since the promos don't stack, then when one Samsung dropbox promo expires, the next one -- still hidden -- begins? In any case, it would be nice to have the confusion cleared up, so that I don't have to reupload after reactivating on my Note3 next summer.

That's why you pre-encrypt stuff you want to keep secret. I use encfs locally, and periodically sync it to various places like my VPS and DropBox, but others use TrueCrypt, gpg, etc.
As far as photos, I don't care if Agent P can see 'em, so I Dropsync 'em after I've deleted the crappy/blurry ones. (I'd sync with the official DropBox app, but it's dumb, in that won't delete the crappy/blurry ones you've deleted off your phone, so you'd have to do it twice).
My friend purchased a Note 3, but does not plan to use Dropbox. Is the Dropbox credit transferable? I would like to get it from him.
I read the FAQ at Dropbox (reference: https://www.dropbox.com/help/297/en) and it is stated, "The first Dropbox account that signs in to the app on the device will get 48 GB of free space." I'm thinking I can just sign in with my account on his phone, get the 48GB of storage immediately, then sign out. If he wants to create his own account, that should be fine. Is my assumption correct? Thanks.
Thanks!
Vic
When I first set up my phone, ti did the "log into dropbox for the extra space". I did it all but never got it. I did however have 50 gigs from when I bought my S3 a year and a half ago. Would that have stopped it from applying or would it have applied anyways?
