Restore Desire HD Orange UK using AHHK - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if I can restore to Stock orange using AAHK.I think the original Rom and radio are still there just need a step by step to see if i can do it.Think I will keep Rev HD Rom but would be nice to know in case of warranty issues.
Any help appreciated..

Currently the kit does not have a return to stock option for orange branded devices. If your device is unbranded then yes, but last I remember orange has theirs branded

There's an RUU somewhere, I used it for a warranty claim

The only uk orange branded RUU I was able to find is This one but I dont know if it applies.
Btw running a RUU keeps your phone S-Off and can still be a problem with warranty (usually S-On is required)

They didn't even know about boot loader when I took mine in. They just turned it on, saw touch wasn't working, said "it's bjiggered" (his words) and sent me a new phone

[Q] Need to flash back to stock Orange ROM for warranty repair.

Hi there, Got a desire which I rooted using goldcard method way back when I first got the phone (flashed it with stock HTC ROM to get rid of branding etc).
Now I have to send the phone back for a warranty repair and i'm not sure how to get back to stock rom. I tried using revoked3 to root it so I could install the orange ROM but had no luck (possibly due to the fact it was rooted via goldcard method as its carrier locked).
Would it be as easy as getting the orange ROM and just updating it normally? Or will I have to go through the whole tedious goldcard method again?
The big problem is that there isn't an Orange RUU available and, as far as I know, no-one has dumped it to install as an update zip.
If you did find it anywhere then you shouldn't need the gold card.

yeah I cannot find it anywhere!
At the moment, there isn't one.
Perhaps you should just flash the WWE RUU and hope orange dont ask questions
Unfortunately, you're in the same boat as all orange customers that have rooted....

And t mobile uk customers with slcd screens wwe ruu is the only way or my way which was to use an amoled ruu which blanked the screen so along with a new motherboard it also got a screen! Not that I did it intentionally mind! Sheer luck saved the day.

[Q] Restore my HTC Desire back to stock

Hello All
Sorry if this has been asked before I didn't see it anywhere.
I rooted then upgraded my HTC Desire to Oxygen 2.3 but to be honest not impressed I use my mobile for my business and I just need it to work ..and well it dosent.
So please can someone let me know how I re-install the original ROM and OTA updates enabled. Im with Vodafone in the UK and would be most grateful for some help.
Thanks
Paul
Did you "Nandroid backup" before flashing Oxygen?
If you want ro use stock with OTA updates, you have to flash the original ROM with the RUU. There are the shipped RUUs in the Desire Developement section.

Do you want to reboot this device?
Yes
No

Do I need to create a GoldCard?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743023&page=2
i don't know but I thought a gold card was only needed in the past not any more to root the phone in the first place ?
Yes, you need to have a goldcard.

Can I assume that this process will remove root access and/or S-Off?
Yes, both will be removed if you flash an RUU or PB99IMG.zip.

I use Windown 7 x64, and I still unroot without a problem occurs
Sorry to drag an old thread up!
I have had my desire with LeeDroid on it as far back as I can remember, but recently my phone just keeps restating when it gets slightly warm, browsing GPS ect trigger it. It's not the ROM as it's happened before in recovery too. Needs to go back to warranty........
So, I need to convert back to standard, I'm going to do this after the phone has been in the fridge for a while so it doesn't cut out during flashing!
Mines a Vodafone desire, but I never remember any branding on it, or on the box and no voda apps I can think of.
Currently on 32.56.00.32U _ 5.17.05.08
Should I go for a voda specific or an unbranded? If so, can some kind soul point me in the direction of said ROM?
If you did not have a branding, no need to install a branded ROM.
Usually you find all the ROMs at shipped-roms dot com slash index.php QuestionMark category=android And model=Bravo
Sorry but I can not post external Links yet as I'm a Noob in this Forum.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Actually, you need to download the latest RUU for YOUR Desire. Did you make a note of it before flashing a new ROM?
You can find everything in this thread

Hi
When I tried H3G uk its saying ur phone ready to use but screen not working when i tried WWE(world wide english), it stated the customer id prob, install correct RUU.
You need a gold card for a non-3 UK RUU - sounds ike you have an SLCD screen and flashed an AMOLED RUU, hence the black screen
Out of interest, if you run available 3uk ruu and check for updates, won't it update it for you? Mine was 3uk before root and custom ROM, so might need this info at some point. Thanks

Yes, but if you can't see what you're doing it'll be hard to do it
I see what you mean lol. In old Nokia days we used to change language to Chinese on the friend phones. After having it done to me a few time I could change it back with my eyes closed. LOL

Not been able to find the stock Orange ROM myself. I'm still struggling to get past the rooting stage to get rid of my Orange ROM. I've followed the video tutorial but keep getting stuck at the CID error. How do you manage to get rid of the Orange bloatware on your device?

Which CID

Hallo
I need to send my Desire HD to HTC so they can repair it. Ive installed the stock rom and removed everything like root or s-off. Now i dont know which cid i have to set. I dont know if there was a branding from o2, vodafone or if it was a normal phone without a branding. Can somebody tell me how to find out which cid i need to set?
greets
Doesn't matter as long as it's a stock rom.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
So that mean that its not important which cid it has? Wont HTC notic that ive changed the cid and refuse to repair the phone? I dont even know if i had ever changed the cid
No. They won't care. As long as it's their software.

Thank you sir for the fast answear
