ALso, need to know can i flash these ROMs on any phone HBOOT version?

As long as your phone is GSM and not cdma you can flash no problem.
If your phones version is newer than what your flashing you will need a goldcard.

It really wont matter.
If hboot is newer on the ruu then it will update, but if its older I think it will bypass keeping your current one.
Just flash the ruu, it will be fine.
Also the ruu will check your phone before installation for compatibility.

SO, you mean to say that if the phone region is not compatible with ruu flashing will abort with no damage caused to phone?

Yes.
Does your phone use a sim?
I'm sure it does, and if so you'll be fine as long as you don't flash any of the us ruu
If you use a similar you'll be good.

I know this forum is for wildfire s but just wanted to know if this hboot rule is applicable to chacha and desire s also?

I would think so, but I can't say I'm 100%.
Like I said the ruu will check your phone model and software, if there were a problem the installer should let you know and not go any further

So u mean to say that if HBOOT version of file is lower than HBOOT version of phone then installler will abort without any damage to phone?

It would bypass hboot if the version on your phone is newer but it should still install the rom.
The same probably applies to the radio, if you have a newer radio hboot will skip installing radio step, and proceed to the next step.
Most important thing when flashing ruu, is have enough battery and don't remove cable while flashing eg. Make sure nobody trips on your cable or you'll.have a brick on your hands

Thanks, appreciate your help

You can either use an RUU (get the one that matches your installed radio) which will wipe everything or you can install a pre-rooted ROM if you have a custom recovery. Enjoy!
thank u , but i don’t know where can i see my radio? compatible with this RUU?

The RUU replaces the radio so what you're currently on is irrelevant

HBOOT problem

Hello, just need to know when i flash a shipped rom to wildfire s should i make sure the HBOOT version of the ruu is same or higher than the HBOOT version of the phone?
Thanks
Good question. I think it doesn't matter. HTC's official ROM, HBOOT, Radio or whatever updates are designed to work no matter if the device is S-Off or not. As far as I know, it shouldn't matter.
No. The radio takes care about the hboot versions. If you install maybe an old shipped rom with an older hboot which is not supported anymore, the device will bypass hboot installation

Well i plan on flashing my phone with RUU_Marvel_HTC_Asia_WWE_1.35.707.3_Radio_47.10 .35.3029H_7.46.35.08_release_188906_signed.exe
Is this rom ok ie. will not have any HBOOT problems? Also, i bought my phone from the UAE, how do i know if the phone is compatible with the ruu im flashing with?
if you install a complete ruu the hboot is mostly updated along with the rom. so donÄt worry about it.

Hboot version

I got my One X when they first came out, rooted it straight away and have been very happy. I'm running a JB AOKP ROM.
I've noticed a lot of talk about hboot versions, 1.23/1.28. My hboot is still 0.43. Am I missing anything? Does updating the hboot actually matter?
Thanks for any information

I have almost the same question : I would like to install the "Android Revolution HD 11.1" ROM and spent few days parsing the various post in the corresponding section of the forum.
The installation procedure states that to go to JB we need to have HBOOT v1.23. In addition it is indicated that :
{Do the following only if you have hboot version 0.43.
Download this ROM. You need to flash this RUU after you relock but before you flash firmware. Your hboot version will say 1.12}

Now my question :
My HOX indicates HBOOT v1.12 without any upgrade, do I need to upgrade it or not ?
Thanks in advance for your help

If you have 1.12, there is no need to upgrade to 1.12 before upgrading to 1.28.
To upgrade to 1.28, keep following the instructions.

Also, make sure you really do want to upgrade to 1.28 because without S-OFF you can't go back to an hboot with a lower version number.

I have been able to define my HBOOT version and my CID but this info...
Is there any thread summarizing hot to get all details about the HOX ?
Thanks again.
At the top of the bootloader it says either S-OFF or S-ON
why ?

Sounds like the phone is rooted or the system has otherwise been modified. If so, you need to ruu, or restore an unmodified system image backup (I doubt you have one or you wouldn't be asking for help) to return to stock before ota will work.

Rename the file to 0PJAIMG.zip, copy it to the root directory of a SD card which is not bigger than 32 gb and formated to fat32, put the card into your phone and boot to Download Mode. The rest will explained on the screen of your phone.

Not as far as I know.
The firmwares are the same. Just wait for marshmallow. The last digit is how many attempts to push to device so at best it only has a stagefright patch so its not really worth the hassle.

You are aware of the fact that version 2.10.709.6 already exists and that the M9 installs OTAs incrementally, aren't you? That makes one update from 1.40.709.4 to 1.40.709.8, one from 1.40.709.8 to 2.10.709.1 and a third one from 2.10.709.1 to 2.10.709.6 which are currently not installed on that phone. So I would say it is worth the hassle to update that device. (Besides I would say it's not a real hassle at all. Restoring a TWRP backup or flashing a RUU aren't too difficult tasks. )

Vzw radio img download?

I've got my phone unlocked, rooted and S-off now I just need the vzw radio but dottat took down his links. Does anyone have it still on their pc and mind sending it to me?

Look up what firmware is, it should be easy to find answer.
RUU is firmware + ROM.
ROM Upgrade Utility
If you are on custom ROM, this saves a step. Also when new OTA hits you can flash firmware and stay on your ROM of choice.
