I'd like to toggle data off completely AND/OR toggle CDMA/LTE..
Beautiful widgets 4g toggle is broken and just says airplane mode.
Aren't there aren't there any 1x1 data/cdma/lte toggle widgets?
if you are rooted, there are mods and roms which have this feature
however, if you are unrooted, the best you can get is a widget which acts as a shortcut and takes you to the settings page to turn off lte manually
you can just search for 4g toggles in the Play store in that case

I've found that 'LTE Switch' from the app store works. It's not a real widget or app - it just takes you to the settings page, but it works.
AOKP has an option to add an LTE toggle to the drop down menu, I would guess other ROMS do too. Very awesome feature, even though I don't use it very much.

Is there a widget for the Defy that actually switches between 2G and 3G (to preserve power when its just laying on the table waiting for email) as opposed to bringing me to the network settings menu which seems to be the case for all I've used? Even better would be to get Widgetsoid to do so...
I use Extended Controls from the market which has this widget function.
Edit: widget just brings up network menu as you described. Sorry.

To my knowledge, this is not supported by Android, this, no widget can do it up to now.

+1 it's not supported by android
Then how come system settings can do it?
Didn't find a 2G/3G widget yet, but if you point an "activity" for Any Cut to "GSM/UMTS Options." I've renamed the shortcut to 2G/3G on my phone.
This launches the part of the network settings in which you can toggle 2G-only on and off.
It's not a direct toggle, but it takes only two taps to switch 3G off which is faster than navigating to settings>wireless&netwoks>mobile_networks>select_network. And with the Any Cut method you don't have to remember where to look in the settings menu, which is laid out in a very unlogical way.*
*) Really, why are Location&Security combined? Wouldn't Security&Privacy make more sense?
How do you make a shortcut to the WiFi settings on the desktop? In the other Android, we were able to make shortcuts to any setting, was that removed in ICS?

Oh, so that's how it's done now. THANKS!
Hmmm, I noticed that there are no "direct" shortcuts available anymore, is this true?
Kinda sucks cuz I use Simi Clock and wanted the battery launcher to open up the Battery Setting screen.
I use widgetsoid to add toggles to the notification bar, which will also launch wifi settings directly when pressed. (or any other setting you want) it has a widget too.

tons of 3rd party apps that also do this and a better job also
I want to use the option to hide my notification bar at the top which will hide my mobile/bluetooth/wifi status.
I was hoping to find a way to add them back to the home screen in the form of a customizable widget.
I tried using UCCW widgets but they don't offer anything other than dates/time/weather etc.
thanks in advance

Check out Dashclock and the dashnet extension on Playstore. The Dashnet extension doesn't show Bluetooth status but there may be anouther extension that does.
As the title says, I want to use Tasker to hide my status bar, and temporarily reveal it when my finger is over the proximity sensor. The sensor part of it works fine but I can't find a method of toggling the status bar that Tasker can use.
I've tried:
-The native status bar option in Tasker which doesn't seem to work on this device
-SystemUI actions: I can use the SecureSettings Tasker plugin to run activities. Which means I can toggle the navigation bar fine but the status bar does not seem to be an option
-Hiding the status bar in Apex launcher only: I can add a shortcut to it on my homescreen but Tasker doesn't seem to be able to call Apex actions. I'd prefer not to use this method as it would only work on the launcher
Essentially what I'm looking for is an app that toggles the status bar and has an activity that I can access through Tasker, that lets me toggle it.
Galaxy Nexus GSM
Xylon 2.1.1 (AOSP 4.2.2)

Thanks in advance for any help!
I know this is probably not what you want, but with Nova Launcher you can hide the status bar and assign a simple gesture to toggle it.
I've now got it working with the Apex actions using a different plugin but as I said it only works on the homescreen. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply... You're right in that it's not what I'm aiming for, I can do the same on Apex but it's less fluid than using the sensor. I also want a system-wide kind of thing that will work everywhere rather than just the homescreen.
If you have the "expanded desktop" option in your rom, you can use an app called "Locale", with a plugin called "Secure Settings", to trigger the expanded desktop by turning the phone facedown. That may not be quite what you're after, so another thing you can try is an app called GMD GestureControl. I'm pretty sure that has a fullscreen option in it.

Secure Settings:

GMD:

I've tried GMD, but it's too laggy. Secure Settings works on Tasker as well as Locale but the expanded desktop feature isn't there.
Hello!
Is there any way to add custom toggles in notification bar without installing additional toggle app. I want to add it in preinstalled toggle bar.
For example, I would like to have 2G / 3G toggle (without entering in settings every time)

There are 15 pre-determined toggles you can choose from as for now. Cant add more than that. You can send your feedback so that they provide more option in upcoming upgrade.

No. You have to use 3rd party app I'm afraid. Any reason you don't want to use one...? I use "power toggles" which allows you to have extra toggles in the pull-down notification area (including the 2G / 3G switch). I've managed to customise it so it looks just the same as the original so it looks like part of the standard o/s.

Yes, but Power toggles 2G/3G only point me to settings where I must do it manually...
