4 - Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II THD
In a follow up to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, available on the Market now, the sequel is bringing a new set of effects and updated graphics to the classic console games. NVIDIA says the new game will run on Tegra 3 devices cranking out up to 720p HD resolution.
Additionally, the game will bring back Tails, fulfilling his usual sidekick role alongside his big blue buddy. True to the original Genesis version of the game, you can even play a co-op mode with a friend controlling Tails. Episode I was already a fun game, so we're looking forward to seeing this new version and arguing with our friends who gets to be Sonic and who has to be the immortal sidekick.

5 - Eden to GREEEEN THD
Built on the Unreal Engine, Eden to GREEEEN pits you "against alien machines from another planet" (so we can conclude "alien" doesn't mean "immigrant" here) who are trying to steal Eden's natural resources. It's up to you to save Euphoria, the natural energy of Eden. This totally original story comes with the descriptor "freemium", so we can probably count on some sort of in-app purchases, but NVIDIA promises Eden to GREEEEN won't "skimp on the gaming experience." Fingers crossed.

The last of the new games NVIDIA is announcing for their Tegra 3 devices, Hamilton's Great Adventure is a strategy/puzzle game that actually seems mildly reminiscent of some of the newer 3D Super Mario games. NVIDIA even claims that the "fully dynamic levels" will "rival what you'd experience on the PC version of the game." The game has been adapted from Bitsquid's DirectX 11 engine.

Hope you like the new look
Following up on the success of Shadowgun, the folks from Madfinger Games have now taken the covers off the latest addition to their game catalog aptly named Dead Trigger. The zombie inspired first person shooter will bring console like quality gaming thanks to its optimization for NVIDIA Tegra 3 devices. So what's it all about? Glad you asked:
The world has collapsed due to a strange infection that turns regular people into zombies, and it’s up to you and your arsenal of weapons to take down the undead masses.
In other words, you shoot the hell out of those friggin' zombies and have a whole hell of a lot of fun doing it! Dead Trigger will be available near the end of June on the Google Play Store and the NVIDIA TegraZone [/I]

Reckless Racing 2 - Higher Resolution textures for Tegra 3 devices
Just found something super cool for my favorite game on android
The game didn't really get updated for Tegra 3, so it only downloads the Tegra2 files, which has no advanced shader effects and low resolution textures
PowerVR SD files - worst graphics, they don't work with Tegra devices - 58MB
Tegra 2 SD files - medium graphcis, same as MALI devices (SGS2/SGS3) but with low res textures, these are downloaded by default on Tegra3 devices - 87MB
Adreno SD files - depending on the device the game will run in full effects just like the iOS version, with advanced shader effects, sadly they are not comaptible with Tegra devices - 111MB
Mali SD files - Full resolution graphics without the advanced shader effects, fully compatible with Tegra - 208MB
So right now the files on your SD are 87MB, you need to switch them with the MALI files
Download Reckless Racing 2, Mali400 SD files from one of following links:
http://turbobit.net/okdqqx4fmbg5.html
http://narod.ru/disk/39642111001/com.polarbit.RecklessRacing2.rar.html
once download copy the data.vfs to SD/data/data/com.polarbit.RecklessRacing2/files

Bad banding in all 3D Games? I dont have any bad banding in Riptide GP or Shadowgun (both Tegra 3 enabled) nor in games like Anomaly, Cut the Rope HD or Osmos HD.
By the way, in the chinese leak 1.28 even the ICS gradient background (like in installing apps) is ALOT smoother displayed than in 1.26. ^^

ok i just tried shadowgun THD floored!
really shadowgun shows the best use of T3 ragdoll, particles and water response adds so much to the game!!!
so i guess its official games really need to be optimized for this thing
ok i tried Reckless 2 against the Sensation XL with Adreno205 lol its a joke on the One X very lowe res textures and no reflections on the car
while on Sensation it looks like its Tegra4 lol

Hello,
Everybody knows the game infinity blade by iOS right?
The game is desiged by EPIC GAMES, the makers of Gears of War 1/2/3.
So you can expect a great game again on the apple product.
With that kind of games you can expect a real high-end-performance phone/tablet.
So i have here a HTC ONE X, i love this phone. But i want to test it for real.
So my question is, what are games like infinity blade on Android, with that kind of graphics and cpu usage.
Thanks in advance
shadowgun thd
mini motor racing
gta 3
siege thd
some good ones
dark meadow is the best graphically atm, and its free! (well, freemium)

means tegra optimised, meaning they are optimised to work on our wonderful tegra 3 chipsets meaning we get better features, and higher visual fidelity
thanks for the information .
I will take a look for the games.
Uhm if there are more games, just say.
and uhm infinity blade, there are possible way they convert the game to android ???
Search tegrazone on play store

errrrm look up
riptide gp THD
dead space
mincraft
oh and not to forget, look up 'onlive' its a service that lets you stream full PC games to our handset over the internetz, have to pay for em still, but games like l.a noire work fine with the touchscreen
and aha, if only it were so simple to just 'convert' infinity blades not all that good gameplay wise anyway, just looks pretty, but dark meadow uses the same unreal 3 engine, and epic say its better on tegra 3 than any other platform, check it out
Thank you for your information. Only I cant find dark meadow on store and elsewere

I'm not so sure about that, the Vita's hardware should be perfectly capable of emulating the PS2, especially when it's the original PS2 engineers writing the emulator! Hell, remember Bleem was capable of emulating the original PS1 on the dreamcast! The Vita is leagues beyond the dreamcasts capabilities.
As to the PlayStation Suite/Mobile SDK itself, if anyone is interested, I have created a series of tutorials that cover most parts of creating a basic game. If you know a bit of C#, check them out, it really is a nice programming environment.
ps2 emulation is difficult..bc the ps2s hardware is very unique and the synchronization of the cpu..the two vector units..the graphics synthesizer and the dma controller is hard to emulate.. bc they all depend on each other..
this is all pointless unless they give us a controller accessory IMO
I'm really at a loss why apple or goog hasn't released an official joypad grip, bluetooth + maybe chuck a battery in there, then official joypad APIs to hook into. At one stroke eviscerate the handheld market.
Yes there are 3rd party ones but they all only work with a handful of games. If Goog or apple did it officially then adoption would be much wider.
My Sony Tablet S for example pairs beautifully with a ps3 controller but I have a hard time finding anything that actually supports it (aside from, er, emulators ROFL 12 bucks for a PS1 game, FU sony lol)
Good news everybody!

To this day I regret selling it
Regarding the certification....I guess it's good news.
I can already play PS1 games...PS Vita games would be intresting! Since the Vita uses Tegra 3 it should be possible. I couldn't care less about PS2 games if the Vita games would work
I would say definitely no ps vita games...since ps vita using stronger gpu which is powervr 543 and the processor inside vita is not tegra,it is ti omap

vita is not using the t3
it has a uniquly built Quad A9/Quad PowerVR 543 GPU, the same GPU on the iPad3 but at a fraction of the pixel count
ie the vita is a monster that will not be matched anytime soon but i have to say the X does get close, especially considering it runs at a higher resolution

The ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore is a 32-bit multicore processor providing up to 4 cache-coherent Cortex-A9 cores, each implementing the ARM v7 instruction set architecture.
The Tegra 3 is part of this Family, so it basicly uses the same core structure...same with iPad 3, which is called the A5X...not talking GPU here, I'm talking CPU...

you are not talking GPU? which is half the story when it comes to gaming? the topic in discussion? equally the memory controller and cache is a big part of the story which is different between all the device we are speaking of
and so
The "QUAD" GPU on the Vita, enhanced MP4+, contains 4 SIMDs per core so it's 16 SIMDs and it'ss feeding a 960 × 544 qHD panel
on the iPad3 its same GPU feeding a massive 2048×1536 HD panel
on Tegra3 the Geforce GPU is a single core 12 SIMDs chip and it's feeding a 1280x720p HD panel
That's enough to give you an idea which machine has much more GPU headroom
Finally a gaming console like the Vita doesn't carry the burden of a multi-tasking OS and instead most games are running at a lower level
lets not forget the MP4+ in the vita's GPU
It is included in the PlayStation Vita portable gaming device with the MP4+ Model of the PowerVR SGX543, the only intended difference, aside from the + indicating features customized for Sony

First thing you got right. I'm not talking GPU
cant wait!
PlayStation Vita eschews Sony's previous policy of custom hardware and uses off-the-shelf mobile technology combined into a single processor: quad core ARM Cortex A9s (only three of which are available to games developers) are paired with a slightly enhanced version of the same PowerVR SGX543 4MP found in the new iPad.
Vita possesses several advantages over the iOS and Android platforms, however. Firstly, it services a much lower resolution: 960x544 vs the iPad 2's 1024x768 and its successor's 2048x1536. Secondly, 128MB of dedicated video RAM is attached, presumably with faster access and more bandwidth than the A5 and A5X chips in the iOS machines. Finally, and perhaps most crucially, Vita developers have complete access to the hardware at a much lower level thanks to an implementation of the same libgcm interface found in PlayStation 3, along with tools created by a team with years of experience in working exclusively on games development.
In essence, Vita offers us a glimpse into a world of mobile games development where creators have access to much more raw power concentrated into a smaller area of pixels, and the results are fascinating. Take Uncharted: Golden Abyss for example. It features state-of-the-art lighting technology - a variation of the deferred shading technique used in the PlayStation 3 Drake games, while motion capture is effectively on a par with current generation consoles. There are clearly some cutbacks in terms of polygon count and texture quality, and the lack of performance sapping transparency effects is telling, but on a mobile screen there's still very much the sensation that this is a full-fat console experience.

id software's John Carmack has previously speculated that the direct interface with the hardware gives Vita a generational edge over other mobile devices using the same technology, but perhaps didn't consider that iPad's resolution would be increasing so dramatically. The contest here isn't just Vita native 960x544 vs. Retina 2048x1536 - several of Sony's titles actually run at 720x405, the technologically superb Uncharted: Golden Abyss amongst them. On a 5-inch screen, gamers are less likely to notice sub-native resolutions compared to the same trick being pulled on a 9.7-inch display.

Enter PowerVR "Rogue", the next generation of mobile GPU from British firm IMG. Insiders in the smartphone business tell me that it's the point at which graphics processing power in Xbox 360 is finally exceeded. Combined in SoCs with the new ARM Cortex-A15 and potentially we have a viable platform not just for more visually rich titles, but a new target for direct ports of existing 360/PS3 games. There are still issues in terms of bandwidth, memory speed etc, but I would expect mobile devices to have a great chance of at least matching Vita graphical performance within the next 12 months.

Dear fellow S4 Mini guys,
I have bought this wonderful device a week ago, and since then it gave me nothing but usability comfort and modern smartphone awesomeness (I think its part High-end and part Middle-end (namely PPI and GPU are of the middle-end. You are welcome to discuss this though).
Being a mobile gaming junkie, the first I did is fire up a latest PPSSPP and playing some PSP titles, and I am still amazed at how the ARM cores have matured over time, Qualcomm Krait 300 (and 400 that started to appear just right now) and ARM Cortex A15 currently being state-of-the-art.
However, my grudge is against the GPU, which is less important to platform emulation than it is to native Android games. While it is enough for any game I actually play on S4 Mini, it is showing its middle-end teeth on the games like Iron Man or even Vice City. And I started to wonder what this Adreno 305 GPU is actually about. I've been for quite some time apart from recent 3D Android titles, and have seldom spare time for checking anything that is downloadable to figure out for myself.
So I wanted to know what games are the most GPU-intensive and demanding so I could test them and get a grip on the general GPU performance of S4 Mini. Not that it would change anything, but once the curiosity starts to spread... From Youtube videos I know that N.O.V.A. 3 runs quite good.
Thank you in advance, and you are most welcome to discuss the general performance of our device and your notes on performance of specific games.

Thanks, I'll check out some of these games tonight.
However, from my experience with 2011 Xperia Play I can state the following:
Dead Space, Shadowgun, Mass Effect and Need for Speed Most Wanted will run flawlessly on anything even remotely more powerful than Adreno 205, which is considerably behind Adreno 305.
Btw, I forgot to add that Carmageddon, GPU-accelerated mode of FPSE and N64oid run flawlessly as well. But I believe they are not GPU-demanding enough to push the limits of S4 Mini.
Take a look at a game called "The Room". Quite fun as a puzzle game and looks quite nice.
Seem to hit some snags here and there. You determine if it's poor optimisation or if it's just GPU-intensive.
Another game that looks quite good from the screenshots (don't really play fast-paced games on my phone) is a game called Galaxy on Fire 2 HD (it's free).

Yes it is indeed weird. I've emailed the developers and their reply:
Thank you very much for the report, that Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is not available for your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini LTE, we'll forward it to our development team in order to let them check this issue and whether the game should be compatible with this device.

That is in "your case" through the playstore yes. If you get the APK from other sources, you can install it. Basically most games that say "Not Compatable" are compatable anyways.. it's just the playstore that thinks your device is not supported.
Beware that if you have editted your build.prop and your DPI, playstore can also have compatability issues because its 240dpi for this device.
Also I'm not listing games if they do not work, obviously!
NOVA3 just works fine.
note: My list has been updated!

Try out Ravensword. Runs on the unity engine but graphics are pretty good! It's been described as skyrim for Android, minus the largeness.
P.S. it should still be available as part of the humble bundle. humblebundle.com

I have Xperia M (Can't afford more than that) , it also have Adreno 305 , i can run games like Dead Trigger , Shadow Gun , Real Racing 3 ,Asphalt 7 and 8 and the game runs pretty smooth , too bad i can't play games like MC4 and NOVA 3 cuz of its internal size . Nevertheless , its a good GPU :good:
