Hi,
Can you guys tell me which one have to flash first and so on.
Kernel, Modem, and Rom.
thank you
anything can go first.
Usually Kernel is included in Rom. But if you are talking about separate recovery kernel, then it should be installed after the rom. because if it's installed before the rom, rom will replace your preinstalled recovery kernel.
Modem can be installed before or after the ROM.
thank you so much

I flashed the rom, radio and wimax. I also pulled down a kernel. At what point do you flash the kernel? Or do I have to? A how to would be great.
Thanks!!!
A Kernel is included with the ROM, so you don't "need" to flash it. However if you want to flash a custom Kernel, you just flash the .zip file from recovery and reboot.
Hi i am pretty new to his i have upgraded to CM7 and everything works fine but i noticed posts about changing the kernal, I am now looking to change to a new rom, the RCMIX do i have to change a kernal or shall i just full wipe and install rcmix zip from the recovery

Just a full wipe, and flash RCMIX from recovery that will install it's own kernel.
i believe you come from Samsung or any other device where you need to flash kernel first and then flashing rom.
HTC is different, the rom itself contain the kernel. Just flash the rom, it contains the kernel.
Try out the ROM first, and then if you want to further optimize your overclocking, you can try other kernels. (usually the built in rom will work just fine)
Personally I recommend Jkoljo's utility to do that
If you do find a kernel you like and you flash another ROM you will have to re-flash the kernel again.
This is because, as previously stated, ROMs will install their own Kernel.

This may be a stupid question, but it's one I've never seen a definative answer for. When installing a new ROM and Kernel, which should be installed first, or does it not matter, and should you reboot recovery between installations, or just install one over the other?
If the ROM includes the kernel I personally install the ROM w/ kernel then reboot. After it reboots I then go back and install the alternate kernel. Might not be necessary but has always worked for me. Hope this helps.
I also just flash the rom then flash the kernel. No rebooting. I've never had a problem.
You will be fine to do rom then kernel no need for reboot

Thanks guys.
Hi, sory for newb posts. But this all got a bit more complicated since my HTC days!
I managed to get cmod7 working (remove apk to stop looping on boot!).
But what can I flash now with the CM kernel I have?
Or how/what kernel to flash and what ROM for best/stable device?
I see and have the Mooded rom, but do i need to flash kernel first? And baseband etc.?
All gone strange since i last flashed devices!!
Thanks !
there should be a list of suitable kernels in any rom thread. download the ROM zip to your SD card, use fastboot to boot the kernel, enter cwm and wipe data(if necessary), and flash the zip and any modules if required.

Hi guys! Since I am a noob I haven't flashed a custom ROM before I wanna ask you do I need to change my kernel in order to put the amazing Hashcode's JB ROM. I already have a root privileges and TWRP installed. What are the steps then... There is hardly any info about the installation process in the ROM's topic. And how to install google apps - through the TWRP or? Thanks in advance. Waiting for your answers...
ROMS always have the kernel included. Everything is installed from recovery. Just wipe partitions, flash ROM, flash gapps, reboot.
Thanks man, I really appreciate. Will try!
What saved said....the kernel is included In all ROMS.
