[Question] USB on-the-go on Desire?

Has anybody succeeded or even tested whether the Desire can act as a USB-host (a.k.a. USB On-The-Go)?
(ability to attach mass-storage devices to the microUSB port)
I ask this here after a moderate amount of Googling, but only found results for somebody who succeeded in doing it on the Droid
There's a video of some one enabling it on a Nexus One, using a USB Pen a keyboard and I think even a VGA adapter if I remember correctly. It was on engadget if you want to track that down.
I have no doubt it will at some point be done. I remeber deciding on the Desire back in March and USB-OTG being one of the factors. Maybe I was just high and drunk, but I'm sure I was under the impression the hardware did OTG and had been demonstrated.
Can we use the CA-157 cable from Nokia ? and load a USB host kernel module to achieve usb OTG?
is it possible to create a USB host kernel module? i think we have the required host hardware in Desire and Desire Z,HD...

[Q] Micro USB to USB Converter, mouse and keyboard simultaneously

Is it possible using this kind of converter to connect simultaneously a mouse and a keyboard together to the phone ? (for example using a wireless set mouse/keyboard or a usb splitter).
Can the phone provide the power to work on both devices ?
Maybe if it was possible to charge the phone somehow using the same cable ?

I want to connect the phone to a tv using hdmi cable (adaptor) and control the phone from distance using a wireless keyboard/mouse.
thanks
I would be interested in this too. I saw EVO 4G used as a desktop computer - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038840 but he used bluetooth mouse and keyboard and the only thing connected to its micro usb port was hdmi cable. I would rather use some kind of usb hub in order to connect these 3 devices to the micro usb port in the phone and even charge it all at once. If anyone knows if it is possible please share your knowledge
BT
Yes, you are right about Bluetooth. I believe it's the best solution (but more expensive) because when connecting the hdmi adaptor no other ports remain for other usb devices. Also hmdi adaptor charges the phone (for example BizLink MHL to HDMI TV-Out Adapter)
thanks
You might be able to run both USB mouse & keyboard; try using a keyboard that has a USB port or two on it, then plug the mouse into the keyboard's USB. Power may be a problem; the SGS2's USB connector isn't going to provide anywhere near the 500 mA in the USB 2.0 spec.
Of course, if you're using the USB, you can't use the MHL/HDMI, and vice versa -- the connector modes are mutually exclusive. If you have to have HDMI output, you should be able to use a BT keyboard and/or mouse.

HDMI to Micro USB adapter OEM MHL 2.0

Has anyone tried this or this ?
I highly doubt it'll work, seeing as how official ones from Samsung doesn't. The kernel lacks support for it.
there is a kernel that could run the otg with external power but not hdmi

USB OTG - DAC and hard drive at same time?

Anyone know if the USB OTG is capable of charging the Tab, connecting a hard drive AND connecting an Audio DAC at the same time?
No
Okay thanks. I know you can charge and have DAC at the same time.
I guess I'll have to look into really big MicroSD cards to hold my MP3's.
maybe....

I can't find my DAC to test right now, but I bought these items and they are working to provide my Tablet with a charge and USB OTG at the same time.
It's not a FAST charge. I've seen up to 687 mAh with testing over the last ten minutes.
But the mouse and USB stick I've plugged in all seem to work fine.
Tab S 8.4" T705 to Lava hub to Plugable hub. This should give me at least nine powered/usable USB ports while still providing a slow charge to the tablet.

NOVA 3 USB-C hub to All

I have bought an Ugreen all in one USB type-c adapter. Seems like this device doesn't support USB C to HDMI, VGA or Ethernet. Well the USB 3.0 ports are working only. Is there any way to be able to use those ports on these device. P.S I don't know whether USB Type-c 2.0 supports HDMI, VGA or Ethernet.
