Hey hello i need all sprint bloatware in order for me to upgrade my epic 4g for a friend an the phone cant connect to the computer it cant find it im using drop box an it works but now its asking for all the other bloat wares that been deleted on the phone to be on there to upgrade to froyo. I found asphalt 5 an it went through fine you have to place it in the system/ apps push the app in there if you guys going through what im going through u have to push the app in the sd card go to system/ app an paste it in there when i did that an rebooted to the samsung system recovery screen i don't have clock work its all stock. Now my phone didnt ask for asphalt 5 no more now it want sprintzone apk lol all the bloatwares help me out thanks

im going to reroot it with the z4root app that not the issue i want to put a cook up rom on here but my phone cant connect to my pc so i been using dropbox i only can get stock rom for now until i can get my phone to connect to my pc it cant never find it i even bought 3 different usb an i install the samsung drivers an they dont want to install on my computer

Haha hell no man. I've already spent the 2 bucks at radio shack for my jig. Only had to use it once. I mostly just trawl the themes and apps for other sgs's but I love watching people loose their minds when an ota hits like the op here. Lots of craziness in general for yall right now.
You should see the n1 now. 2.3 dropping for those guys and they have one thread about it, over 150 posts, and only two people on stock to pick it up. That's how it should be.

Well just fyi its here in the first post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1143125 as it has been since October last year, alright to get the latest nightly 7.2 updates you do really need to follow the nightly thread, which can be frustrating looking for the latest update but its usually in the last few pages so again not really hard to find
And also I know exactly what is happening around the wildfire section of xda my friend, so that is a trait I am equipped with but you obviously aren't because then you'd know that!

i agree with scratch this thread is pointless. your making it sound like you need to hike up a mountain to get it. its in the downloads section of the cyanogenmod wildfire section ffs. really not that hard.
If you are looking to help people out, just post it (IF it is any different from the MANY guides / tutorials out there)rather than waiting for "thanks and subscriptions"
Oh, and if the newbies here on XDA, actually read your post here in the Q and A Section, there is a very high probability they already know of the Dev Section and the existence of CM7 2.3.7

You're deluded my friend, for starters the only people that have replied to your pointless thread myself nejc and 3xeno happen to be 3 of the most active/helpful people on this forum, we have all constantly risked our own devices trying out new mods and have all contributed to this forum in many ways and we have also never asked for thanks from anybody, all the thanks we have, have been earned. If you're such a smarty pants you'd earn a lot more respect round here by telling us something we don't know publicly instead of hiding it behind pm's but I guess you haven't been around long enough to know that.

THEY HAVEN'T RELEASED ICS OR CM FOR THE T989 OMG!!!
Seriously...you don't even have to search...there are about 4 or 5 ICS posts on the front page...quit wasting our time and just be patient. The forum will blow up with about 100 posts when there actually is news about ICS....

When you read some **** that says the GS2 has/is getting/drivers/etc for ICS, here is a simple step-by-step to determine weather you should post a thread to XDA:
1. Its probably for the international (i9100). We don't give a **** about the internatonal. Just stop reading and go about your business if you even see the word "international". Don't even look at the words if you see a button on the front of the phone on the picture. We don't have a button.
2. our AT&T counterpart is the SKYROCKET (t727). it looks EXACTLY like ours. not the AT&T SGS2 (t777). See 1 on how to deal with news about the AT&T SGS2.
3. If you still think the article has to do with our phone, look for T989. Push ctrl+f (or command+f) and type in t989. If it's not there, don't waste our time.
4. If you find T989 after pushing ctrl+f...read it in context. Most likely its an ad or just confirms you are an idiot for thinking the article meant ICS is coming to the t989.
5. Still hopeful? Repeat 3-4 and search t727.
6. If you are still unsure...repeat steps 1-5.
7. Still think its about the t989?? Just delete your XDA account.
8. Are you just crazy sure that it has to be about the t989?? Check XDA. Somebody will still post ICS threads every hour...
9. I'm sorry if you still think your news is about the t989 after going through all that you should just give up on life now.
10. Don't post anything. Just don't post. Period. Please. Don't. Post.
By following this simple 10-step process, you can determine weather you should post an ICS thread! And maybe it will cut down on ICS posts...I hope this helps you guys...

Well then. Didnt want to start another new thread, so as off topic as this might be: I keep seeing everyone say "just be patient! the upgrade is coming in the first quarter!" Is there some kind of confirmation of this somewhere? I cant find one article where it states this phone specifically will even recieve the ics upgrade. And now for my opinions piece: WHY THE EFF DIDNT I GO WITH HTC??!!!!! Thanks guys!

Actually Samsung already stated that a large portion of the galaxy lineup would be gettin the update, including SII/s2x,

What people misinterpreted about the articlea were that the article mainly mentions international version. Later articles stated that carrier variants would be dependent on the carrier themselves and their own timeline as we'll as other factors. Those factors being that the us has tons of variants using different processors. People sawsgs2 and assumed it meant for us.international did indeed get ics q1 as they said.

I think that is a good short summary, or at least all the reasons that kept me from going HTC and getting SGS2 when coming from the Vibrant.
As a Vibrant owner I know full well the pain of waiting for Official releases.

People just see the galaxy name and don't realize its a family of devices.
But at the same time, why would samsung support only international, and leave their TOP SELLING DEVICE out?

That's what I figured! The official statement doesn't actually include ANY US versions of the GSII line. I can't stand US carriers anymore! Looks like I start saving now for my next phone in 2 years. Must...get...off...subsidized phones!

Oh, and give me the stock Android Calendar, that's all.
Shoot. Rereading this, I think root is a must. Can someone give me a quick and easy 1-2-3 and the most STABLE (closest to stock Android) ICS ROM to date? I just want a daily use phone without all the crap software, but also no force closes, etc.

Don't think we have any roms that are stock android. Most if not all of them have some sort of touchwiz due to it being a samsung.
What you probably want is to get a Galaxy Nexus and sell your T989.

A quick search or a glance at our development section will show you that ICS is not available for our beloved T989 yet.
So, I'm just now learning that the ICS that was released recently is for the international version, which, apparently, doesn't have anything to do with the Tmobile S2. Is this correct?

That's correct
Rooting now is extremely easy. Follow the directions in the sticky and you can be rooted in less than 5 minutes.
Most if not all of the ROMS in the Dev section are debloated though still providing some of the useful features of touchwiz.
From what I've read, the ICS update for the international SGS2 doesn't have the look and feel of the traditional ICS. The features are there, but the UI looks more akin to what we've got now.
Really?100's of threads about how ics ISN'T available on t989...yet your asking for best one? There's a search bar for a reason.

The problem with this statement is that you've attempted to prove a "not"...which has never been done. This has been a 2000 year old argument that keeps religion alive-people can't prove that there's NOT a god.
So, prove to me, show me exactly where you did NOT find ICS...and then prove the next place I look will not have it as well. Because after hearing all the arguments, now I think ICS is out there...somewhere. My search will continue! I will become stronger in my faith! I will continue to search, as long as it takes!

Any idea what happened to Notorious and his MIUIv5 ROM?
I hope someone else could continue to work on MIUIv5 for GS3 too.

For every device since the Evo 4G... Everytime I get a good working MIUI Rom, the dev up and leaves or gets a new device!!!! WTH???
.... I don't know what happened but the closing of all threads is never a good sign
I asked him on twitter why was the thread closed.. this was his reply:
"i dropped all my roms. Not fun anymore"

Sucks because this is my #1 rom for the S3.. and it was new. Still good enough to be a daily for me.

Thanks for letting us know.
Yes, this is the first ROM I have used for more than a week. Glad at least it's relatively functional.
I wonder what lead to this... how many threads did he have? How many ROMs did he had out at once? Maybe there was too much demands and it felt like a chore..
Anyway, he has his reasons. We all need a break sometimes.. hope that's what this is and he'll come back.

Ok just so you guys now @Notorious its a teen he is not a 25-30-35 guy he is still a kid and he is very god at making ROMs but I don't now how many of you here are my age (28) and a father without any knowledge of making ROMs and/or modding or spend countless hours in front of a computer compiling a rom to give it free , I for some reason understand him he is studying and have a life, a teen life , so bear with him if he's bored at making ROMs give @Notorious some time he needs to play I bet his Xbox its all dirty by now and by the way his ROM its still pretty stable not that it does not needs updates but not huge issues .

It's understandable. Didn't know he was that young. Yeah people that age they get bored with stuff and then come back to it. Not complaining, just noticed the thread was locked and didn't know why, none of us knew so....

Wow, what a bummer!! ROM's and ROM makers come and go all the time but I was really praying this one would stick around for a while. He did a phenomenal job on this project and, as others have said, it's been my daily since it was released. Oh well. Best of luck to @Notorious, life goes on.

Does anyone have a link to the Last MIUI v5 build before the 4.2.2 ROM? I mean the 4.1.2 version of miui v5. Dev host wont download for some reason

Really would like to see someone take over MIUI development here. The Sprint S3 scene can't be that dead, I see MIUI is alive and well for the Verizon version. Maybe we could entice them to come help over here?
