hello sir i want to know that how can i run every java app on my galaxy y .in its specifications it is written that java is enabled in it but no java apps intall please help me .............. And please tell me if i can upgrade galaxy y to 4.0android ,and can i make a voice lock on my galaxy y?????????
Android doesn't have native support for java applications but u can run those applications using a java emulator e.g. Jbed
and.AFAIK there is no official ICS for galaxy y nor any unofficial port but there will one sooner.

the apk file is divided into 2 parts (only when the concerned application is deodexed)
1. classes(this is smalid part which is java based)
2.Resources (this part is most important and has nothing to do with java)

if you just want to read it you should be able to use any kind of text editor like notepad on windows or Vi, gvim, gedit in linux

hellow fellows i want to do some editing with my Reefermattness android build...as i think that all apk's are located in system.EXT2 file but i m not able to open it in windows using winrar .... i also tried on Ubuntu but no luck....does anyone knows any kinda software in windows or Ubuntu that i can open the file and edit it...i google about it but got no positive results..i like both devs work but i like to use Reefermattness build ...i successfully edit many things in neopeek build like phone /gallery(3D Gallery)/music

What sort of apps do you want?
Im sure that if you looked around the desire forums in the apps sections you will find some .apk Then you just copy them onto your internal memory in winmo and then in android you just find them in a whatever filemanager is included in android and I think you can install them there!

im not developer or programmer but im so interest in developing android applications , i prepare my PC to that by downloading JDK , SDK and eclipse , i know how to use it and create the UI for app by XML in eclipse , my problem in writting the java codes for the objects in app for example , i know how to create button or text view or edit text but when i want that button to do action on click for example to save text to SD , I HAVE TO WRITE JAVA CODE FOR THAT SO WHEN I CLICKED THE BUTTON IT WILL SAVE THE TEXT TO SD , i dont know how to write java codes , is there is soft ware that perform that or java code generator to give the code for any object action i need , just finish the XML and give me codes directly . or i have to learn JAVE first then go for app developments
