Wich is the easist method to calibrate the battery? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thanks in advance
I'm looking for the most easy method !
Thanks!

for me
After flashing a rom.
I use the phone till it dies, then fully recharge and wipe batt stats in cwm
After a couple of days ,when the rom has settled .batt life is good.
Have never used a third party app or any long winded cycle methods and always get a 20 + hours of avg use.
Hope that helps

Simply using your phone will " calibrate " your battery.
When you fully charge your phone the batt stat is erased automatically.
how that helps do a google for "battery calibration myth debunk"
A google android engineer has made a big post about it on g+

50ma battery drain on stock and cm7

Hi wildfire users,
my girlfriend got her wildfire yesterday.
The first thing I've fine, was to root it and check the standby battery drain.
It was between 27 and 50ma in AIRPLANE mode, without sometimes at 120??
My device got 1-2 in airplane and 3-5 without.
Thought it would getting better after flashing cm7, took the rc1...not really.
Any suggestions? Iam an experienced android user, but my options are running out, what else I can do.
What I've done:
Checked drain with current widget,
checked partial wakelocks with spare parts-seems okay.
Uninstalled all custom user apps I had installed.
Read here, that reflashing the radio fixes some issues...didn't tried that yet.
Any other ideas?
What drainages do you've got?
Waiting for your answers.
Edit: perhaps it will help to let it charge it to 100% and check again...maybe let it also discharge one time ^^.¿?
....think i was perhaps a bit over motivated...

Battety drain will be above normal just after flashing a ROM. You need to make a full charge and then go to recovery and wipe the battery status.
Then do few complete charge-discharge cycles. Then it will be definitely better than stock rom. And use CPU settings in smart way. Work on the minimum setting and governor. Also depends on other factors like live wallpapers etc..,

How does calibration the battery prevent from it from draining faster ?.

Battery calibration gives accurate reading only, it will not improve the weared out battery.
When shifting between roms, the battery will not give accurate reading because not all roms utilize the battery in the same manner (Rom saves the details in batterystats.bin file). So, what if it gives wrong reading. There might be a possibility that it shows 100% even when not fully charged. So we think battery drains faster, but the fact is we haven't charged it fully. (correct me for any errors).
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Yes showing 100% wrongly must be the only situation where battery calibration be blamed. But 8-10 hrs of charging from deep-down-zero should definitely make it full, right ?
Whats your general time taken for charging in standby mode (WiFi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth Off).
I am experiencing heavy battery drain with WiFi, since I installed Sunabh ROM. (He adds a switch off wifi notification to hide this fault. Cunning.)
Any solutions ? May be re-flash the radio or change the kernel ?
Dude, attack the CID bug.
I resolved my issue without even switching of my phone once, let alone flashing anything.
Running for more than 2 days now. \m/

is it usefull to use a Battery Calibrator?
I have done almost always battery calibration with all my androids.
-Battery Calibration from Market
-Load battery full, do calibration
-Use battery till phone shutdown
-Load battery full when its turned off
After these steps regular use and battery acts like it should
In CWM go to advanced - batery calibration
do this with 100 procent batery
let the phone run dry
charge 100 procent while phon eis still turned of.
You can repeat this until it is good again
good luck
i try latest doomkernel, from the review it said that battery use just average 1%per hour, but when i try it,my battery drain faster,in 6hour my phone dead,so i think maybe i miscalibrate,ok i will try all the method above, thnx for help

Hi all , my lt18i face a big drain while 3G on and it could take 20% over even more per hour...:crying:
and i wonder if there someone can help me with it,i'll attach some screenshot and the dump by betterbatterystats.

I use the rom aokp milestone m1-r1 with kernel 4.0 fusion and also notice this problem. if I use the 3g, the battery dies quickly. I am always on 2g with data off and only use when needed. wifi does not occur with this problem.

Another battery will not help.
Another kernel will not help.
Wiping battery stats does nothing, all stories about "improving battery life" are complete bull**** - it has nothing to do with battery!!
All ICS and ICS-Based ROMs, yes that also means all Jelly Bean ROMs,that are based on ICS, have that ICS bug, which causes battery drain after every charge. You need to restart your phone in order to fix it. Restart after charging and no more massive drain should occur.
If it does, it must be something in your personal settings.

Flash 72 baseband...Baseband 77 has battery drain issues...Also facebook eats some battery in standby...Change the refresh interval to 30 min and see...Also alarm app eats the battery. I know that. Dont set a daily alarm, instead set it just before gng to sleep.
I'm experiencing quite the same problem on my Arc (LT15i) although I don't think it occurs after every charge, and I'm not even sure it does only appear when I charged the phone.
I remarked that the radio is going a bit buggy (switching from Wi-Fi to 2G/3G or constantly reconnecting to the mobile network) and when this appears, I have to reboot the phone or the battery dies in 6 to 8 hours (when the problem don't occurs, it can go on for 36-48h).
Anyone has noticed the same thing or am I experiencing another battery drain problem ?
Not trying to hijack or anything, but as my problem relates to yours, I thought I'll write to this thread.
My LT18i battery drains around 10-20%/hour even when put to airplane mode and rebooting before. I just tested last night and charged the battery full, left the phone to airplane mode and at the morning after 7 hours there was 20% left!!! I even checked from betterbatterystats and the phone had been on deep sleep almost all the time.
Have had this problem for a while, but havent found any solution to it, if anyone can help, PLEASE do!
P.S running on stock GB

There is an app or something, that is using lots of battery. Check sync settings (some apps have it in app settings), turn off WiFi/3G/Bluetooth/GPS, make sure app is working.
And do not use taskkillers.
And if you can, post a screenshot of Battery Usage screen, with the list of apps consuming battery.
I flashed Stock ICS .587 on my arc last night and charged it 'till today in morning so i took my arc restarted it and 'till now worked just fine,my battery is almost dead but i used my phone today at max.I did some callings, played Asphalt 7,used wifi and internet, dolphin browser, installed some basic apps from market, done a cwm bacup, installed some cam mods cyber-shot,tested the camera.but hey even the battery is dieing now it's cool.I had fun with it for today,i hope this battery will last always ss today.
Apps kills the battery,so i deleted FB,i frezzed some apps that i don't use everyday, and i have my brightness on 50%.
I know i didn't help to much but i'm sharing my expirence.
And yeah sry for my english.

Pretty sure, theres no apps running and I have everything turned off, I even took the sim card off for testing purposes.
Betterbatterystats shows 98% deep sleep at my tes period of one night.
Now it gets even weirder...A friend of mine suggested that I try to turn the phone fully off (power totally off).
I charged the battery to 100% last night and pulled the battery, putted it back on and let the phone sit on the table untouched for the night. When I turned it on on the morning battery showed 4% left!!!
So theres a huge drain even when the phones power is turned fully off. I dont know does this indicate a broken battery (battery 2 months old) or something wrong with the hardware ???
Turn phone off. Charge to 100% when 2-5% left
After fullcharge, use ur phone. When it drops to 50% exactly shut it down. Remove battery for a minute. Reinsert battery and dont turn it on.
Charge it again to 100%
Done
This worked for me

By the way, is it normal that the phone warms up quite lot from the top back (about under camera) ?

again,,, i'm gonna share with you my own experience,,,
i ,, too,, am flashing so many roms,, trying each and every one out there,,,
and so ,, i face a common problem,, dont know if its a board problem or what,,,,
THE WIFI
after i connected my phone to a wifi,, and then,, i switch it off,,,, i noticed that it will then start to reconnect by itself,,.. dont know when ,, or even how,, but its reconnecting itself,,, it continues to scan,,, ... result is that,, when i touch my phone... its really hot,,, and because of that,, im sure my phone isnt going to a deep sleep state.. (correct me if im wrong)
that is when i search the net and found a way to disable a wifi reconnection thru terminal emulator,,,,
and that is by entering this one
su (enter)
svc wifi disable (enter)
exit (enter)
exit (enter)
i usually do that after i use my wifi,,, to ensure that it wont reconnect again,,,
and im just wondering why in CM,, its always reconnecting,, while on gb roms,,, it doesnt....

[Q] Battery charging too fast

Hi guys.
I have a strange problem. My Gio charges from 3% to 100% in 3 minutes. It says fully charged...
Of course it's not real charging, if i unplug it, and start to play a game or just see my mails with wifi, it consumes that 100% on 5-10 minutes...
I've tried to charge the phone all night and the result is 2-3h of working time. If i use power consuming apps, like games, than it's just half an hour... I think that the phone stops somehow the charging process if it reaches to 100%.
I've tried to calibrate the battery, with program from market, and wiping batterystats from CWM too... It didn't help...
The strange thing is, that last week it worked well. Now something happened and it's ruinig my life...
I had THIS ROM when it started.
I've changed to THIS ROM, and it didn't solve the problem. All caches were wiped during flashing...
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help!

Hm you said you tried to calibrate the battery so it`s weird. I have sometimes the same problem but after a calibration it is fixed. I can only recommend to charge it overnight , make sure you`re not overclocking it , make sure you don`t use wifi , mobile data , gps , see if there`s an improvement keep it only with calls and messaging for 1 day see how that goes. Check also the battery maybe it has a spillage altough i don`t think that`s the case. Sorry that`s all i can say
Thanks for the advices.
I've just set the CPU governor to smartassv2. It was on Ondemand. Now I can discharge the phone with playing within 15 minutes. It's better than it was on ondemand...
I will try to use it like a regular phone, let's see how it works...

I've a battery old as yours (04.05.2011)
With any custom ROM my battery life is of 3 hours...
With stock is kinda 5 hours with 2G connection activated.
I'm waiting for a new battery, but if you want to keep your phone alive up to then:
- flash a stock ROM
- install as few apps as you can (I've G+, Stream (FB client), FB messanger, Viber, WhatsApp, App Cache Cleaner, AppZorter and xda app, nothing else T_T)
- do NOT use kernel different from stock
- hope you good luck because first times battery will be strange, after some full usage and discharge now I've the battery life I told before
Hope this could help
I have galaxy gio and it problem is whaen i charge my galaxy gio 3 min later to touch to 100 percent and then i plug out and on it then it show battery is zero
