Hi,,
This problem is related to my gf's Gio, and she's driving me crazy to solve this
Well, a few days ago I flashed a CM ROM on her Gio, everything ok, Gio is great and so on, but her facebook app stopped updating the feed and she can't comment or send messages to anyone, she can only put "Likes" on the first feed page.
I thought it could be a problem related to the rom, flashed the adrenaline ROM and the problem remains, I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens.
Can anyone give me an idea?

Uninstall the facebook application. Reinstall, try if it works.
If that was the case, my apologies to him. No disrispect was intended.
Anyway, on my first post I mentioned that I already did that: "I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens."
use an alternative facebook app, the normal one is slow, buggy.

+1 - Facebook apps sucks big time. Look at the comments on market, most of them are negative. I'm using FriendCaster, it's pretty fast...
Well, I tried the older version of facebook app and it is working.

It's lighter than the newer version, and it is working properly
None of them works for me in cyanogen Rom.
But all of them work fine in stock.

Damn, the problem returned even on the older facebook app. Suddenly its impossible to coment and doesnt update...
Sometime i faced same issue...
But now i always used Friendcaster Pro.

Is there any facebook app with chat? (without the official) I know that there's a facebook chat app, but she would have to use 2 apps intead of one.
I'm using CM9 Beta 8 and I do receive FB updates and feeds, but when I click on a post, the post is blank.

Got the same. Something shows only when you want update notifications . I'm not able to use it anymore -,-

Sorry for the question. What do this app?
Loved this app on my t mobile g1. Used it to send about 150 texts to a guy at work who kept on showing off his iPhone. After 30 texts it crashed his phone. Poor guy was crying

Its sends multiple messages (the amount you type in) to who ever you want to send them to, you can also set a delay between each msg.
This is fun for people who can take a joke or someone who made an idiot of you, just bomb them with msgs 100+ and usually there phone locks up

What trouble are you having with it?
Will only work on a phone, or a tablet with a sim card

for some reason, when I put this apk in my SD card my phone bootloops.... so I deleted it from external sd card via a card reader and now phone is working fine....
KIS 2014 says it has virus (I know maybe false positive)

The old update used to work on my wifi in university, which has a proxy server. This new update now shows as if I'm not connected to internet when on that wifi! Anyone has the same problem and or knows how to fix it?

the new version is a proper app and not a webapp, so it cannot recognise that there is no connection.
i am also in uni, what i do is open a browser first and go to any site, then the proxy should intercept it and ask you to login.
once login-ed, then open facebook again.
Yep, finally, no more HTML5. From now on, I expect it more smooth and as good as the iOS version.
This Facebook 2.0 is not smooth on my S3 running WANAM LITE Rom. The scrolling is not smooth. I don't know about you guys but my connection is only on WiFi and I am able to use the app.

Its smoother than before.. image loading is fast as hell ^-^ But I'm not good with it.. because I keep getting "Network Error" all the time, and nothing more loads.. i have to restart the app .. I've cleared it's data, cleared dalvik-cache.. but still getting that error :/

Same thing happening with me, are you connected to a wifi with a proxy?

So, here is my issue:
Since the last 3 updates I can't log in to the app. No matter what I do i just CAN'T. I have an HTC One X (Tegra 3) woth the SkyDragon ROM (the first time that I got the error I was on stock JB). No matter if I use WiFi or Data, I just can't. I've tried differente roms and all of them had the same issue (i'm starting to think that the issue is inside my phone)
So... If anyone out there is able to help I'll apreciate it.

download the latest version of facebook from play store
confirmed your username/password by logging off on a computer, and logging back in

Yes! I can log in into any account in any app! As I wrote the problem came with the 2.3.2 update!

Ok, I must add: I've tried installing the last working APK for me (2.3.1 version) and it didn't worked!!I got the same error message.
PS: Even I've tried the ROM that you are using now and it did not worked.
Could be something with the registry or something like that?
I've just been trying different things to try and replicate the problem but it doesn't matter what I do, facebook and messenger sign in every time without problem. What versions do you have? I Have Facebook 3.1 and messenger 2.4.3. Also I looked at reviews of the new version of messenger and couldn't see any users having sign in problems

I have the same versions! Well, I found some comments in spanish but they were from a month or two ago... Could be something with my FB config? I mean, I've never touched it before so I guess that it's not. The 2.3.2 version brought me to this point t.t Now if I install an older one it wont sing in that's why I think that it must be something with my phone or the internal storage i dont know!
I'd be shocked if it was your phone/hardware related. storage maybe, but more likely some cached data somewhere. Have you got more than one apk version in storage?

I mean, I believe its something with the storage! Not the hardware!! Must be some sort of cached data like you said! And yes, its the only APK file of the app that I have!
I've googled for almost 2 hours now and can't find anyone with the same problem, l will look again later today. its 4 am here now and time for bed

So you mean problem is solved or not? if not, try to delete data of facebook app, not just the messenger, but also facebook maybe it will help

I can tell you, that your not alone. When i look at the danish reviews of the app i can go back to around november last year when people started having problems with not being able to log in.
I myself and a friend both have the HOX and niether of us is able to log in.
I have tried several times finding a way to repport to bug to facebook, but it seems like all their help sections are just loops refering to each others and never ending in something useful.

I knew I was not alone... Did you tried to format your internal storage? What have you done?
Yea, i have tried that and it did not help.
At the moment i have a little fix to the isue (i like getting notifications whem people write), so i removed all facebook software from my phone and only installed the facebook app (not messenger) and then you will start to get notifications agian.
I would ask you to try and instal the facebook pages app and se if you are able to login there, because I think the same error is in both the messenger and and the pages app.

Nope, I was not able to log in to the facebook pages app too! Could be something with our CID's and our locatons? Have you tried a ROM without "sense" like cyanogen or something?

I will assume everyone knows about this app. You can basically track and wipe phone remotely and many other features. It is only free for today so go grab yours today.
Steps:
1. Download Cerberus
2. Create Account
3. Receive e-mail with license
If you cannot connect to services get on 4g/data and it'll hopefully good through.

Yes I tried, I got the e-mail almost instantly. Took me awhile to register because servers are getting hammered.
But if you tried the trial, it my not work with the same account.

If you did the free trial, unfortunately it won't give you the full license since its for new accounts only. I would recommend grabbing another android device that you did not use the trial on and creating a new account with that.

Try to do it through 4g/data, the servers are getting hammered so that error message is normal because I received it too.

i'm going to go ahead and say that this sucks...simply because of the new accounts only...it woulda been nice to have said that before i logged into my existing account...which now my phone is attached to...and since the free trial is up i'm screwed...

Easy fix:
1) Go the the Cerberus login page and enter your info
2) Once logged in (if your trial is expired) it should give you a message saying "Your trial has expired!"
3) If you see the trial expired message, you should also see a "Delete Account" option on the same page, click that
4) Once your account is deleted simply download/reinstall the app and register again (you can even use the same info)
Voila! Free license!
