Where can i find the cheapest Micro SDXC Card? - General Accessories

Well, as title says i want to find a place to buy a cheap 64 GB Micro SDXC Card. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Amazon would be your best bet, and you can get free prime shipping.

Just remember to steer away for eBay or "too cheap" items.
You might end up with a card labelled as 64GB, but actually being 4GB or so...

SDXC card
Amazon and Ebay are the places get some good ones. Amazon is best for many options for free shipping

Out of curiosity, I was wondering what device you have that supports a 64GB? Has WP7 or Android gained the ability to use 64gb? if so this is interesting....
now a side note, it is truly amazing just how much media and information you can carry around on your phone. When i was using my 4S as my daily driver I loaded my entire library on there with about 8,000 songs, 1500 pix(actually taken on the phone), and as many video's as i wanted, along with as many large apps as i could ever think about using. Making my transition back to android i am so glad to not have to use iTunes!!!!!

Amazon or Newegg. My patriot seems to work really well and has no problems. I had an adata card and it was very intermittent.
You do get what you pay for.

Amazon.....,but you get what you paid.

Lexar 32gb micro SDHC class 10 card...failx2

ok so I am now about to be on my 3rd 32gb Lexar class 10 micro sdhc card. I am thinking that the first two since they were in the same shipment batch that they were just a bad bunch of cards. Just wanted to put the warning out there to you guys. My cards will just show up as corrupted and will not mount. Having to use a forensic software to pull all the non-backed up stuff off right now.
Anyone else having any problems with them?
I havent tried Lexar but I did buy a 32gig Class 10 Patriot and it has worked flawlessly so far
I have the lexar one and it works fine.
just warning you...37 days into this card and it failed....the first one lasted a little over 2 weeks.
back up, thats all I am saying
I got one coming... i'll see how it goes

Thx. I decided to try the Patriot version instead (not that it has any better reviews, but a few Atrix owners have reported success with it). Cheers.
Been running lexar since first week had the phone, no problems yet. What batch yours come out of? Also, ordered from provantage, shipped from new jersey or georgia one, will have to double check.
couldnt tell ya. I do know it was the very first shipment of them that came into our store like a week or two after CES. Im just thinking it was just a bad first batch. 3rd one is going fine so far...
I got mine through Beach Audio via Amazon. It's been working fine so far.
I got my Lexar class 10 a few weeks before the Atrix, it has been in the phone since the first boot and has worked great.
There is a known issue with micro sdhc cards with the atrix. Just like with the windows phone. Motorola is supposed to be coming out with an update to fix the issue.

What kind of prices are you guys finding on these SD cards? It seems silly to me to buy a single 32gb card for $100~ when you can get 3-4 16gb cards for the same price.

please offer even a shred of proof regarding your statements....
I know many people with Atrix and SD cards and NO issues.
Link to anything that mentions this known issue - this is nothing like Windows 7 -where the SD card slot was blocked at release.

The highest capacity model of any data storage device always has a higher per unit of storage cost than lesser models... but it also holds the most. You've got to pay to play.
If you wanted to have access to 32 gb of data, you wouldn't want to be swapping out two 16 gb cards as needed to get that capacity would you? To me, that seems silly.

And I understand that. For me personally, taking 15 seconds to swap an SD card isn't really a big deal, especially since with this phone (thank science), the card slot is easily available under the battery cover, instead of the battery itself.
But, if I can get a decent price on a 32gb card I'm all for it. The price difference just doesn't seem worth it (to me) to save the 15 seconds
If you want to carry all 32gb with you, where di you put the extra 16gb card? It gets old remembering to put accessories in your pocket.

Anyone else getting VERY SLOW transfers speeds with this card? Average I'm getting is 3.5mb/sec which is well below normal!! Therefore, it takes awhile to transfer a movie from my PC.

Like I said, it's really all about personal preferrence. I carry a shoulder bag around with me everywhere I go, so remembering accessories isn't really an issue. I always have my Lapdock, charger, bluetooth mouse, etc. with me at all times. This phone replaced any need I had for a netbook.
Still no word on prices people have got for these?

[Q] Micro SD Class and where to buy in UK

Hi al. I have a desire, and have for a long time. I have used Leedroid for a while, but want to re-install it. But before I do I checked the class of my SD card, and it's a 8GB Class 2!!! Thought was at least a 4.
I am looking at probably getting a 16GB, and will use the A2SD (as I am now), some games take an age to load atm! So I'm guessing class 10 will make a massive difference.
Purchasing. I've had a quick look on amazon, ebay, etc and seen price differences from about £20 to £50. Do I trust ebayers at all? I'd like to pay as little as possible (as anyone would!)
e.g. cheapers on EBuyer: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/195140 (£54 + VAT)
Cheapest on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/16GB-CLASS-10...AsAccessories_MemoryCards&hash=item1c18d64419 (£30)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingmax-mic...1AIC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303131663&sr=8-1 (£39 on Amazon)
Anyone suggest a trusted seller at all, for a good price?
Thanks all. Martin
Get class 6. People say they're more or less the same or class 6 is sometimes better than 10
Sent from CM7
Well that'd definitely make things cheaper, can anyone else validate/clarify this? Is there a way to test the SD card speed, an app or something. I think I have a 2 or 4GB lying round too, that might be a class 4.
Thanks again!
There's a topic in the accessories forum I think or themes and apps. Have a look in there. Its about SD card speeds

Does class 10 micro SD speed up my device?

Hi friends,
I want to buy a 32gb micro sd card but didn't decide to its class. As you know most of our sd cards have class 4 speed but i wonder if class 10 speeds up my desire z. I think i will move all my apps to sd. Would you buy class 10 and pay more or class 4 and pay less?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speeds
So no, in our case, there won't be a difference between using a Class 10 vs a Class 4. It would be in your best interest if you got a 32GB Class 4 and save the cash then get a Class 10 and not use the speeds you paid for.
So which brand is the best for us? I don't want to pay more. I have searched eBay and found no brand oem cards which are cheap...

Most electronic components are all made by several manufacturers. Companies buy from them and brand it as their own. Example: all consumer graphic cards for computers are either of nVidia or AMD/ATI. When you go shopping for one, however, there is Zotac, EVGA, Sapphire, BFG, Asus, etc.. but they're all just rebrands of the original.
My point being is that there is no such thing as 'best brand'. Sure some brands give you better warranty/service, but how much warranty/service are you going to need on a SD card? Just find the cheapest 32GB one you can find and take it.

DO NOT waste your time buying a Micro-SD card from eBay. Many of them are counterfeits, and you unfortunately have no way of telling the legit ones from the frauds. The counterfeits are skillfully mislabeled to depict higher Class and GB capacity then they actually are capable of, and will even report the "wrong" GB capacity on your phone or PC. For instance, a 2 GB card will be misrepresented as 32 GB, and even say on your phone and PC that its 32 GB. But when you actually try to move files, it will be okay until the 2 GB is used up, then you will get an error.
If you look around the Accessories subforum, you will find several posts by different folks who have been ripped off this way. Stick to legit vendors. Not sure who you have available in your area. But Newegg is reliable, does not sell counterfeit goods, and have excellent customer service if a return is needed for some reason.

Your video card example is not correct. While Nvidia supplies the GPU chipset and has a reference design for the card, the manufacturers you mention almost always diverge from the reference design, and come up with their own card layout, cooling solutions, and do the remainder of the manufacturing.
And while SD memory is probably only actually manufactured by a finite number of several companies, it doesn't mean that they are all the same quality. I've used at least 3 different cards from Sandisk, with no issues, and many other Sandisk buyers will tell you the same. If you read posts from people with SD issues, its almost always from the lesser known, cheaper brands (or counterfeits bought on eBay, as I mentioned in my post above). My recommendation is Sandisk.
You can try for cheaper brand to save a few bucks, and you will probably be fine. But the difference in cost is not significant to me, compared to the potential hassle of losing my data and having to exchange SD cards due to problems. Better to spend a little more, and never have to worry about such things.

Lexar 16 gig Class 10

So I just ordered a Lexar 16 gig Class 10 SDHC off of Ebay. It cost 20.50 with free shipping and handling. It had some pretty okay specs listed. Has anyone every tried this brand of sd card? I figured for the price it can't be that bad

Haven't heard anything really negative about Lexar, so hopefully it's good.
But you have to be careful with those cards off of ebay, you can often get fakes. Make sure you check it right when you get it (use something like what's discussed here: How to spot a fake SDHC card... I believe there are also apps in the market).
Again, hopefully it'll be all good, but if there's any trouble, hopefully you can report it to ebay and get a refund.
Thanks bud! Will do! I heard of fake items like SD cards and batteries on there but the seller seemed pretty authentic. Worse comes to worse I'll return it

Thanks for the link, definetly good info. I'll be checking my card tonight.
Finally came in today at about noon. So far so good. Seems snappy. I'm going to run a speed test and post the results
So it is a legitimate learn card? I got 16gb class 4 thinking it'd be fast enough but it's not. Time to upgrade again

I am looking into one of the class 10 as well, currently on a 16gb class 4, and i cant tell a speed difference from the Class 8 i had in previously, i think its worth the investment, just makes things like the gallery and titanium run faster

I found this samsung 32g micro sd card high speed class10 waterproof and shockproof!

Awesome find.
I don't get it...there are a few class 10 32GB SDHC cards on newegg regularly priced like this. What's the big deal? Is Samsung normally more costly?

Generally, Samsung cards are of very high quality. Not sure if you've ever used one but they are very reliable and are made to work. The class you pay for is the class you get.
There are other reputable card manufacturers of course, but with the widespread availability of them now, there is a much higher risk of a fake or being duped with a low class one.
As far as I know, rip off samsungs are rare if even in existence. I could be wrong.
As someone said Samsung makes good quality card, and this one is Class 10 so its speedier. I don't understand the shock/water resistent bit. Isn't flash memory shock resistent by nature?

I own this card and it is specifically rated for 1080p vid plaback and top transfer rates. You have to look beyond that someone stammped "Class 10" on thier card. If you don't believe me, buy a Wintech card and tell me how its treating you when your data is just gone one day and the card cannot be reformatted.
I payed $50 for this card and it is worth every penny.

Aside from phones, Sdc cards are used in cameras. Some of those cameras go unser water and some are mounted on the helmets of xtreme sports participants.

Got my card in the mail today. What kind of speed test results do you get (using SD Tools)? I'm showing 5.1MB/s write and 8MB/s read. I also don't see any "card info" when in SD Tools. Was hoping I could see manufacturing information and a serial to prove this isn't a fake Samsung...
Real-world writing yields about 10MB/s write.
I always thought Micro SD cards were faster... then I remembered that just full-sized SD and CF are even remotely fast!

Be careful with this item!! Just read the reviews and it's apparently a fraud!
Fantastic find, I'd buy it if I didn't already have a 16 GB SD card...
Got my card today I am really happy that I bought this. It came unopened with it's original samsung packaging. Comparing with the one I bought from amazon... check the pics below.
Mistaken entry.
Ordered mine about 4/5 days ago and received it today. Although I had a 16GB (not from Samsung) and didn't use all of it up, I still went ahead and got this. Can't go wrong with it, glad I got it.
I got 10.22MB/s writing and 32.16 MB/s reading using the SD Card Tester app.
Transferring music over seems to be a lot slower than it was using my 2gb card though. Is there a preferred way of introducing a new sd card to the android operating system?
