Can you post the complete information you have about your hboot? You can't be S-Off after you updated to the official Gingerbread file from HTC... unless you did something else afterwards.

Try s-off again...

so i post photo of my hboot. I just try to update from android 2.2 to 2.3 with ruu upgrade from htc website, all proces goes ok and complete phone get reboot an stock on white htc screen with ceeping rebooting all the time. When i go to hboot and choose recovery phone just reboot and stock on white htc screen.

S-off but doesn't say alpharev or revolutionary. I haven't seen anything like this. Can the official HTC bootloader unlock do this? Strange to me at least.

Official unlock from HTC is hboot 1.03

As kotag82 said, you need to flash the downgrade_hboot then run the ruu, nothing else in between.
Go to alpharev.nl to have the downgrade_hboot

This happens sometimes, when you use the method with the PB99IMG files. I recommend (independent from your error) to use fastboot for flash actions like hboots, radios or recoverys. Imho, its the safest way.
Nice guide how to use fastboot you can find here:

I never read that it would be possible to flash hboot with goldcard. Even if this is possible, fastboot is the safest way to flash hboot and i highly recommend to do so.

Never had any cid problems(you see supercid) so I never needed or made a goldcard. Others have reported it working... The fastboot is indeed the best method though

[Q] Desire close to dead?

Hello,
I've been searching the forums for two days now but can't find the answer. Could sombody please help me?
My problem is:
I have an s-off and rooted Desire. I rooted it after I had put on gingerbread. That was all working great. Until I decided to return to the standard HTC ROM again. I've now tried different RUU's even the last Gingerbread.
I think I've done something wrong because every time i get stuck when installing the ROM.
When I boot my Desire I get a black screen with HTC logo in each corner a triangle with exclamation point. I cannot boot into recovery anymore.
The error message I get is partition fail. and [6] system fail-pu.
With HBOOT is 6.93..., Alpharev CM7.
Who knows a solution to my problem. Please a detailed explanation. 'I m more of a noob than I thought.
Regards,
Ruvo

You have to flash stock hboot and AlphaRev downgrader before flashing the RUU. Can you go into fastboot mode? If you can't I think there's a good chance your phone might be bricked.

You can use a ruu.exe or a PB99IMG.zip but the zip should always be a last resort. Some people are often too lazy to get their usb cable from upstairs or in too much of a rush, they must do it on the train to work....

How it works is with a RUU you can only use the same version or newer. This is because you cannot flash an older hboot. The downgrader puts a very low hboot version on so all ruu hboots are seen as newer, even though they are not
