[Q] Data connection problems - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I ask you all for advice, because the data connection problems starting to frustrate me.
I do flash MIUI or AOSP ROM occasionally when I use happens that does not want to turn on data connection (GPRS, EDGE, etc.). Always help restart the phone or turn on - off Airplane Mode. Then the data connection works perfectly and without problems. When at night I turn off the data connection. In the morning I can not reconnect and help only reboot or AIRPLANE MODE.
With WIFI no problem.
When you flash the ROM Sense - no matter what. I turn on data connection with no problems. But sometimes I happen on some sites that my browser will not load images (example www -dot- lupa -dot- cz). When I want to use app Google translate. The application says that there is a translation, but it never shows me the translation. So I think that the data connection does not work correctly. When you download from dropbox, rapidshare, etc. in the statusbar shows download, but the data are not downloaded.
With WIFI no problem.
Excuse my English
Please help me.
edit:
I have to say that the problem is not in ROM

If you can find differences between sense roms and ICS roms with data connection, how you can say that this is not related to rom.
Maybe you should try some official rom and check if the problem still exist?
BTW, did you do full wipe before flashing ICS??

Yes. I did a complete wipe (factory, cache, dalvik, sdext). Formatted and re-subdivided sd card. I tried different kernels and radio. I'll try the official rom. It occurred not to me. But I fear that it was a hardware problem. Now I have CyanogenMod and it behaves like miui

I have the same problem with all AOSP roms. Only toggling airplane mode gets Data enabled
I cant reproduce this on any sense rom.
I wish there is some fix for this

I tried the official rom. There was no problem.
NOW
I made a root and s-off. I am Flash CyanogenMod 7 stable and Runny Rom 5.2 and MIUI. Problems with data connections are back.
Why? :-( No one else has those problems.

Maybe I found the solution. Two days ago I test MIUI XJ ROM. I flash another RIL to rom (MIUI XJ 2.3.30 D2EXT X-PART).
HTC-RIL 2.2.1003G ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902752 )
Maybe this solution will work on other rom. CM7, MIUI AU, etc.
Try it......

Very big problem with my Desire and Wifi Connection

Hey guys,
im running a Desire with the newest Leedroid Rom. Everythings working perfect,
except the wifi network connection.
My Problem:
After i updated from branded 2.1 to 2.2 with OVA Update, i cant connect to any
encrypted wifi. I dont get an error or something, it just tries to get a ip adress
and then it says Connecting... and then it starts again from trying to get an
ip-adress and so on and so on...
The only thing thats working is to connect to an open wifi hotspot.
Things i tryed:
- Other Router, other settings, other decryption, other keys, and so on
It has to be a problem in updating process, cause with 2.1 it works and after i
update to 2.2 i cant connect to any wifi anymore.
I really need help cause i think this cant be a hardware problem, cause everything else is working.
Sry for my english, tried my best
nge89
Do a full wipe and flash leedroid again.
I have done full wipes like 100 times, also im always testing new roms,
so i was on modaco, leedroid, cyanogen and installed them many times.
So that cant be the problem
nge89
First how do you do a full wipe?
Second what is a OVA update? is it the same as OTA? And what does the update have to do with your wifi not working on leedorid? Did you OTA update form a rooted 2.1 rom?
Has wifi ever worked on 2.2? What radio are you using?
I do a full wipe with all 4 wipe options, dont know the exactly names.
Yeah sry, with OVA i mean the OTA.
No, i did a OTA Update from a branded unrooted 2.1 Desire to the branded 2.2 Froyo version. And wifi NEVER worked on any 2.2 version.
I just rooted my phone when i was on branded 2.2 version, cause i wanted to
try some of the nice roms.
In this time i never used wifi, only mobile network connection, cause i was long
time not at home and couldnt use any wifi, now im back here and trying to solve
my wifi problem.
Just checking my Radio version and i have 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2, but i dont
know why, thought i had installed a newer
Should i try the 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27?

Yes looks like 2.1 radio, try the newer but do not pull the battery during the update it will reboot twice and don't touch anything during the process. I take no responsibility for what happens and I suggest you do some searching on the radio flashing process. Also don't forget to check the md5 of the download.
Might sound a bit scary but if you follow the procedures and don't do anything stupid it should go well.
i encountered the same problem only i'm on 2.1 after downgrading from 2.2 and rom jumping. did a wipe and even tried to nand restore my original stock rom. is this a radio error?
the phone was working fine. this issue happened to me while i was trying to fix a battery drain problem, i did a dalvik + cache wipe and the battery was fixed but the wifi started doing this. my phone could still be on the 2.2 radio

Would be nice if you would post the radio version
was about to edit my post with the info, you beat me to it
Radio: 5.11.05.27
HBoot: 0.93.0001
Im now also on 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27. Still the same Problem.
That u can imagine how it looks like:
1. Wlan -> power on
2. Select my Wlan Acess Point
3. Type in my Wlan Key
4. Its says Wlan -> " The Connection is now being established"
5. Wlan -> "Authentication with "Wlan Accespoint name" "
6. Wlan -> " Not Connected"
7. Wlan -> "Scan..."
After this steps it repeats from step 4-7 again and again and nothing is happening.
nge89
Also tried with another keyboard, in another thread someone said it worked for him
with another keyboard. But not for me, still the same problem.
nge89
ok i fixed the problem and now Wifi works perfectly!
I downloaded the same version radio and flashed it again from AmonRA recovery and now the Wifi and mobile network work just fine.
I got the radio from this thread and it has the instructions on how to flash the radio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464
I just flashed the radio with clockworkmod and with install zip from sdcard. Is that wrong?
You had the same problem like me?
Nge89
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
no its not wrong, thats what i did only with AmonRA. yeah from your description i had the same problem. The wifi would detect my wireless network but would refuse to connect and kept giving me "unsuccessful" errors.
The problem is, that i dont get any error.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Some one any idea?
flashing the radio again didn't fix it?
Did you try to disable any protection (wep, wpa, wpa2) on your router and then connect? Also try to disable dhcp on your router and assign static IP adress to your HTC device. I had problems connecting to wifi but after I assign static IP everything is ok.
Yeah, i can connect with disabled security. With static ip and crypted wifi it
doesnt work, i cant connect.
nge89
Then your problem most probably lies in "shaking" between HTC and router. Did you try with basic 64 bit or 128 bit wep? In many cases shaking troubles occur when one device doesn't support encryption of another. For example I had troubles connecting my windows 7 because of ****ty drivers off my wireless card. I could only use wep. Also can you check that portable wi-fi hotspot in wi-fi hotspots is disabled? And try to add your wireless manually so when you enable wi fi it should connect you automaticly without having you to enter your password.

no but have you done so with stock recovery and then flashing?
No i don't try this combination, i will try it now.
Not resolved !
I am connected by wifi (50MB) and that what i see when i try to connect with google account:
"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"
I have Desire and Milestone with custom roms and they work perfect.
Is this problem with any internet stuffs or is it with logging into google account?. What happens when you use another browser like dolphin and open an internet page?
Problem with all aps all connections -> tube wiki shazam browser etc.
Like i say i can connect with wifi (every), gprs, 2g, 3g.. and phone is connected, apps discover connection and try start connect with serwer but there is no way to start transmission, every apps - try try try and stop.
After wipe everything and flash 3.4.2 nothing change - still doesn't work.

Gingerbread Data Connection issue

Hello everyone!
Since a few days I have a problem with Mobile Data Connection on ALL Gingerbread ROM's (Oxygen, CM7, GingerVillain, Redux), however a few days ago everything worked fine. I have also noticed that I don't have this problem with Froyo ROM's like RCMixHD
The browser doesn't work, whereas e-mail and The Market work... I always make a Data/Factory Wipe in Recovery before I flash a ROM. I have even tried different radios (currently on 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27), but the problem persists. Internet works fine on WiFi... on edge or hdspa/3g the browser won't work. I have checked the APN settings and it is setup up as it should be. The phone connects to network but somehow the browser is not getting any data.
I even unrooted my phone with an RUU (RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed) and data worked. Then I rooted with Unrevoked and flashed GingerVillain 1.8.... still no change. I have even formated my sd card!!!! I'm out of ideas... Maybe my provider is blocking Gingerbread from going on the internet (SiMobil). Dunno...
I hope that you will understand my problem. And thanks for any help

[Q] Problems with G2's connection

I've been having a problem with my phones internet connection.. I changed radios a couple times and it still has the same problem.. I can't even load an FML app page or even use wifi hotspot cause it wont send any data. It also wouldn't even show the weather! I receive full 4G bars but it just wont get any internet connection. ... it all started when i updated Virtious Based on Pyramid ROM from 1.27.0 to 1.31.0
If anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix it please tell me. It's getting me frustrated. Thanks.
You may need to match your RIL file libraries. You can download a RIL matcher from ROM Manager. Also remember to wipe your EFS data when changing radios.

Are you doing a full wipe before installing.
Some jellybean and ics roms occasionally have issues with wifi, but gb roms usually dont.
Try one of mildwilds roms, and do a full wipe before flashing.
If thats not working try the app from the playstore called Wifi fixer here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wahtod.wififixer&hl=en
I also have problem with wifi in ANY ICS or JB rom. It can't recognize any wifi network, sometimes, it even freezes in wifi section in setting. I am sure that I'm doing all of install steps correctly; as I said, I have no problems with roms based on older versions of android. the strange case is that my friends have the same problem. Is it possible that it relates to internet providers in my country? (I'm living in Iran).
