LOL... its been a long day... i edit the title... thanks.. maybe i will redownload and try again...

Had it briefly go into roaming last night. Updated profile and pro, haven't had it happen since.

Its always been a good habit to update Profile and PRL after flashing any ROM containing a modem or a seperate modem change. By doing so, you will stop most modem problems, or modem related issues, especially roaming issue's.

[Q] has anyone experienced this on ei22?

has anyone experienced the clock changing itself by going ahead an hour or two by itself. it's done that to me twice since i update to ei22, and have no idea how to fix it. it's annoying.
Works fine for me. You can go to settings, date and time, and set the time manually. I use automatic and it works fine.

What were you running prior to updating to ei22?

Clock issue from Sprint Towers
I have had this issue on and off, so it is not just you. I had it on EC05 all the way to EI22. My wife has it as well on her unmodded, unrooted, completely 100% bone factory Nexus S (in case anyone thought is was from modifications).
I think the issue comes from the Sprint towers, specifically WiMax. I only have the issue after I have been using 4g. I have not played with my wife's phone enough to test it, but called Sprint and they said something like "you aren't the first to complain, we are looking into it". The did ask me if my phone was at all modified.
I think it has a lot to do with where you are as well. I am right on the edge of a timezone (between CST and EST) and sometimes my phone hits the EST tower. If I pull the time from the tower I have this problem intermittently.
Good luck.
are u goin in and out of roam? if so might be changing something around possibly
no, i don't go in and out of roam. and i odin back to eh17, and i haven't had the problem with clock since i went back to eh17. so it has something to do with ei22. now can i use eh17 rom and flash or odin another modem? is that possible? or will there be any complications? the modem is the kernel right? (sorry, still a noob in the learning process)
by the way, i do appreciate everyones help. thankyou very much.
Modem and kernel are different beasts. Not sure if you can Odin the EH17 modem after you upgrade to EI22 and new ROM. I did run EC05 on an EF02 ROM, and EF02 modem on an EC05 ROM.
Sent from......well I would rather not say
Well if they are not compatible, what exactly would happen? Cuz the eh17 modem sucks

[Q] 4G Broken!.... What gives???

Im currently running cm9b0 with the phantom vm fix no custom kernel, everything was running awesome but for some reason I can't lock on to 4G anymore. Just says "disconnected" tried flashing b0 and gaaps with a cache/dalvik wipe but still the same? anyone have an idea on what to try next? would like to avoid a full wipe since everything is just the way I like it. Once in a while I shut data off to save battery but thats all on and 3G works fine, Even toggled airplane mode on and off a couple time with no change. Any help is much appreciated
I'm running CM9b1 and haven't been able to get a 4G lock yet. I have good 4g at the house, but it just scans and never finds the network.
Edit: Played with the 4g toggles for about 15 minutes and then finally got a notification in the status bar followed by a 4G tower connect. It stayed connected for just under 2 minutes, disconnected itself, and I haven't been able to get it to connect since.
Could it possibly be my modem?
I've restored old nandroids and still the same, could it be my hardware out maybe my carrier? I'm at a loss

Your best bet is to odin stock EL30 tar firmware and see if it works there. If it does then move forward from there checking it each step. This happened to me once before.

[DISCUSSION] FG20 Build

This is a thread to discuss the FG20 build for the Boost Mobile version for our phone.
As to my knowledge there are no issues running it on our Epic 4G Touch without of course a simple APN fix to get MMS.
What we've noticed is that its a more polished version of FF18 and what we should have essentially gotten for our phone.
I would like to know your experiences on FG20 and how it's running for you.
And note any bugs you notice please!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Everything seems fine, some (but fewer than FF18) apps FC on me. The multitask bug is still there, I haven't tested if the exchange bug is still there. Battery life seems a bit sketchy, but better than FF18's. This is near 92-95% percent of what our ICS update should have been in the first place.

I not sure to try the full ROM because I only flash the modem and can't even make a good call 95% of calls drop on me and the people I tell to call me they all went directly to my Voice mail.
Maybe I should try full ROM but dunno.
Edit: I just notice a few hours ago service get a Lil better, I will try again maybe was Sprint Service problems.

I've been on the fg20 modem for a few days now and not had any problem, I've have no 4g in my area and spotty 3g... my 3g speeds have been more or less the same as they were on ff11, but the consistancy and stability of the connection has improved and this has helped my battery life, not that I had an issue with my battery life... voice calls have been good and I've not noticed any change from what I experanced on ff11, which prior to this was the modem I got best results with

Hello, I tried the FG20 rom and noticed that there was no Roaming option in the settings, so I did a quick search for Boost mobile roaming and found that BST doesn't allow roaming. So for now, it's back to the somewhat unreliable (WiFi) FF18

No, sorry. And since my last post, I've gone even further back to old reliable Blazer 4.1. But am keeping the FG20 modem however, figuring that it should be at the very least no worse than either FF18 or EL29.

I'm not sure what you're questioning, but I'll try to be more specific. After trying the FG20 ROM/Modem and realizing that it had no roaming option, I first reverted to a backup of FF18 ROM, keeping the FG20 Modem. But FF18 has an annoying WiFi issue where it often disconnects while in sleep mode. So I then restored old reliable a.k.a Blazer 4.1 ROM which doesn't have any issues whatsoever, or at least any that bothered me. The modem itself, whether EL29, FF18 or FG20, all performed about the same regardless of ROM type, so as of yet, there is no reason to go back to an earlier version than FG20.
Bottom line, when I mentioned WiFi issues, they had nothing to do with modems..... I think.
I am still trying to figure out what makes these builds so different.

Seems like more trouble than its worth. I think a lot if people thought fg20 would be our silver bullet. I have a feeling we'll see an update for our ics before too long
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm running this but I'm also on boost. Find it to be an improvement over the last few ics leaks. Using agat's latest release 4 which I loaded thru Odin since mobile Odin doesn't recognize the device anymore. All in all pretty smooth with good battery.

3g/cdma no service

Hey guys,
Not sure what to do about this. Unless someone has a better answer, I'm betting that the radio on my phone is dead.
Today, when I left work, I noticed that I was getting a phone signal, but my evdo data wasn't working. Turns out that wimax worked though. But then I ended up someplace where the wimax signal wasn't consistent, so I tried switching back to 3g, but no dice.
So, then I tried booting into the fc09 flashable boot utility to see if I could update profile, etc., but when I did, there was no mobile network at all, and since then I can't get the radio to recognize a signal at all. I have 4 working Sprint phones around the house, but my epic is the only one not working.
So, since I was there anyway, I tried accessing the hash/dialer codes for ##data# and see if I could reset the radio. But, the msl that I had written down for this phone didn't work. When I tried running connectbot to look it up in fc09, it crashed. When I rebooted into cm9, and looked it up there, there was no entry for ril.msl
I guess I could get the msl from sprint and try again. But I thought I would check here for a suggestion from the best community on the planet first. =)

This may sound like it has nothing to do with the modem, but when was the last time you wiped formatted data/ factory reset? I had your issue a while ago, and for some reason formatting data fixed it for me.

Your baseband version is unknown so the only way to fix it is to get the ns4g modem to stick or switch back to the fc09 modem, i use the fc09 modem and it is a lot more stable than the ns4g one, I would reccomend that one. To flash back to it all you need to do is flash a kernel for fc09 and flash the modem in odin and you should be done

I've been using the ns4g modem since October with no problems. I'll try reflashing again.

Well, how about this. I haven't reflashed the modem or anything yet, and now my cdma radio is working again. Hmmmm. I'll have to outside a little later and see if the evdo will work as well.
What can I say, this is bazaar. I guess I'm still leaning towards some sort of intermittent hardware problem.
I tried posting another screenshot, but no luck right now. I'll try to post it later.

Having trouble with SMS issues please help!!!

I'm sure this question has been answered b4 and I'm sorry. So just hear me out. I've had problems over the past week with getting my phone to receive SMS and calls. I can make calls but I'm not able to receive them. I was on the phone with the sprint the other night and they were doing all these things to try and fix it. They had me do dial pad codes and my phone did not respond to those. They had me send some SMS messages to myself the text went through but didn't go back to my phone. And when I reflashed the modem and rom on Sunday afternoon I lost 3g I used to get almost 5-6 bars in my house on 3g and now I barely get 1 bar. I am on Stock Gb27 rooted stock kernel but I was on agats Gb27. I need help I would like to avoid getting a new phone. Thank you in advanced

The signal issue is a funny thing to work out...I would try going back to stock ICS and ICS modem...before that you should make sure no tower work is going on in you're area.. ..if you go to ICS update prl/profile .... Check signal...then proceed to gb27.....rom and modem or another job modem...just my thoughts...let me know how it goes..

So I did what you said. It only fixed it for a day. Only ##722136# works in Gb27 dialer. Before it didn't. Would I be able to install ICS dialer apk and not mess up the JB dialer. I might have to get a new phone if it keeps this up and if I do which phone should I get.

i dont think the ics dialer idea would work...you can keep trying different modems and see what happens or tell sprint that they suck and demand an airave..they will probaly charge you for it..
As for which phone to get...there is no way for me to answer that man...But i'll tell you this. When i get my next phone it will be the water/dust resistent S4..But i dont see a new phone helping the signal..
You could change you're prl to a roaming one..there are guides here and there online..But this only works for sprint not boost..If you're on sprint..a custom prl would be my move..

well..then before you go flashing a custom prl and having sprint freak if you use to much roaming data..lol
I would odin a one-click back to stock rooted ics...you might have something left over from rom flashes messing with you're signal. Make sure you back everything up on you're pc...because you need to use the wipe data one-click..i think its called ''no data''. I'll look to make sure.

Sorry..i seen you have signal now..ive been jumping around and helping others in about 3 different forums. If you're problem is just sms or mms. I would wipe the cache for the sms app in app manager. Then boot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache.Reboot. If it is still wonky..try checking you're apn settings..if they are wrong.change them and reboot.
Should I just look online to see if they're wrong.
