Nothing huge here, but I themed the Notification Drawer Widgets in CM9 to match the blue ICS uses and thought I'd share it with folks since I didn't see it anywhere.
This is a zipthemer file, so you'll need to download it from the Market (it's free) and use it to create the update.zip to flash in CWM. If you want to use this but aren't familiar with zipthemer let me know, I can help you out.
I couldn't get a screenshot but here are some of the icons.

download zipthemer here
*How to use Zipthemer*
note: you may need a ROM of you have flashed (CM9) in order to configure your edify script (this is the script that tells CWM what to do when you run your update.zip file)
1. Install zipthemer!
2. Open up the menu (on ICS it's the 3 vertical dots) and click on update edify (you will only have to do this once)
3. Updating Edify screen (complete either Option 1 or Option 2)
- option 1: browse to the ROM you have on your phone and click it -- done
- option 2: click on download, then exit out of the screen, click options (3 dots), settings, update script format, select your phone. If your phone isn't present, see option 1.
4. Download the zipthemer file (.zip), and using a file explorer, move it to the "zipthemer" folder on your sd card.
5. open zipthemer again, click the "+theme" button, select the theme you want to apply (you can select more than one, or even only certain parts of one)
6. click "*output" button and pick the name you want for your update file (or accept the default). Leave the "-update.zip" at the end of the file name and "/sdcard/" at the beginning so it will be in your sdcard root directory and easier to find when you go to flash it.
7. click "build it!", it will ask you if you want to create a backup file, I usually do just in case so I don't have to re-flash the entire ROM to undo my changes if I want to.
8. Exit zipthemer, reboot to recovery, flash your new zip file, reboot system, enjoy!
more notes:
a. as always, it's a pretty good idea to run a nandroid anytime you play with your system (this is a do as I say, not as I do kinda statement)
b. A lot of these type of themes where some system files are modified or system apps are modified, it's good to do a wipe dalvik/cache
c. if you update your ROM to a new nightly/RC/stable, re-build the zipthemer file. It's likely that this isn't necessary, but unless you know just what the CM team changed it's probably a good idea.
wait can I just flash the zip or do I have to do the zipthemer thing( which i have no idea how to use)?? And also is this zip only for the galaxy nexus or for any CM9 phone .( I'm on Samsung epic 4g)?

You have to do the zipthemer thing, but that's the beauty of it! Because you are using zipthemer, it doesn't matter which CM nightly/RC/stable you're on, zipthemer pulls from the files on your phone and makes an update file for you! And it's really easy to use.
Unfortunately, it doesn't necessarily transfer across devices. And in the case of the Epic 4g, it doesn't. The image files are different sizes. I have downloaded the CM9 files for the Epic 4G/4G Touch and built a zipthemer file for it though (with the exception of the wimax icons, if you use wimax let me know. I don't know if the epic 4G is even wimax capable). I'll post it in the Epic 4G forums.
Also going to post a quick zipthemer tutorial after this post. (added them to the OP)

Hey,
Versions supported for colormod :
MAGIC/HERO/DREAM - 1.7 (Waiting for 1.7 sources )
Nexus - 1.7
Versions supported for noncolormod :
All recoveries, even koush's except you wont see the difference cuz he never calls on the png's
Thanks to amon_ra for his recovery and thanks to all those he thanked
Script is based on the dev kitchen by dsixda. I removed everything that was not needed for this task.
Requirements : Device drivers properly installed
Windows Operating System
Instructions :
1. Download the 7z file and extract.
2. You will get 3 folders and 2 batch files.
3. Run either batch.
INFO:
Noncolormod just allows you to change background image and progressbar
Colormod batch does what the noncolormod does + allows you to customize the colors inside the recovery
Guys 2 tips :
1. If image is layered please flatten it in photoshop or edit in paint.
2. Use this tool to configure a range of colors. Just grab the decimal values and feed in the script.
FYI: This will not work with Koush's recovery as he ignores the background png
PS : Donot ask for assitance from amonra if you are using the repackaged recovery image produced by this script. He WILL ignore u
PS : I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU ARE NOT CAPABLE OF FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS. I EXPECT A DECENT LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING/TECHNICAL ABILITIES FROM THOSE WHO ARE USING THIS SCRIPT.

Awesome. I'll try this later

trackball no longer works in recovery?
Re: Recovery Background Changer
it shud. make sure ur using 1.6 recovery.
Ok guys, here is the latest one. I need atleast one confirmation that this works for each devices then i will update the main post. I can vouch for 32a users it works very well. Anyway i need confirmation for hero from this part of the forum. Let me know.
Download Here
how do you install ??
You download the file i posted before ur post. Extract it using 7zip. Then download amonra's recovery 1.6 not 1.7 for ur device and place inside the recovery/old folder. Run the colormod/nocolormod and select "How-to" and read to better understand what to do.
trackball doesnt work. it scrolls fine, but pressing the button does nothing.
Hmm ill look into that, im confused because the source for hero/magic recovery is the same so it should work fine. Ill get back to u guys then, imma ask amonra for some advice.
Ok thanks to amonra for pointing me in the right direction. Just a minor variable name change had to take place. I will post the latest update 2nite which will include update-script syntax color change as well as "non background height" dependent progressbar with user customization.
Ok guys update is out. 2 new features + a lot more stable + should work 100% on hero.
Update : supports amonra's newest recovery.
I themed my Galaxy Nexus notification drawer widgets to match the blue in the rest of ICS instead of the default white. I had an Epic 4G visitor ask about doing this for their phone, so I built this Zipthemer file to help y'all out. I don't have an Epic 4G Touch so I couldn't test this out. If you try it let me know if it works, or what doesn't work.
There are two versions. The first one is all the icons changed except the wimax icon. V2 is where I took the wimax icon, tried to theme it to match the others, and used it to replace the LTE icons.

Done. As it turns out, the Epic 4g/4G Touch file will work for the Photon as well. Same images, same image size. Nonetheless, I posted it in the Photon forum as well for other users to find. Here's the link

Thanks, and
Good question, the background I used is actually cut from one of my favorite PS3 wallpapers.
-Someone would have to write an xml for it to display in landscape, I have seen it but cant find it now.(I believe it was a twrp for tablets) When I find it again I will try to port it for GN2's.
Sweet... that would be sweet if it was scrollable like the real xmb screen
Hey Twansky. What do you think I may be doing wrong? I downloaded the file to my pc. Plugged in phone navigated to phone memory found the TWRP folder which was completely empty, made a folder, named it theme and placed the downloaded file into the folder. File said ui.zip. Booted to recovery and nothing. Even hit the refresh theme or whatever it says in advanced options and no go. Thanks Twansky. Saw you were on so figured I would ask you even though your not the OP
Or Tiki if you're on and no whats going on would love to know. Thank you. Great work btw.
Well what I did was find the folder in my internal memory "TWRP" and inside that folder make a folder called "themes" then in that folder add the ui.zip, make sure to rename it to "ui.zip" if it isent already.. then reboot into recovery and bam.

DIY BLOATKILL
Note: This is my first entry into the Android development forum. I am not a developer. Proceed at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any fubar situations.
I'll post this in the d2vzw, d2tmo & d2spr if it works well here.
WHAT CZ_BLOAT-KILL.zip DOES:
This thread is designed to help you create your own recovery-flashable bloatkill zip. You can either use mine, or modify mine to create your own. When you flash this, it automatically removes all the aps (apk’s) that you don’t want on your phone. This means you don’t have to go through and uninstall each app one-by-one. This zip will remove it ALL, in just two seconds.
HOW TO USE IT:
1) Flash CZ_BLOATKILL.zip in recovery after you have installed your ROM and installed all your apps.
2) Wipe cache & dalvik and fix permissions.
3) Reboot and test your phone.
WORKS ON:
Should work on all AOSP 4.2.2 Galaxy S3 phones. Tested successfully on 4.2.2 d2att with TWRP 2.5 so far. While the script includes a few TouchWiz items that are not found on AOSP, it is NOT designed for TouchWiz. This is only for AOSP 4.2.2 ROM's.
SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO:
---Broadways – Everything you see here is possible because of his original work on Bloatkill.zip. Please go give him some thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058944
---CyanogenMod – I used their updater script from 4.2.2 gapps to modify bloatkill.zip to work on our Galaxy S3 phones.
HOW TO MODIFY MY CZ_BLOATKILL.zip AND MAKE IT YOUR OWN:
Note--I’ve only tested this on Win7x64 and d2att and 4.2.2 AOSP. Your mileage may vary.
Note--You must follow the directions EXACTLY as I have them listed, or the zip will not flash properly.
1) Download the attached cz_bloatkill.zip.
2) Download & install 7zip on your Windows 7 computer.
http://filehippo.com/search?q=7zip
3) Download & install Notepad++ on your Windows 7 computer:
http://filehippo.com/download_notepad/
4) Right-click CZ_BLOATKILL.zip and select 7zip/Open Archive.
5) Go to the following directory: CZ_BLOAT-KILL.zip\META-INF\com\google\android\
6) Left click to drag & drop “updater-script” onto your Windows desktop.
7) Right-click “updater-script” on your Windows desktop and select “Edit with Notepad++”.
8) Copy several of the “delete” lines.
9) Change each of the .apk filenames to match whichever apk/app names you want removed from the phone.
10) In the screenshot below, you’ll see that I copied the “Apollo.apk” line several times. When you edit my file, you'll do the same thing.
11) Then I edited one of the lines and changed the wording to “TEST”. Just change each of the copied lines to include whichever app name you want.

12) Then save your changes and close Notepad++.
13) Now just drag & drop this modified “updater-script” back into the open-archive window. It will replace the existing file.
14) Close out of the archive window.
15) Copy the zip to your phone and flash to remove the apps you selected.
Here are the apps I’ve chosen to remove from my phone. NOTE: If you flash mine, you will lose your Internet browser, text messaging, launcher, keyboard and a lot of other things that I use 3rd party apps for. So flash at your own risk!!!

If you get me a list of the apk's for TouchWiz that are considered bloatware then I will.
But since I created this utility I've learned that some bloatware has dependencies. If you can find those also then I'll create a new script.
Or just edit the script yourself. Find a list of all bloatware somewhere on the forum.
I have an S4 now so i can't help ya there.
Bored of the same old crappy lock icon in AOSP Roms?!
Well Look no further, these icons will change the Lock icon to a selection of custom images, made by me :3
Code:
I am not responsible for anything at all, if you brake your phone, your problem not mine, but i will help because i'm a nice guy!
Notice
Don't ask for Flashable Zips, 2 Reasons. 1. Makes it too Noob Friendly, this will help you see what else makes up the system ui of your phone and open you up to be able theme them accordingly. 2. I couldn't actually get it to flash properly xD It's good to get experience with the below method thou! And it's totally Worth it tbh!!
These will probably only work on AOSP roms, but i have only tested these myself on my Desire C and they work flawlessly, no lag, nothing like that! So enjoy using them guys :3
Okay so now on how to install you desired ring, it is not as easy as just flashing the zip in recovery, plainly because, their is no zip for you to flash :highfive: Haha, so you need to make some edits to your Framework-res.apk instead until i can be bothered to make a flashable zip for these
First Thing you guys need to do is find your framework-res.apk, i'm sure you allknow where it is but just incase i'll tell you :3 It is Located in the Desired Rom Zip under System>framework>and there it is! I personally would extract it to my desktop and leave it there for later :3
**********
The second thing your gonna wanna do is Decompile or find any way in which you like to extract the res folder that is inside the .apk, again, i'd extract this to my Desktop again because it's an easy place to put it :3
**********
The next thing your gonna need to do is press Thanks on this post to unlock the download Just kidding but, yeah, What you gotta do is download my zip of mods, have a browse of them until you find the one you like, and extract the two images in the Resized/root of the folder to, you guessed it, the desktop You can use the other images outside the folder but the image will be bigger (HDPI)
**********
So Now you've got the two chosen images on your desktop, navigate into the res folder you extracted earlier and navigate to drawable-mdpi, this is all the images and stuff that make parts of your phone, i'd leave most of this alone unless you know what you doing
**********
Now drag and drop the two custom images into the drawable-mdpi folder and allow the files to be overwritten, now put the res folder back into the framework-res.apk and recompile it or do just whatever method it is you like to get the custom res folder back into the .apk
**********
Now, you can either put the framework apk back into the rom zip, and reflash it with your custom lockring, however this is time consuming, and takes longer, can cause errors blah blah blah, you get the idea, so instead just copy the apk to your SD card and use a root browser to copy it
**********
Once the custom framework-res.apk is copied, simply paste it in the system>framework>HERE of your phone, accept the overwrite, your phone will immediately reboot and this is okay, it will then boot up, and your lockscreen ring will change :3
**********
Example of the kinds of rings you can have and what they look like on my Device
However i only have three, because that's all i took screenies of, the first two are ones that wernt resized, but the third one is :3 i think the resized are MDPI so better off choosing the HDPI ones which are outside the Resized Folder
