Text-Zoom Auto Reflow w/ ICS & GB ROMs Re: Browsers - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

When I was on GB ROMS:
- I always had the ability of Text-Zoom Reflow
- I could also double tap and the text would fit the screen
I was using the Stock Browser.
I forgot if reflow worked with Dolphin HD installed on GB ROMs.
I installed ICS FC07, as well as FC14:
- I no longer had reflow capability
- still had double tap text fit to screen capability
I flashed back to GB EL29 to get GPS back and:
- I had reflow once again using the stock browser. I didn't try Dolphin HD.
I flashed back to ICS FC07:
- No reflow with Stock Browser
- No reflow with Dolphin HD browser
I installed Opera Mobile Web Browser 12.0.1 and once again have:
- Touch-Zoom reflow
- and double tap to fit screen, which I always had.
It appears that Reflow does not work using Dolphin HD when on ICS ROMs
The above has been my experience, and as always ymmv, as individual
E4GT's work differently, even under the same conditions re: app, modem, kernel, etc. installs
Hoefully this will help someone out, as it took me a while to figure it out

Text-reflow also does not work for me in MIJJz BLEND ICS rom. I am using the stock browser. Any ideas?

Is the stock browser in Froyo faster than Dolphin HD?

I read somewhere yesterday that the stock browser in 2.2 (Froyo) was almost as fast as the iOS Safari, but I had always used Dolphin on my EVO and Hero before that.
Well, I tried the stock browser yesterday( I'm using the latest Cyanogen Mod) and surely that thing is blazin! So much so that I made it my default browser.
Has anyone else tried the stock browser on Froyo? What did you think?
I love the stock browser in Froyo on CM6 I havent even bothered trying another one.
The stock browser in Froyo is 10.1 flash compatible out the box, correct?
Stock froyo is far, far faster than Dolphin Browser, as much as I love the additional features.
how many tabs are you allowed to have open?

It scored higher on the Acid3 test if I recall correctly and was virtually identical in speed to the iOS browser

This is the only reason I use dolphin, cause allowing only 3 tabs in the sense browser is way retarded.
Do you mean the sense froyo browser or just the stock froyo browser?

stock froyo
stock browser on CM6 is good. much faster than stock sense browser, BUT the scrolling is laggy. swipe down, short time passes, then it scrolls on screen. there's a delay between the swipe and the actual scrolling.

I've never had that problem with mine. Did you try setting plugins to "on-demand"? That reaaaally helps out with browser speed.

Sense stock browser

I have been wanting to run a vanilla rom, but miss the pinch zoom function of my sense rom. When I enlarge the page it will realign the text so it is all within the window. Any way of getting this with vanilla?
Its usually in settings somewhere

What rom have you tried where it did not resize your internet browser? I am no expert but I've used at least six different rom's and never had an issue with my browser resizing. Also, with each rom that I have flashed I used Dolphin HD and my text realigns quite fine. I'm currently running Skyraider Athena 1.2 and browser resizing works.

Deck's 2.3.7 rom doesn't sync to chrome bookmarks but Deck's ICS does. Why

I flashed EVO-Deck's ICS rom and I like how the browser picks up all my bookmarks from Chrome browser on my win7 pc. The I installed Evo-Deck's gingerbread and Installed Crome browser and chrome to phone but still no bookmark sync?
Does anyone know how to get any rom to sync chrome bookmarks?
Thanks in advance.
Can't say it ever synced when I was on Deck's 2.3.7. I believe I had to use chrome marks or something like that to access them.

Stock ICS contacts list on AOKP JB 4.1.2?

Just last night I flashed to my first non-stock ROM, the monthly build of AOKP. I'd been on the fence about flashing to a new ROM but with AT&T pushing out JB updates to the phones and having de-bloated mine, I didn't want to re-bloat to upgrade then de-bloat again. So I went with AOKP instead. It changed my phone from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.1.2, and I REALLY miss the old contacts list. Specifically, the ability to swipe right to call and swipe left to text a contact was such a great feature. I am otherwise loving the new ROM and I might become addicted to this flashing business.
Now a swipe takes me to Favorites or Groups, neither of which I will use, forcing me to navigate through a couple of clumsy screens to perform a simple action. Is there a way to get the stock ICS .apk gapp file and flash it over the JB version in CWM while leaving the rest of the JB gapps as-is? Or was that a TouchWiz thing? I also tried out all the third-party contacts apps on the market and they are only better in the sense that the background isn't white.
Afraid not. Swipe to call/text is strictly touch wiz

[Q] Google Chrome/Beta & ARC/S/PRO?

Do you use? What about lags?
I've used stable release some time ago and it was slower than the stock one.
For me, chrome feels to be on par with the stock browser (Im on CM10), but noticed that it ate my battery a bit more than stock. On the plus side chrome handles content rich websites a tad better.

I tried it for some weeks but eventually I uninstalled it. Dolphin, Stock and Firefox seemed better. It needs to be better, perhaps this is why it isn't the stock one in Android yet.
