Had so many ideas floating around in my head about this one I couldn't help but use my day off yesterday to throw it together. Compiled JrBourque's blue VK for this build. worked out pretty well =)

This is the pre-status bar version. That's my next step and I'll likely be posting an update to it w/ the status bar and notification background modded to match. Then i think I might take a few days off lol (aside from posting the Gambit theme once my homeboy tinkers w/ the clock for me). I haven't stopped since I started working on my Amazing Spider-Man theme nearly 2 weeks ago lol.

Thanks =). It was deathly slow at my work the other day and I was playing Megaman 2 on my Dash and got all kinds of ideas and inspiration. Couldn't shut my brain off until I saw the project completed lol.
Hey that music widget needs to re-signed thats why in port it's off.
Keep up the good work! Not my style but looking good.

Droppin the megaman theme out of no where, without so much as a warning! ?!??!! That's boarder line illegal

Resigned? I've never had to sign anything other than the update.
Adding the guide lines using either 9patch or if you know how to do it using CS3 and signing the .9.png using eclipse. Thats what i am talking about as far as signing.
great theme, can u port it to JF 1.5?

yeah I spent about 3-5 hours trying to get eclipse to work right. Once I figured that out I spent another 2-3 hours trying to master the skill of editing in 9patch, following the steps precisely but just couldn't get it to look right =L It was too foreign to me and I just ended up giving up in frustration. It seems what the image looks like is variable on where you place the markers on the top and left columbs. Just couldn't get the image to look right no matter what I tried. And yeah... was following damnitpud's instructions. =( I guess I'm just not naturally inclined for editing in 9patch as some others might be.
But I'm pretty okay w/ the MP3 player as long as the inner isn't stretching out of the body or anything like that. When I copy the file from a Haykuro G build into the 1.5 as I have w/ this one, it just seems to take the same shape as the default mp3 player and that looks aight by me since I can't seem to comprehend 9batch editing he he. Thanks for the feedback man.
I've seen some of your work and work by others on here and the graphic design elements of the themes puts mine to shame lol. I'm just really inpsired to make themes based on sources of influence, like Spider-man, Megaman etc. etc. =) I keep it real basic compared to most but I have fun with it and that's all that really matters in the end I guess.
Aight. Got the Statusbar done. Was tempted to dive deeper and make all the notification icons blue as well... But it looks good as is and I don't think I'd have the time to mod the 60+ images required to acheive that end lol.

Thanks to the help of Manup... I FINALLY have a semi-sound comprehension of editing the stretchable images (IE the images that are used for the music widget and VK among other things). Thus I'm currently working on making a custom music widget, and might change up the notification are a lil more before I'm completely finished. Once I am ill prolly make an attempt to port it to JF. If its as easy as pasteing over all my modded apks into a JF build it should be a snap (any insight/input on this from anyone else on here would be much appreciated =)).
This theme is looking nice. I know my bro would love it. Is there any way you can make one of Zero? I tend to like more the Z-Zaber than the Buster, lol..
just my .2 cents..

update -
Music player skinned. Notification background changed out. I cleaned up the image on the menu background so it's not so obvious that it's tiled and looks a LOT cleaner now. I thought that image looked a lot better than the one I was previously using for the notification background so I used it there instead as well. Here's the updated link -

Its not perfect but its another theme where i am testing the different .9 png capabilities... thought someone might enjoy them until i can fix them up
also tried something different with app drawer background

this is my last theme for a tonight and maybe a while...
I have been sick and i am sleepy so I am going to take advantage of this and sleep... I havent been able to sleep much during the sickness
i will be back when i feel better... hit me up @RandumAccess on twitter or kenavantsATgmailDOTcom for quick response, i may not be at my laptop.
thanks, and please... no spam, im trying to get better not worse lol
man, you are a beast when it comes to themes.
i love the way that app drawer looks, did you just make the image a certain size and let the system replicate it to fill the screen or make the image the whole size of what it would occupy on the screen and space the bars to sit under the apps. that's cool looking. (hmmm new ideas)

alright, thanks man, i hope you get to feeling better soon (i should send you a get well now card)
My first post...been lurking around for a while.
I feel like this would probably be pretty simple for someone who knew more about what to do.
I tried flashing the zip, then tried using reframe.sh (through android terminal emulator) to reboot into just the framework, then tried editing the framework-res.apk by adding files and moving files to match other Froyo framework-res.apk files...but all of those things failed.
I didn't really anticipate my actions would have the desired effect, but I was trying.
I don't know what would have to be done. If it's simple and someone would be willing to update this for Froyo, I'd appreciate it. I think some others would as well.
In addition, if anyone could point me in the direction of some learning material for this kind of stuff, not just how to theme but also maybe some development guides for beginners, I would appreciate that as well.
Then I could just do this type of thing myself in the future.
Here's the link to an xda thread with WhiteMochi v0.003: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843204
Thanks in advance.
Think alot of themers on the Epic prolly got their start here using Dream's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821638
Good luck man!
I'll do it.
Do you want the clear notication bar or the solid one?
I would like the solid one, if you could. Thanks a ton.

Do you want the lockmod installed along side?
What exactly do you mean by the lockmod?
My current rom uses the AOSP lockscreen by default so it shouldn't be an issue, right?

I meant maddoggins lockmod for EC05. It includes 6 different locks.
Oh, no. I tried to install it but was having issues getting it to work.
The one straight from the lockmod thread didn't work (FC when trying to view Lockscreen Settings), I found a working version in the framework included with the Nebula rom/theme but didn't like the status bar.
I was under the impression the WhiteMochi just used the AOSP, or were you asking for another reason?

Haha I can make you a version of nebula with a different colored notification bar if you'd like.
I'm sure it uses the AOSP lock. I was just asking if you wanted me to implement the 6 lock.
If you could get the 6lock in with the Mochi that'd be sweet, but it's not necessary for me.
Would be a huge plus though, hahah.
Still looking for anyone willing to possibly port this over to Froyo/SRF.
I'm mainly just looking for a white status bar without a gaudy notification pulldown and attractive icons.
I tried FrostPort v1.2 but personally disliked the status bar icons (all of them).
I noticed that the Galaxy Prevail (the new prepaid Boost Android phone) has a nice white framework, so even a port of that would be killer.
I read up on theming and I have a basic understanding of what to do, it doesn't seem overly difficult. Only issue with me is that I work 5-6 days a week long hours so I don't always have time to devote to studying up/getting in practice...especially as of late.
I have two days off coming up which I'll most likely wind up devoting the bulk of to learning how to theme (devoted my last two days off to my phone as well...don't know how to feel about that).
In the meantime, however...once again...if anyone is up to the task, have at it. I would appreciate it, and I know others would too.
I'd like to see this theme... Where can I see screen shots of the original theme? I have no knowledge of Android Theming or anything. But if there's a pretty good guide, and by pretty good I mean something that will SHOW me how to do it, then I could give it a try. But I'm more visual so a walk through that's text only won't help.
This seems like its AOSP straight to the bone seriously just use the AOSP ROM, whats honestly different?
When trying to flash it via Clockwork it says "Amend script was disabled in this version" or some such thing, and then says "Installation Aborted".
Using reframe.sh causes the phone to not boot (sticks on boot anim).
PLEASE NOTE: THIS APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED AS OF 12/31/2013. FEEL FREE TO CONTINUE USING IT BUT AS IS AND ON YOUR OWN. THANKS.
erikalin - stock app
No more longing for stock apps that the ROM developer removed as bloatware but you really love...
No more explaining to users how to pull a file out of that stock ROM and push to system...
No more needing to include those extra stock apps you really would rather not keep in your ROM...
One person's bloatware is another person's beloved Yahoo stock widget...
This is a lightweight app that has a simple UI in which users can go get whatever stock apps they want to download from my repo and push back into the custom ROM they are running. The app also has a Help tab that leads to a noob-friendly video help file 2:30 minutes long, which demonstrates how to download any stock ROM apk file from the repo and push it to system/app/, set permissions, and reboot.
INCLUDING THIS APP IN YOUR ROM BUILD
Permission is given for anyone to include this app in a ROM. You do not need to ask me in advance; just let me know. Here is how to do that. If you include this app in a ROM please do two things for me in return: (1) Post a link to your ROM here on my app thread to say you have included this app, and (2) Post a link to this thread in your OP with other credits.
Please keep in mind that I cannot provide support other than for the functionality of this app: a stock file repo and basic instructions for how to push apps into the system partition. People should continue to post ROM questions on the appropriate thread for that ROM.
Do not link directly to my file repo or my youtube video that is attached to this app. You can use this app, but please do not use the pieces I have hosted and created for this app. If my traffic log indicates that this is happening, I will have to take the files down.
Keep in mind that I do not monetize on youtube, so view counts mean nothing to me. And I am hosting all files for your use without any ad support. "Click through to the thanks button" is appreciated.
THANKS & CREDIT

Just put .apk at the end of these to know what file names match the apps. I did not also cover widgets, but I think their file names are all obvious. I believe I have these all correct. If you find a mistake please pm.
To make it readable:
If viewing in the XDA mobile app, tap once on image and then pinch to zoom.
If viewing in mobile browser, tap once, then once more on the viewer, to pinch to zoom.
If viewing on a PC, click the thumbnail, then click on it again to open in a separate tab to zoom in.
If viewing on a mac, I don't know you, and you paid too much for your system.

Hey bud, ROM is not released yet. This is just an app I made to put into build-a-rom when I release, but I am sharing the app because if people check it out, they'll probably realize they want to bake it into their ROMs as well. Your feedback helped - made me realize that I needed to do this for what I'm putting together. Also, when I do release build-a-rom, you'll be able to keep your data and flash over the test build.

If you guys would want to include this app in your next deodexed ROM versions, go ahead and use it. Just give a link to this thread. I did theme this according to my own project, with the neon green on black. If you want, I can make a few versions themed to your colors. Specifically, where you see green on black in the app's landing page as well as the icon, I can make that whatever on whatever. Black on buttons and app icon could be transparent, but I do like my main background image in the app - it's a darkened screenshot from stock GB7 TW homescreen. Subtle, but pleasing because of the function of the app... but the neon green-on-black color scheme I could change for you easily enough. If you would like this, let me know your hex codes.
I'm going to wait to see whether I get some feedback to help decide if I should make a revision or if it's good out of the box. Fifty downloads so far, which surprises me for a little app on this thread. Either way, I can make a few versions themed for you... we are small in number in the ghostly E4GT forums... And seriously, I've got this handset for another year. If you do not want to include it or don't like it - no offense - just offering/sharing.
Who's gonna be first? Just kidding, looks good.
Edit: Really liking this, great job. Simple and useful at it's best.
Nice no more needle in a haystack search we like simplicity!!!
Very cool. It should be noted somehow that preload files will have to be dropped into system/app to prevent confusion because they will not run by themselves without a symlink. Two very nice apps in one day. This one and the repository app.

It's all good, lol, but you are correct. Erika Lin = "erikalin"
Anyway...
Today in between doing my real work I've also been thinking about how to improve this thing. 90 downloads in one day? Of my little app? In our quiet little forum? I'm glad people are checking it out, so I'll do right by it. I have some initial ideas:
(1) Theme in a few different colors, build them and name them by color scheme. I'd be theming the font color, buttons, and the app icon's colors. Like I said, I do like my app background image so that's staying. Darkened screenshot of stock JB, it makes sense. If anyone says there's interest, I'll make a few different color schemes for v.2. Give hex #s if you want. Honestly, I'm not at a loss for how to spend my time, so if there's no interest I'm fine with my just using original color scheme.
(2) Make sure to clarify push apps to system/app/. Thanks again, td, for reminding. I'll reword the main activity page's description and it will be clear.
(3) Verify that bluehost.com really means unlimited storage and bandwidth for my hosting accounts. I do have several websites on that account, and since I'm now using one of my extras for putting E4GT files on... I can't let it put my regular websites at risk. I will investigate though. If I can host more stuff legitimately with my account, I will consider suggestions for how I might add to this app. I am no expert in java, but can probably handle tabbed navigation, or swipe screens, to different purposes. I will think about this, and consider ideas. The beauty of it is that it will add almost nothing to the weight of the app itself, because all resources are accessed via browser, youtube, whatever. To be clear, I do not want to recreate bilgerryan's fine work with the one stop shop. That's not happening. If I expand on this it will be within parameters... Might just fine tune and keep it the simple app I intended it to be too.
(4) Who is downloading this thing? Lol. You 90+ people, please give me quick feedback. :good:

You're playing around with the test build of my ROM, and putting in the apps that you want. Just my app here? It works for any deodexed stock GB27 TW ROM, of which JV is one. The app is essentially a file repo - all the stock ROM apps. You like the inverted and themed apps, so you probably wouldn't need this app of mine. It's just a way to get stock apps that are missing from any one custom ROM, without a developer having to keep a bunch of the stock apps in the ROM. Win win. I might add to this app somewhat, or I might make a second app with other ideas, both apps being made primarily for my build-a-rom project.
ROM Toolbox ("RTB") is, I think, one of the most valuable apps out there. It's good to use with any ROM and has a lot of useful features.
Rooted and installed CM11 on my G Pad but only kept it for a few minutes do to how bad it looked. I understand that with KK icons got bigger, but CM11 takes it to a whole new level. Icons and keyboard are grossly huge and it looks like poo. Also, i hated the split notification bar. So basically all of the UI elements looked like they're blown up from a phone, but the status bar got the split tablet treatment? Guess I'll stick with stock and G2 xposed until someone can fix how bad these two issues look. Other than that, the rom was fast, but I'd rather not have my tab look like crap than to have speed...

CM runs great, theme it to your liking dude. Get Nova Launcher and make the icons smaller. Trebuchet isn't something you HAVE to use. You can do what ever you'd like. Tell you what, I'll go ahead and say the LG stock rom is the one that looks like shiez. By all means tho, stay on it. Doesn't matter to me. Just that I never heard your complaint before. I'm sure at some point I changed settings /notification drawer /then ticked show in drawer (and I think tick linked layout) and that gave me a single status bar. But it's not working as I remember on the rom I'm on atm. I may have achieved it when I was playing around with the settings on GravityBox (I don't use anymore).
So maybe with a bit of research you could get it working.

I've actually changed my tune on CM11. Not only does it fix the sh*t sound coming out of the speakers on the stock ROM, but the device is now overall snappy and more enjoyable to use. Even though I like the light theme that lg uses, I can't say that CM looks too bad. Oh, and download an app called 'build prop editor' change the 'LCD Density' to 273-300. This makes everything the size it should be. For some reason it's set to 340 right out of the gate and it makes it appear far too large. The only thing that I actually miss about the stock ROM is the notification drawer. I really really really hate the split one for a device that's not all that big. Hell, even my Note 10.1-14 has a single drop down that looks better than this...

Came to the forum to ask exactly about the sound - whether flashing a custom rom like CM would improve it, because honestly, I am greatly dissapointed with how it sounds. I have reasons to believe that it's not only a matter of the speakers but some weird DSP **** LG has put there - some kind of lousy compression... Would you care to elaborate on the sound, in what ways did it improve? Sorry for highjacking this post (oh, by the way, I used to have a - now broken - Nexus 7, the notification drawer works like that even on smaller screens and resolutions like the old Nexus 7 has, but personally I like it!)

Does your tablet have a weird boxy sound to it where speaking voices sound like they're in a tunnel? Cm 11 fixes it. The sound isn't as Loud now at the low and mid range, but still is loud with volume all the way up. But at least it's clear and sounds great.

I'm glad to hear that actually, I was sure that this was some crazy EQ settings behind this!
