[Q] Rooting 2.3.6 and few questions - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

I have some questions before I try to root.
Now first of all, after rooting are there any other consequences other than bricking? Like the market stop working, icnoming calls, etc.. Has anyone had such problems?
2. Below are my phone and firmware informations:

Will the update.zip work on this without a problem? And last, if something goes wrong and I get an error and then I can't turn it on anymore, what's the way of restoring my phone back to normal? Is there a tutorial posted here somewhere? I'm really afraid of doing this as this is my first Android phone and I don't want to screw it up.

Can't find full kernel version for rooting

Hey I apologize if this is a stupid question, what with the video, and this thread and all which is also giving advice but.... It doesn't seem to apply to me since I have a different model phone. >.>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383050
So here goes, when I'm trying to find my kernel version all I get is 2.6.35.11, with no other information whatsoever. I reset it to factory settings (I bought it used off of ebay) to see if that may help and there was no such luck. So I took the liberty of taking a screenshot hoping that would you might be able to help me This is only my second android device (my first was a g1 that I rooted back when texts entered information into the terminal) so be gentle.

Now I'm not sure what to do at the moment, but any help would be awesome. I would really like to root my phone so I can get all this garbage software off of it. Thanks guys!
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish, you are running 2.3.5 as your android version, you can use SuperOneClick to root it ...
Or you can Use Odin to flash a custom recovery , and root it ...
and then you can install whatever custom ROM you want as long as it is compatible with your phone ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582 easiest way to root your phone
I was going to try and link you to the method I found but I found something on AndroidNZ that I thought would work. I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid thread, I'll try the things you guys just mentioned.

I don't want to brick my device, but I would love to have the complete multiview control app.

Art breaks root on LG G3 D855?

Sorry if this has been mentioned already......
I have been rooted for the last few months now through Purple Drake lite. I have CWM as well as as having the Update-SuperSU-V1.94.
Everything has been working well until i switched to ART. It broke root and messed up all the apps. Tried to factory reset and try and root again but the same thing keeps happening. When i try rootchecker, it says there is no root, but when i check stumproot, it says the phone is rooted. But the weird thing is, You can tell some of the apps that need root work, but others won't work which is really weird.
I can't boot into recovery. This pops up:

Anyone familiar with this?
Thanks

Somehow the CWM file got corrupted and would not delete through factory reset. So all i did was move it through a file manager and place it on my sd card and delete it from there. Then it let me delete it. Pretty weird..

I’ve held the power button to reset and try to load to boot loader... nothing...
Called Verizon... can’t help
Tried connecting the phone to my PC but cannot recognize the phone... it doesnt even detect something connected to the pc...
I’m lost guys. I need your help.
Lol that’s why its good to be rooted and s-off guys… I wouldn’t have had this problem if that was the case.
Is this considered a hard brick since I can't get into the bootloader?
Did you get to fix it?

How did it go?
I'm actually thinking of updating my phone to lollipop through HTC Sync and I'm afraid that it might cause error and get stuck on bootloop. :/

Can i safely flash a custom rom on this?

I bought this phone as a used phone from a local market, as i love custom roms it'd be great if i can safely flash it on this device? I'm confused because i know Htc is the most complicated when it comes to rooting. Im Currently rooted with twrp installed on this phone. Just wanted to know if the supercid and everything is on point for me to flash any custom rom? Also im not interested in stock roms and the im also worried about losing cellular signals. Because i dont really know of this device was factory sim unlocked or not. Thanks in advance.

^ the screenshot of the Current bootloader.
Update: i safely managed to flash Insert Coin nougat custom rom on this device. I took the chances and got successful.
Gonna leave the thread in case somebody else gets in the same situation.
Please read the ReadMe thread for finding out why you shouldn't use the SCID on this phone and why you need to be careful with flashing RUUs (hint: you own a CDMA device). In addition, I'd recommend you getting back to a stock state and installing all available OTAs before you flash a custom rom. The needed guides and files should be available in the ReadMe thread, as well.
